Good intentions mean nothing when it comes to this topic. Accuracy is paramount. I am sorry if it comes across as abrasive (it is not intended to be) but some of the things you are writing may affect people's choice in buying the game or cause them to become overly concerned when they shouldn't.

It is simple. The minimum and recommend specs are there. If one doesn't have these they may or may not be able to play the game. The only way to find out is when benchmarks are done and released or take a personal risk as a consumer. I need to back and find your comment on the 8350 which *implied* it may not be that great of a card.

No its not that cut and dry as you even say yourself in your comment. So what have I been doing? breaking down the specifics... there are different configurations for each card. If the card has 1GB RAM, then running the game on high is not gonna be what people expect.

It sounds to me that you are trying to do BioWare's job in getting people to buy the game. I am in no way deterring people from buying the game, I'm buying the game and LOVE BioWare. What I am doing is simply answering peoples questions about their setup to the best of my ability.

So please if you are that biased that you cannot give answers straight, then maybe you should leave answering these questions to those of us who have experience with it.

I know my pc is crap, especially the card now, but the question is, will it be able to run DAI at all? It seems to meet minimal requirements, but I'm still kinda worried:

Intel core i5-750 2,66 Ghz

RAM 4 Gb

GeForce GTS 250 512Mb

I'm concerned about your GPU, in fact that GPU may prevent you from playing (512 MB). other than that, you would get away with playing the game easily. Of course try it if you can or want to, but an upgrade on the GPU is pretty much necessary

Yeah, well... If I had the money right now, but I don't.

I guess I'll just pray then.

Check Ebay. You'd be surprised at what price you could land a good GPU for this game.

I just sold my old 570 for $80

I saw some better ones go for around $100 - $180 (GTX 670, 680 and more).

Just a thought. Even Amazon.com

I even bought a 680 for my son for around $180 when retail is about $290+ even as high as $500+

It sounds to me that you are trying to do BioWare's job in getting people to buy the game.

This shows me that you don't read.

I said: "People that don't meet the specs should wait to buy the game until more information is available, such as this for Skyrim:"

As far as me answering questions, I expect I am far more qualified than you having been involved with computers personally and professionally since 1987 and why I called you out on it. I have given suggestions but speculation from someone who admittedly doesn't have all the answers is useless, or worse, damaging.

If you can support your information with facts, I have no issue with it, why would I?

I do not get "wowed" by how long someone has been doing something, because those same years could have been spent doing it wrong. So please let's not play show and tell and who has the longer tools...

In the end, even if I indulge you, the information I gave and have been given is not nearly off the mark. In fact it is more harsh reality than anything else.

It is good advice to wait before purchasing if you're not sure... You didn't see me say anything advising against that or telling people they cannot run the game. I am giving feedback based on the questions asked. If they want to know if they can run it on HIGH, then I'll give a realistic answer. People are not on here asking for the hell of it, they want advice and insight which will HELP them make their own decision... how is what I'm doing wrong???

If you ask me, you are simply picking a fight for reasons I am unsure of, but this is my last reply to those who question what I have been saying... simply put I gave an opinion and everyone has a right to take it or leave it. I am not end all be all on the subject and I state that regularly, so that's the end of that.

I will however continue to give my feedback to those who ask as it is just a little more info to help them make their decisions and understand where their PCs stand as far as playing the way they want to...

The CPU is not top of the line, but from what I know it should do you fine.

The GPU is comparable to the GeForce 780 and you have more RAM than you need.

I think you'll be coasting, but don't quote me because I am not 100% knowledgeable about that particular CPU. I'm more knowledgable about Intel CPUs and Nvidia cards

yea its not the best but i figured with the 8 cores and the decent GPU with ram Ill be good for ultra thanks for the heads up

I prefer facts to crystal balls. Sorry you don't get that nor have enough respect for others to give accurate information, only guesswork.

How much of an indication is BF4? I tested it today and it ran very good even tough my card is a bit under the min req for Inquisition

Oh I was more concerned about the eventual CW. But I'm not too worried and I have 14 days of withdrawal period.

But yeah, pretty excited to try that on my new monitor. :)

That's a good question. I cannot say for sure, but every game is an individual so I wouldn't judge by another game. If your system is under the specs for BF4 then maybe you're onto something otherwise I wouldn't put much faith in that.

BF4 uses the same engine and has the same recommended specs (just higher VRAM for BF4), so your performance should be similar for Inquisition.

So I have an XB1 and the highest end Macbook Pro and am wondering which will run it better since the xbox will be held to 900p and my macbook will probably only run it on medium/high? Will my Macbook be better than the 900p on the XB1?

Thanks

Macbook

16GB RAM

Nvidia GT 750M

I7 Quad Core

I have a question: When someone refers to "AAA" games or gaming, what do they mean? Is AAA an acronym for something?

AAA is just industry speak for gaming equivalent of the movie blockbuster i.e. huge budget and - necessarily - aiming for widest possible audience.

It just means triple A. Refers to games with the highest development budgets and levels of promotion. Kind of like a film studios yearly Oscar contender.

I was thinking about buying a new laptop for DA I and I was wondering if this was a good choice. I'm not too tech savvy and I'm worried that my current laptop will be disappointing . ASUS ROG GL551JM-DH71 15.6" Gaming Laptop w/ GeForce GTX860M 2GB GDDR5 and Optimus Technology, 1 TB 7200RPM HDD
  •
  • Intel Core i7-4710HQ 2.5GHz (Turbo to 3.5 GHz).
  • 1TB 7200RPM Hard Drive. 16GB RAM.
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M 2GB GDDR5 with Optimus Technology.
  • 3x USB 3.0, 1x HDMI, 1x MiniDisplay. SDXC Card Reader. 802.11 A/B/G/N. Gigabit Ethernet Port. 720P HD Webcam.
  • 15.6" Full HD Display. Aluminum Body ROG Signature Chass

My current laptop is:

Windows 8.1

Processor AMD A10-5745M APU with Radeon HD Graphics

2.10 GHz

RAM 6.00 GB

64-bit Operating System, x64 based processor

So my laptop meets the minimum requirements exactly, except for the graphics card, which is a little older:

Q9000 Intel Core2Quad @ 2.00GHz

Radeon HD 4850 512MB

4 GB ram

Win7 64bit

1680 x 1050 resolution

I don't mind playing at lowest settings and turning down the resolution, I'm just super worried if the gpu will make it playable at all. Note that it's a laptop so it's not comparable to a desktop 4850, probably more like a 4830. I've tried Battlefield 4 and it runs fine unless there's busy combat or when things blow up, that's when the stuttering gets almost unbearable, sometimes hanging several seconds long. What do you think?

What is your budget for the laptop?

If possible I would try to get something with 970m and i7 quad core, for example this one is $1200: http://www.xoticpc.c...ov7-p-7690.html

It's a bit over budget. I was hoping, praying to the maker that I could find something good for around $700. to  $900. The DA games are the only games I play so I'm on the fence about getting something new or not.I'm really hoping to find a super black friday/cyber monday deal so I can justify the expense to my husband. Thanks for the suggestion I need all the help I can get as looking at specs just make me go HUH?? and I realize 'm too old/dumb to make sense of what they mean.

So my PC's specs are:

CPU: AMD Phenom™ II X4 945 Processor

CPU Speed: 3.0 GHz

Video Card: GeForceGT 440

RAM: 8.2 GB

OS: Microsoft WIndows 7 Home Premium Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 64 bit

Free Disc Space: 569.2 GB

Can You Run it says I can play on minimum, but I want to make sure. I was told I might have to buy a better graphics card, but I was wondering what other recommendations were? Thanks!
