I own an GTX560Ti before and in no way it can max out The Witcher 2 and what's more 1080p. GTX560Ti is a very old card. I seriously recommend you to upgrade to at least GTX970 or R9 290X to at least last you few years down the road and i can safely say you can most likely play most games on very high settings 1080p 60fps. Of course no max out AA. It will still be fine win a lower 2xMSAA.

As it happens I have the same pc specs as HBziN and believe it or not, TW2 runs very well on a 560TI with only Ubersampling turned off. Even Battlefield 4 runs @ 40 - 60 fps on med/high/1080p on this very system. Hope the same applies to DA:I.

The 750 non ti can run BF4 at Ultra settings at 30 FPS @ 1080p.

He has a better CPU than you though. Still I think 768p is definitely doable at the framerate you want to hit at a mix of medium and high settings.

Thank you! That makes me really glad to see. Maybe I should see if I can run BF4 using that Origin game time if that offer is still up. My biggest concern is the VRAM not holding up well to the texture size. In Thief and Shadow of Mordor I had to drop both the textures down to medium settings as turning would create terrible stuttering as it tried throwing the high textures from the RAM to VRAM (really should have scraped up money for the GTX 750ti oh well) but I could leave the rest of the graphical settings on high without ever dipping below 30fps. If worse comes to worse I'll just lock the framerate at 30FPS and pretend I'm a console peasent :P

My rig as it stands now consists of the following parts:

Intel 4770 @ 3.4 Ghz (standard version with a modified Corsair H60 Liq. Cooler sporting dual fans)

MOtherboard: Maximus Hero 6

GPU: 4 GB EVGA 760 Dual FTW

RAM: 32 GB DDR3; G Skill RipJawsX 1600s

SSD: 500 GB Samsung EVO 840

PSU: Corsair HX750  80+GOLD

Case: CoolerMaster HAF X Full Tower

Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster P2770; 1920x1080 @ 1ms

I know my rig is considerably above the Rec. Specs...but there's always the nagging doubt in the back of my mind that I'd have the downgrade the settings and res to Medium or something like that, or have tons of lag.  Thoughts?

I'm sure I'll be perfectly fine....but....my fears won't be put to rest until I get the game in my hands and see things for myself....that's just he pessimist in me

I should've been clearer about the settings I ran TW2 in: I didn't max out everything, maybe I set shadows to medium or something, and I'm pretty sure I set MSAA to 2x. That being said I never noticed that much of a difference with better AA. I value performance over graphics, and framerate seems to take a big hit from ubersampling, supersampling and whatever (don't know the specific names.). Same thing for shadows: performance takes a big hit for a small gain (in my opinion) in graphical fidelity.
I don't have money to upgrade my GPU right now, this kind of stuff is really expensive here in Brazil. I almost don't play computer games anymore, just don't have enough time, with college and everything. And my CPU is even older than my GPU, so I'd rather upgrade it first.

As it happens I have the same pc specs as HBziN and believe it or not, TW2 runs very well on a 560TI with only Ubersampling turned off. Even Battlefield 4 runs @ 40 - 60 fps on med/high/1080p on this very system. Hope the same applies to DA:I.

Yea, it's pretty surprising how well my PC can still run a lot of games well on high settings. Really really hoping that's the case with DA:I. I'm really hyped for this one, it's been a while since I've felt this way for a game hahah.
How can I compare the graphics of this game to those of BF4? Is it more demanding GPU/CPU-wise? Or kinda the same thing?

As a follow up yes an i3-4130 @ 3.4GHz and a GTX 750 1GB VRAM can run BF4 at 768p 40-60FPS on ultra settings. Granted I only played through the first level but it was really smooth the whole way through. I did disable AA though. Hopefully this means I'll be able to run DA:I at the highest :D or just under!

I was actually getting horrible stuttering when I first tried to play it, but I looked the issue up and discovered that uninstalling the Nvidia HD Audio driver was the solution and the game ran perfect after. (Heads up in case the error persists through DA:I)

Hello,

As a total newcomer to this forum, I'll certainly post a question asked and answered a thousand times already. From what I read about the specs of the game, mine are correct:

- processor / sound card / video card OK

- Win7 OK

The only problem is that my Win7 is a 32-bit one. Will that be a serious problem for the game? Will I be able to play it?

Thanks for your answers!

Ah, you'll need Windows x64.  You're going to have to upgrade I'm afraid but on the upside you'll be able to utilize more RAM.

