Interested to know if my A10-5757m with 8750m 2gb graphics (can run dual graphics with the APU integrated 8650 + dedicated 8750m) laptop will run Dragon Age Inquisition. Any insight is appreciated.

I'm going to bump this, just to keep it on the front page so we don't get more needless threads.

Hey, everyone! I pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition awhile back on Xbox One then canceled it.

I was wondering how you guys would rate the playability for DA:I on my PC. I understand the specs are not Recommended status for the game (and will not be on Ultra) which it is a real bummer. I would rather place my Xbox One pre-order and get the Xbox One instead of updating to recommended requirements for one game on a laptop. On to the specs! By the way, it's a standard laptop so it's low-end.

My OS is fine: Windows 8

My Free Disk Space is fine: 533 GB free

My Ram is: 4GB total with 3.3 free but I find it very cheap to put another 4GB (since I have an empty slot or add enough GB to where I still have access of 8GB outside of normal use for the OS) to meet the 8GB requirements.

My Video Card: AMD Radeon HD 8550G

This is a sad part for me. I do not really understand where to start. The Recommended Specs.. It meets Pixel Shader version and Vertex Shader Version with 5.0! Also, the minimum Dedicated Video RAM is 512MB and my card has 768MB but Recommended is 2GB. So, I priced around for some Cards but it is too expensive for me ATM. So, I am about 1GB and a 1/4 from meeting the minimum for Recommended Specs. BUT it seems I surpassed the minimum requirements across the board.

The Last and hardest part for me to swallow..

My CPU: AMD A8-5550M APU with Radeon HD Graphics (2.1GHz via Can I Run It)  4-core and I haven't upgraded drives recently, not that I think it would change anything.

As I see it from that website: AMD 4-core with 2.5 GHz minimum requirements... I miss it by .3 GHz.. for minimum

                    Recommended: AMD 6-core with 3.2 GHz requirements... I am shut down. Lol.

So I was looking for your opinions on IF it's operational and where it would stand during settings since I miss a lot of marks. I know this is another stupid question but could it match the graphic output to like the Xbox One? Xbox One's are now 349 in the states and I could pre-order the game and get the Pre Perks but wait to play it until I get the money for the Xone.

Honestly if it's a low grade laptop and an Xbox one I'd go with the xbox one version and save your money trying to get something better in the future. Running at min requirements would look even worse than it would on that console

That's what I was thinking.. I would rather the console if it had better output than my current laptop. I just won't be able to play until I put out the money for the console. I will definitely hold on to it while saving money for the console. I was just hoping to see what people thought of my specs to at least meet console standards. Lol. One side of me can't WAIT so much that I would play it watered down, but I will be vigilant in holding back.. I hope!

The game will be playable with an AMD A8-5550M APU. Probably not in 1080p but the game will run good. Just don't forget to use AMD's Mantle renderer for more speed.

Here is some guy with the same APU playing Battlefield 4, which also uses the Frostbite 3 engine. The game runs good.

This game is getting the special treatment, currently i'm running with this,

CPU = i5-4670k @ 3.4 GHz

RAM = 8 GB

HD = SSD

GPU = GTX 560Ti

But Dragon Age Inquisition deserves better! so next week I'm thinking of getting 2 x GTX 970's overclocked in the hopes of running this @ 4k res on my 55inch 4k TV.

A 290X crossfire setup scales better and has better frame times (= less framedrops resp. less stutter) with the Frostbite 3 engine @ 4K, especially with AMD's Mantle renderer (instead of DirectX). Battlefield 4 uses the same engine as Dagon Age: Inquisition, which is the Frostbite 3 engine.

(BTW, they only tested a 290 Crossfire setup and not a 290X Crossfire setup, the latter being even more powerful. They only benched using DirectX too, AMD's Mantle renderer is much better.)

yeah its a tough choice, 4k on a budget, i'm waiting as long as i can to see if there any price drops before release, I'm still undecided on what to get.

Is 4k really worth it?  It just hasn't caught mainstream attention yet, despite the tech companies try to market it as the Next Big Thing (along with Blu-ray and 3D).  The GTX 970 I'm looking at buying cheap should cope with 1080p 60Hz, which seems to be the current gold standard.  4k is going to need four times the processing power for minimal gain.  :/

4k worth it?

Not IMO.

The technology has issues, scaling, frequency etc..

