And why should Indians suffer this insanity. Why can't we have our release dates coincide with US release dates?
Am I the only one that thinks that an European Online different release date doesn't make any sense?

It doesnt really make any sense. But some publishers still stick to it.
Though recently for example, the digital version of Shadows of Mordor released on a Tuesday in europe (99% sure).
Hey EA, take note of fellow publisher WBGames decision and do the same
Yep it was out on Tuesday. Walked into game and saw SoM on the shelf and thought, If WB can have a worldwide release why do Bioware have to stay in the past?

While EA has set a later release date of the digital download of DA:I on Origin, they have also stated in the past that circumventing the release date check using VPN servers is not against the terms of service and will not result in a ban. Origin users can play it as soon as the game unlocks in whichever country gets it first.

Some EU countries get DA:I on a Thursday (the 20th), though. Or is it all of Europe apart from the UK? All I know for sure is that Finland and Sweden get it on the 20th (ahhh it's good to be Nordic
).
Do we (nordics) really get it on the 20th? I pre-ordered the Collector's edition and gamestop tells me it releases on the 21st.
Also, to OP, does 2-3 days really make that much of a difference? I mean If you were prepared to buy it before?

So sell me on why would the online release date be any different at a specific part of the world?
This is turning me off so much to buy this game.
Europe is always screwed with releases.
Especially Aus and NZ. even physical releases there's no need.
being an avid gamer i've always ended up getting along with my local retailers Like games wizards, EB and now JB HiFi.
I've never once seen a store that isn't fully stocked before the North American release date and i've been buying games for over 16 years.
I'll never understand it, for physical or digital releases there's absolutely no reason for it.

BioWare is a Canadian firm and therefore part of the British Commonwealth. Release day delays are therefore revenge for the Fall of the Raj.And why should Indians suffer this insanity. Why can't we have our release dates coincide with US release dates?

Yep Germany (Part of Western Europe) can start downloading and playing DA:I on November 20 too. I think its 12AM or 1PM on that Day, when the DL is available.
Yeah its totally Bulls*it but dont forget, we are talking about EA here. They still live in the past and forever will. Different Release Dates does not make sense - especially with Digital Download Versions. But it is how it is.

I've preordered the regular digital edition on Origin, and it says the release is the on 20th in Finland. Same for Sweden. But I don't know if the date varies depending on the edition and the retailer.

AHEM, Aus and NZ got SoM a WEEK LATE!
Distributor excuse is rubbish.
Disks are produced locally and have been in most countries for year's there's simply no reason for it.

Maybe it's because I ordered the Collector's edition then? Or maybe the gamestop staff didn't have the right information... I'll find out soon enough I guess. It would be interesting to know for sure though because I need to order a train ticket around that time.
I know 2-3 days makes the difference to me
Really? Why?
I could understand if it was a couple of weeks or months difference but just 2-3 days? A couple of days isn't that long. Is it because you think it's unfair? Or some other reason?

That sucks. There is no excuse for staggered releases.

Normally publishers try to release games simultaneously worldwide to reduce piracy, I thought.
Sort of like how Doctor Who doesn't show up on Netflix until the next season starts, so I watch bootleg video online. I'd imagine people do the same with video games, and the industry understood that...

Its no different then Uk getting Downtown abbey 4 months before it shows in the states.
Not saying it makes any sense mind you, just that it happens a lot.
Lots of Japanese games release in Asia a long time before the rest of the world. Example, the 1st Demon Souls you could buy the Korean version that had english as a language option and get it shipped to the states and play it like 3 months before the american release.

I do think it's a bit unfair. Also I just really want to play the game as soon as I can.

I see it like this: I've been waiting until now, I can wait those few days as well.
Just going to stay away from pc, cause I want no spoilers. AT. ALL!
Also... mean as it might sound... I don't mind the US getting the game before me, if it's only a few days apart like in case of DAI. It allows the users to run all around in the game and find all those annying bugs, that perfectly hid during Biowares testing. So by the time I got that game installed and running, I'll be able to download the first patch. Might be annyoing at first, but I'll enjoy not running into those bugs myself and fully get to enjoy the game ;P

What I did for DA2 was to simply use a VPN to activate the game.
Difference was that the physical copies for DA2 were actually present in Belgian retailers on the day of the American release (some even had it earlier) but you weren't supposed to play it until a few days later...
Complete bullshit, you pay the same money (or even more, as is often the case for Europeans), so you should get the same service. Therefore I don't give a frak and circumvent such things (and that's usually easy to do).
Of course they could also refuse to make it available for download until the EU release day and link it back to my profile, as I pre-ordered the digital deluxe this time.

I assumed when you said 2-3 days made a difference to you that, like the OP, you meant it was turning you off from buying the game. Though it doesn't seem that way from the way you express yourself in this post. I can understand being frustrated with having to wait a few days, I just had difficulty understanding refusing to buy a game that you really wanted to play just because of a couple of days more of waiting.

Oh no. I'm not doing a stupid thing of not buying a game because the release date is different. I haven't obsessively followed the news every day since Feb for that ![]()

The game is made in Edmonton, I live in Edmonton, why do I have to wait like the rest of you schleps for the game? Why can't I just and pick up my copy at BioWare, it's annoying I tell ya. And further more why is petrol more expensive in Alberta when we produce the stuff and ship it to the states? I am being persecuted!