Yeah, you're stuck needed to swap your OS for the 64 bit version. The retail version of windows 7 had both the 32bit and 64 bit versions int he box, IIRC, so if you bought a retial windows 7 you might be ok (though you'll have to go over the whole OS swap process - save your files, make sure you have install exe's for your programs elsewhere and install the new OS.

Otherwise a 64 bit OEM copy of windows 8.1 is like $90 unfortunately. There might be discounts if you're a student.

You won't be able to launch a 64 bit game on a 32 bit PC. Same for a DX 11 game on a DX 10 or 9 PC.

You can easily upgrade to 64 bit by booting with the Windows 7 Installation Disc, or if you don't have it, you can download the proper Windows 7 ISO file (64 Bit Home Premium, 64 bit Ultimate, depending on which version of Windows 7 you have) and burn it on a empty CD. You can also use a 4 GB+ USB but USB version is harder.

I recently upgraded my 32 Bit Windows 7 Home Premium to 64 Bit, just for this game. You can find a more detailed explanation on the Microsoft homepage.

I'm curious how critical a quad core system will be for the game.

I have an old intel core 2 duo @2.3ghz using a GTX550Ti (1 gig vram) and 8 gigs ram.  It runs basically every game I've ever thrown at it perfectly smooth at 1920x1080 and usually high settings. Witcher 2 ran flawlessly at 60fps on high settings (not ultra), Skyrim runs flawless with nearly 100 mods, high res texture packs, ENB visual mods - all at 1920x-1080 and a solid 60fps in most situations.

Guild wars 2 seems to be the only game my PC struggles a little with (as in I cant get over 30fps in typical gameplay settings due to the number of players on screen, running on medium settings).

I wont be able to try DAI until several weeks at best after launch, and I'll probably try it on the other PC in my house that is a quad core.. but I am curious of my trusty Core 2 duo can run it moderately well (even at 30fps, medium settings perhaps? Would even be fine dropping to 1600x900 resolution). I guess I'm just hoping the system requirements aren't due to poor engine optimization, because I can't see why DAI would stress my current PC much when few other games can.

Guess I'll see, maybe we'll hear on the forums after launch from people with 2 core cpus on how the game performs.

I believe there is some sort of free trial for BF4 at the moment. Otherwise, you might try searching for youtube videos of people running BF4 with your Core 2 duo. There are some settings you can adjust to reduce CPU load as well.

Hey all, if anyone doesn't mind, I'm not too great at computer hardware in general. I was wondering, is a Nvidia Geforce GTX 590 good enough for Dragon Age Inquisition? That's my graphics card, my other important specs are: Intel® Core™ i7-2600K CPU @ 3.4GHz and 16GB RAM. Thank you in advance.

You suck. :P   I bought my GTX 780 three weeks before the new 970/980 came out.  I wanted to punch myself in the face so hard....so I bought myself another 780 and put 'em in SLI.  And I'm still rocking air cooled.  B)   ....I'm such a dork.

This may seem like a silly question, but will I be able to play DA:I with a dual core processor?  It's speed is 2.8 GHZ and for comparison, I can play skyrim, but the minimum specs call for quad core.  My graphics card is an ATI Mobility Radeon 5650.  Ram says 3.8, but it's actually 4 (could upgrade to 8, but am buying a desktop in a few months).

I've been holding out until the last minute to commit to a new graphics card. I was going to go for a GTX970, but after seeing those benchmarks for DAI, I'm wondering if I should go for an R9 290X for the Mantle support, since my CPU is a bit meh (3570@3.4). Thoughts?

I was wondering if I'll be able to run the game with a mix of medium/high/ultra settings. Someone told me that because of my VRAM I won't be able to play it on ultra even at 720p. I don't want everything on ultra, just one or two settings. I don't mind playing at 30fps and with AA off if that means I can get some settings on ultra.

Intel i5-3570 3.40GHz Core Quad
6 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650, 1GB
Resolution: 1280x720

Thanks in advance!

I suggest to wait for the 8GB 970, it's coming soon.

It's probably going to be a steep price increase however. (If it's not I'll be surprised. Happy though.)

Just want to say a big thank you to everyone on this and the other PC spec threads that have followed up with answering questions about specs and the like.

Been a big help reading through all this techno muble jumble, and I have learned enough to be slightly dangerous. (at least to my pocketbook).
