My laptop is as follows

Intel Core i7 3630QM 2.40 GHz AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB graphics card 8 GB DDR3 1 TB HDD

Should I stick to PC or would the PS4 be better?

That's sufficient.

Any i7 should work, as far as I'm aware.

The GPU is better than min specs and 8g RAM is good.

I would recommend getting an SSD instead of an HDD, but it isn't required. (SSDs make the entire world better!)

However:

The PS4 will probably be a bit better graphical fidelity, so it depends on whether you prefer PC controls or PS4 controls and slightly better graphics.

Big wall of text, but from what I can parse:

CPU is great

GPU could be a bottleneck, its a bit older, but should still work well.

As for the rest idk what it is saying besides windows 8, sorry lol

You should upgrade Windows 8 to at least Windows 8.1 on your machine. The update is free for you and comes with decent amount of enhancements.

Also, what do you mean by bottleneck?

He means that data going to the graphics card has to wait for it to be process by it so it backs up. Think of rush hour traffic trying to get into a freeway with cars backed up.

So, I'll probably experience slowdowns and screen tearing?

Otherwise, I'm good?

Just keep lowering the settings into you get a steady framerate.

My PC cannot run this game. So I guess I'll just have to wait and see if Redbox has the PS4 version for rent.

Considering you're only playing this game with a max resolution of 1366x768, now that I see a clearer picture of what you have. It's plausible that you could run it on high. It's hard to say without knowing what exact 7800 series card you have.

Thats my exact set up, except switch the GTX for the R290. On 1080p they perform similarly, the R290 only really falls behind on super resolutions (4k).

What is your display resolution? You can probably do 25-30fps 1080p on med settings with MSAA turned off. It will run faster if you reduce settings or drop down to 1600x900 resolution.

Whatever this is from, it's not specifying the model number of your graphics card. There are various models in the 7800 series, some better than others.

Or is this the integrated graphics for your AMD processor?

So, I'm getting this game primarily for the PS4 anyway.

But I had harbored hopes I could at least play some DAMP with my PC buddies on my laptop, even if it means lowest minimum settings possible. But I'm not very tech savvy, so what I have versus what I need for minimum is Greek to me. It *looks* to me that I am SOL because I don't have the graphics card they suggest nor a quad core. I dunno.

Could someone look at my specs below and let me know if it might even be remotely possible to run at lowest settings on my laptop or am I barking up an impossible tree? I'm not getting a new laptop anytime soon and know nothing about upgrading parts for my current laptop, so this will simply determine whether or not I'll be able to DAMP with PC friends or if I'll end up PS4-exclusive this time around.

HD 3000 is not likely to be able to run playable frame rate even if you reduce from 1600x900 down to 1280x720 with lowest possible settings. You can check the list of GPUs in the link below in my sig to see how it compares.

This is the integrated graphics included within your CPU. Unless you have a different graphics card inside this laptop that was disabled by power settings when you ran the hardware check on that website, most likely your laptop does not have any discrete graphics card, only integrated graphics.

Damn, had a feeling. :(

I do not believe I have any other graphics card other than the integrated one that came with it. Laptop was originally bought to serve as a writing tool and Internet browser, as all of my gaming has primarily been console. However, a bunch of friends from this forum convinced me to try and see if ME3 would work on my laptop so we could MP together, so I downloaded it when it was very cheap ($20) and gave it a shot. Since it worked pretty flawlessly (other than if I host, people are gonna get roughly 25-28 FPS-intelligent AI, which is to say pretty dumb enemies LOL), I got a little brazen and branched out to a few older games from GoG and some Steam games (Civ 5 probably being the "newest" game on here besides ME3).

But I knew from the start this thing was never meant to be a real gaming laptop. Had a bad feeling DAI was gonna be the point where the bar went a little too high for me to reach. *sigh*

If nothing else, I've learned loads more about what's important in a PC/laptop for gaming, so I can make a more informed purchasing decision whenever this laptop dies and I go to replace it, either with another laptop or a desktop. I still don't want to use it as my primary gaming platform, but it would be nice to still be able to MP with some of my PC-only buddies. :)

I hear ya, here is a guy playing BF4 with HD3000, as you can see he's getting below 10fps at 1366x768. Not quite playable IMO:

The thing with the HD 3000, and any other integrated intel GPU, is that your computer will need extra RAM, let me explain; this integrated GPU have very little VRAM (about 64 to 128 MB) so to work it use your system RAM (usually up to 1.7 GB), so if you are planning to play DA:I with an Intel HD 3000 (or any other integrated intel GPU) you will need minimum 6GB of RAM (4 for your system and 2 for your integrated GPU).

Specs:

CPU

Intel Core i5-4440 CPU @ 3.10GHz

Graphics Card

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 w/ 1.0 GB dedicated ram (upgrading to the GTX 660 soon)

RAM

Just wanted to be sure what FPS I'd run it on when I get the new graphics card (and also curious to see how my PC would have fared had I not decided to upgrade).
