Spoiler
Do know that this picture is a joke. As with the OP, I'm very hyped for this game, however I learned to have no expectations when I start playing a game so that I can enjoy it on its own merits instead of what I think the game should be.

My brain must work differently from the rest of you. When I get super-hyped for something, that makes me automatically enjoy it regardless of how good it actually is, rather than make me super disappointed for not being as good as expected. Sure, it's probably my mind trying (and partially succeeding) to convince me that I didn't waste my time and money. And it works...for a while. However, by the time I realize that "Hey, this game isn't really that good", I've already finished it and had a great time doing so  :wizard:

I was really enjoying playing Lightning Returns, of all things, until I made the mistake of watching my favorite youtuber tear into the game's flaws and declaring it the world JRPG of all time. That put me off the game completely and I haven't touched it since. I guess I'm just too susceptible to other people's opinions  :(

Beat my hype OP.

Friend told me its just a game.

I blurted out: "ITS NOT JUST A GAME ITS THE NEXT CHAPTER OF MY LIFE!"

When I realized what I had said. I wasn't sure if that was awesome or just pathetic :(

We are in similar boats. I'm so hyped for this game (as I always am before a big Bioware SP release) that even filtering half of my excitement from my family and friends is still enough to make them tease me often. One friend (who, admittedly, is interested in this game too, but has never played Dragon Age) said to me last night, "Is being gay for a game a thing? I think it's now a thing. You've made it a thing."

I am okay with this. :P

But... but... what gender is the game?

Ha! That's similar to what my fiance said ("But... games don't have an orientation"). Don't read too much into it/take it too literally. He was mainly poking fun at the phrase "Gay for ____" and the fact I previously had said in jest that Bioware has a tendency to make me emotionally gay for their female characters.

No, it was just the obvious question. Though "being straight for Dragon Age" makes no sense as a saying, I'll admit.
