Since I've always found the school to be fascinating.

In this thread we will dicuss the positives(if any) and the drawbacks of its use. Aswell its origins and its definitions.

Remember to be civil and not breakdown into mage/templar debate(thread for that will be made soon so keep this one on track :) )

Well i think the first mystery of blood magic is who actually taught blood magic to the Mage's of thedas.

Old Gods, Forbidden Ones, or did the elves know blood magic before tevinter?

Also, Do the Saarabas know blood magic? didn't the Saarabas in Dragon Age redemption use blood magic to activate the Mask of Fen'Harel?

Hmm from the easy access of aquiring BM it can assumed that spirit/demons were the first to teach it. Mortals in a primitive way performed rituals to enhance these proto-spells. Later after further discussion with them mortals developed today current schoolsbin demonology and sangromancy

But the question is how do demons (even if they are incredibly powerful) know Humans/Elfs/Possibly dwarves? all have equal or more power in their veins than Lyrium.

Its probably instinctual. LIke say theres a glow in the dark most will go toward it. Similar lines for demons mundanes and dwarves dont have a glow but fade touched do have varying glow
