1) I always feed them between the missions, but I guess you can complete up to 2(won't risk saying 3) missions, then feed your fish. I don't know about it on ME3, but we do get a Fish Food VI, so you'll never need to go feed your fish anymore.

3)Noope. Just Kelly's dialogue: I took care of your fish. And it can be useless too, because you could've already purchased the same fish in a different store.

1) Once per mission - I usually did it immediately each time I returned to the Normandy, just to be sure. Believe it's the same in ME3, but you can buy the auto-feeder at the Citadel.

2) No.

3) In ME3? Other than Kelly returning them to you, no. In ME2, no except for Kelly offering to feed them.

4) I believe the 'switch' is whether or not you say you'd catch her when she asks. You don't have to say that you'd embrace her - that's romance - you just need to be friendly.

5) Nope - I can't stand the thing

 

Note - if you're worried about accidentally starting a romance with her, my understanding is that it's made fairly obvious in the conversations, which do give you an opportunity to back out. (She asks exactly what you meant by saying you'd embrace her, or something like that.) Dinner with Kelly doesn't mean romance - just as playing chess with Traynor could happen between friends.

I always pick the flirty options with Kelly, but I never romance her, and so, I never have to worry about romance with her. The only fish I'm having is the one on my plate.

I marinaded the salmon in Italian salad dressing all day and then put it on the grill

Many of the crew have asked what I eat. They will never know. It is harder to be poisoned that way.... is it true you keep fish in your cabin, Commander?

I use gibbed to get the fish in ME3, since I don't have to bother with feeding them

Yep, some fish like to swim outside the aquarium. I'm going with that they are quantum fish

 

2) You can buy all the fish in ME3. Except the Prejek Paddle fish, which is also my main reason for saving Kelly in ME2.

There's also the little bonus in ME3. If you keep the Prejek alive through ME3, and then do NG+ with it, you get an extra intel upgrade option you can choose at Liara's terminal next to Glyph. +10% weapon dmg, or power dmg.

I always grab the husk head. Still waiting for James to set up those bowling pins, though. Hope he's not waiting for me to buy them first.

Supposedly, prejek paddlefish gives you some rather nice bonuses, if right conditions are met, like specified here.

 

I never tried it, since I never play a NG+- Consider it a waste of time. But, would love to know it anybody can attest to this.

I can confirm it, though like I say, I always use gibbed to get the fish from Kelly cause I can't be bothered with the fish in ME2.

That was fun where they floated around the cabin. Really livened the place up. Kelly dancing was nice too.

Wow! Never knew the head can explode! Totally doing it next time I play Leviathan! After seeing this picture I can't take the head to the Normandy anymore

About Kelly's dialogue, I guess I can feed the fish manually and take neutral dialogue options with Kelly to see if she offers a dinner, but if she doesn't, my fish are lost in ME3

So Miranda mentions killing the fish even if you have never had any? Also, does Shepard still give that line about fish (in relation to hamster) if he/she didn't have any?

The only thing I remember about Miranda mentioning fish is when she's at the apartment talking about the Sushi restaurant
