I'm honestly not quite sure if I'll even be able to run it
Intel Core i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80GHz
ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series
AMD six core CPU @ 3.2 GHz, Intel quad core CPU @ 3.0 GHz

No reason it shouldn't run. I ran BF4 on a similar but somewhat worse set up and it was fine.
Depends on your screen resolution or at what resolution you are willing to play at.
It runs BF4 on high settings at over 30 FPS but at 900p. 1080p takes a hit and you're looking at medium, maybe, maybe a high setting or two to keep above 30 FPS.
Thanks ... this (and an earlier comment) seems to confirm that my HD 7790 will run on high at 900p.
I don't see why not considering the lower resolution size the monitor puts out.
Thanks for confirming that I probably can run on high settings at 900p.

Really? What level of settings were you able to play it at?

1080p, Medium, fairly steady 40 fps IIRC

Awesome, thanks.
I've sadly realized, with my long work hours and a Thanksgiving week trip home, that I'm not going to be able to finish my first run-through of Inquisition on my gaming PC (and I sure as hell ain't waitin' to come back). So I'm gonna have to finish it out on my MacBook Pro.
So, throwing it out there for fun...
Intel i7 Core @ 2.3 GHz
16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 RAM
Nvidia GeForce GTX 750m
What sort of resolution and settings do you think I'll have to run at in order to maintain a steady 30fps?
Intel Pentium II MMX 266mhz
Intel 440LX
16MB EDO RAM
3Dfx Banshee AGP 16MB 3D Accelerator(New upgrade!!)
4GB ATA33 HDD
16X Max CD-ROM
56K Data/FAX Modem
Windows 95 w/ USB support!
Thanks!

Just wanna say I like these PC threads.
To be up front, I am shamelessly taking advantage of your presence here. ![]()
That aside, will Inquisition run on dual core processors, or is quad core a hard requirement? And if it does run on dual, how well?
For anyone, what are a GTX 840M and 860M comparable to in terms of Nvidia desktop GPUs?

From a different/similar thread:
For those asking dual core - one of the min-specish dual core workstations I have does indeed run the game, and not too terribly. I haven't played all that far though, and I'm not sure if we'd officially support it, so your mileage may vary.
It's a Xeon 5150 2.66GHz, with an 8800GTX (512mb), 4GB RAM.
I have 8gb ram
amd 8350
amd r9 290
RARW
ssd drive
FEAR ME !!!!!!!!
cpu i7 920 2.7ghz
gpu NVidia geforce gtx 650 2g ram
12g ddr3 ram
think I can run 1080? high?

Thanks! After a solid 5 1/2 years, it's time for a new laptop. Surprising how few meet a mix of all my price/spec requirements. Trying to decide if I'll be better off with 2.8 GHz dual and an 860M, or 2.5 GHz quad and an 840M.

860m is similar to the 560ti but with more power efficiency and more memory.

So what does the 840M come out to? A 550? Maybe a little under? Oughta run Inquisition fine then. Probably go with that since dual core stability might be a bit more of an unknown, and not officially supported.

I would say it's more like a 460 but not really like one. It has a very weak memory bus (64 bit vs 460's 256-bit) and it's more centered around being more power efficient than anything. It can do somethings better than the 460, while other times it suffering because it's memory configuration DDR3 vs GDDR5 like the 460 does. It's best to play DA:I at medium with 1366x768 resolutions.

Thanks. I'm much less familiar with mobile specs than desktop, and I haven't been up on that since I put mine together almost 3 years ago. Not the best news. But it seems to be what's in my <$1000 price requirement, unless I go with the dual core, which I can get with an 860M for roughly the same price. And it's not going to be my primary gaming computer anyway.
Since you seem up on current laptop hardware, should I play it safe with the cores at the cost of some GPU power? Most other stuff I use are basic software that students use, and maaaaaybe I'll need to use some modeling software.

Hmm, my desktop may be able to run it after all then. ![]()
What's the word on Operating systems? Is it Windows 7 at minimum required? Or can it run on Vista too? (Just not officially supported?)
Hello peeps ![]()
I've got good enough specs to run it, but thinking of upgrading the gpu (especially with The Witcher 3 coming out as well as Inquisition)
Intel i5-3570K: 3.40GHz
ASUS HD7850 v2 (2Gb onboard RAM)
4Gb RAM (will be bumping up to 8 before the game comes out)
If I upgrade the GPU, would it be worth buying a new, more expensive card, or buying a second 7850 or 7870 and do crossfire (around $100 opposed to way more)?
Cheers!
Well since we have the official specs I'll just ask nicely:
AMD A8-6600K APU with Radeon HD Graphics 3.9 GHz
8GB RAM
AMD Radeon HD 8570D 768 mb
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium

840m is a little faster than 740m, around the level of desktop GTS 250, GTS 720. Runs BF4 med/high settings @1366x768, might be playable on low settings @1080p.