I use 3 screens at 120hz and the immersion is awesome.

while I would love 4k or 8k or such, the technology isnt good enough for that hz I would want.

A widescreen like the LG 34um95-p with 3440x1440 using IPS panel is a good way to immerse oneself as its really wide for gaming.
eyes and perception works that way, the wideness allows your eyes to not see the sides and that helps immersion.

Holy sh*t.  o.o  I would not want to play a horror game on that thing.

I'm done with 16:9 aspect ratios. My next upgrade is a 3K 21:9 34 inch G-sync 3840x1440 Monitor.

Hopefully those will be out early next year!! It'll be less demanding than a 4K solution, so a single 980 should drive it just fine (a 980 gets 60 FPS at 4K with the new COD game), the immersion factor of a 21:9 monitor is amazing. At 34" the pixel density is still phenomenal, and G-sync means frame variance is irrelevant and there's no latency from Vsync and no screen tearing.

Basically God's monitor. ;)

I have a very old System too. The next Complete Overhaul is planned for Autumn / Winter 2015 when SC is a big Step closer to Release.

- CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 BlackEdition 3.4 GHz 125W Revision

- RAM: 16GB DDR3

- GPU: Radeon HD 5770 1GB VRam

- Monitor: 19" 24" @ 1920*1200 @ DisplayPort

- OS: Windows 7 64-Bit. 24GB Pagefile

- HD: 2 S-ATA3 Standard Hard Drives: OS and Pagefile on HD1 / Games, Software etc. on HD2

Works still very well for me.

I am most likely forced to play on Minimum Settings for the first Time. Well the Story is more important for me anyway :lol:

OK, I posted in the PC Specs thread, but I'd like to post my PC specs here too...

I'm in the process of gathering the parts for a new PC, but I'd like to know if my current one will at LEAST run DAI on minimum settings, or if I need to rush to put my new rig together before release.

Current PC...

CPU: AMD Athlon II X2 255 Processor (2 CPUs) ~3.1GHz

GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series

RAM: 4GB

My new computer will be...

CPU: AMD FX-8350

GPU: Sapphire Tri-X OC Radeon R9 290X

RAM: 12GB

While I am hoping to run the game on High or Ultra with meeting the recommended specs I am more concerned about CPU heat if anyone can help me out. I need to replace my thermal paste and it wouldn't hurt to get a heatsink as I'm running stock but it's been OK until recently.

I don't hit 65C too often with DA series but have with some games. DA 2 is better for me than Origins but  both are in the low 60s. My idle temp is as before and I've not had crashes so I think I'm okay for a bit.

Does anyone know if this one will cause more stress heat then prior games? In other words can I run it for a month or two until I replace my paste and heatsink. The ambient temp will be very cool. My GPU temp is fine and mobo gets to around 34-35C. My heatsink is very hard to put on so I need to do some research, wanting to avoid the experience I had the first time, whereas multiple attempts nearly scratched my motherboard.

My system is:

CPU: AMD FX-8350

GPU: GEFORCE 660 GTX OC -2GB

RAM: 8GB - DDR3

Also will Ultra settings on a 26in. monitor be feasible at 30-45fps? 1080p. I don't think I'll need higher DPS, but want to avoid stuttering or other problems.

Thanks!

Very nice! Will be great for Photoshop and handle upcoming demanding games with no problem.

Here is how a similar laptop with the same GPU runs BF4 at 1080p:

The CPU is a bit weak, but the game will run great if you use AMD's Mantle renderer instead of Direct3D.

So I'm hoping someone can help me. I meet all the requirements for recommended except for my CPU which is AMD A10-5700 APU with Radeon™ HD graphics. I want to get a better CPU (I play GW2 and the CPU is bottle necking me in the game pretty badly) but I need a new motherboard to fit a new cpu in. I was hoping some would could suggest a CPU and motherboard with a budget (no more than 500 USD in total). I want to get 60 fps but having a stable (stable is a big thing for me) frame rate above 30 is livable for me. If it helps my graphics cards is GeForce GTX 660.

HELLO FELLOW PC GOERS. I have a questions! For Nvidia users, I suppose.

How do you install your drivers?

Does everyone just rely on the standard way? I always update with checking the clean install box...but at the end of the installation...it doesn't ask me to restart my computer...isn't it supposed to?

I assume if it doesn't ask me to restart, then something went wrong and it did not install properly.

Is there a way to install properly, if that is the case, or is this normal?
