The way I see it, both Anders and Justice deceive Hawke, it's pretty much the same quest and dialogue so it's the same lie being told. Even if you are his friend and choose to question him he'll try to throw your friendship with him in your face. So if it isn't Justice acting on the friend path then it means that Anders himself was fully aware of what he was doing. He still lied to Hawke, still plotted to kill people, and still went out of his way to try to use his only friend to do so. What a scumbag.

And I didn't rival him, thus having no evidence to be worried about this situation for my Hawke.
Doesn't change the fact that Vengeance can make it seem like he's not controlling Anders when he actually is.
For all you know, it was only the demon whom you agreed with. Justice is the one who believed in freeing the mages, not Anders, until the former convinced him of it. After the merger, he did not really even let Anders believe anything else.
During act 1 when approval has zero major relevance (it all starts from act 2) when Hawke asks Anders: is Justice controlling him? This is his response (image, emphasize on the word "ONLY"). The codex clearly mentions its Hawke influence, constantly reminding Anders he is a monster, Anders starts to believe it and loses himself. The friendship path however says Hawke's support bolsters Anders' will and he gains full control except when fighting Templars when his anger takes him over and transforms Justice into Vengeance.
*snip*
Well yeah, I was purposely making a biased blanket-statement to show how silly it is.
Lol, some pro Templar you are...
Bethany outright agrees with Anders that something must be done about the condition of mages but she doesn't want to be responsible for violence ( she is nice like that). You know circle mage Bethany's stand on this but if you didn't know she will be furious at Hawke after she comes back at the end of act 3 and finds out Hawke has been sided with Templars.
Morrigan would have invited everyone for celebration party after what Anders did. You cannot be more anti-chantry and anti-Templar than Morrigan, she is the peak of hate for everything related to them.
Irving and Finn are Wynne in a sense. Worshiping circle as if there can never be a better way to control magic or even improve their daily lives.
My jaw dropped when I saw Velanna on that list. I think you know why.
You asked which mages I like, not which mages I agree with. I have friends IRL whose political views are the polar opposite of my own.
"Something must be done" is not very specific at all. I think something must be done, too, but I don't agree with Anders. You can even get Cullen to concede that something must be done. Bethany ends up liking Circle life well enough. Compare her Circle letter to her Grey Warden one. I do not believe she'd support Anders' cause. I bet she would go back to the Circle after the mage/Templar war nonsense is over. She does not even like being a mage; she wants to be normal. Is it really any wonder why she'd like being around other mages? In that setting, she actually is normal (iirc, she says something to the effect of "this is all I ever wanted" in her letter).
Morrigan is not that simple. She supports recruiting the Templars over mages in DA:O. She would probably hate Anders, fighting to free people whom she disdains, even if she would enjoy the Chantry bombing. I bet she would also ridicule him for her merger with Justice-nonsense. She might throw said party, but no way in hell she would stick her neck out for those mages along with Hawke and his/her companions.
Irving wasn't completely submissive. Tell him about Jowan and he'll make it a point to ensure Lily gets caught along with him to make a statement.
I played a Dalish Warden that killed humans in the prologue so it made a certain kind of sense to not judge Velanna too harshly. Not exactly a very pro-Chantry kind of character either. I give my characters their own beliefs, they do not necessarily represent mine. In the time I got to know Velanna's character I came to like her, but I liked her in spite of the clear example she is of how dangerous unsupervised mages are.

That's for sure. She's a diehard independent. She highly values her own freedom, own sense of life. Giving that up would be pathetic in her eyes.
It's also why she'd kill her own mother.

Either way, Justice wasn't good for him.
I could've tolerated an Anders who was simply himself, even if he lost control (in the normal angry human way). I don't think this Anders would've bombed the Chantry. He would have been content causing shenanigans in other ways and killing off the Alriks of the world. More of an underground freedom fighter. I think the bomb was the kind of thing Justice would dream up. It's extreme and ultimately counterproductive. It's a method that won't get you far in the real world.. something Justice doesn't know how to register. He's kind of childlike and alien to life on Earth (or Thedas, if you will).
I don't know, I think it took him far enough.
