If i went down to 900 or 720 do you think i i would get a better FPS?
Unless you have a CPU bottleneck, yes.

I'm going to build a new PC by the end of this month, here's hoping I can run on ultra @ 1920x1080. What do you guys think? and thank you very much for the answer. ![]()
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790 4.40Ghz
RAM: 16GB
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 4GB, DDR5

Well, I know that my bits & pieces PC can run DA:I, but I am not sure if it will be sufficient for 1080p on ultra details...
i5-2500 @3.30 GHz
EVGA GTX 770SC, 2GB
8GB Ram
I suppose I might have to turn down the maximum settings (which I would hate), with CPU and VRAM probably being my bottlenecks.
Or am I overestimating the requirements of DA:I?

If you want to get the system now, instead of waiting like naughty suggested, your system will absolutely rock inquisition, don't worry about that.
One recommendation that I would personally make is to spend the extra few bucks to pick up the 4790K, especially if you plan on getting a Z97 motherboard for the system. The K series processor in this case gives you an extra ~11% clock speed increase, as well as additional overclocking headroom. Basically, you're paying an extra $30 or so for a much longer lasting piece of silicon. You may not want to overclock now, but down the road, it might make the difference between having to spend hundreds on a new CPU, and just overclocking your old one.
just my two cents.
I suggest to wait for the 980 with 8GB VRAM, should be out soon.
I'm not sure it's going to be out and arrive where I live soon, but my build are strong enough to run at Ultra @1920x1080 with a good fps right? Thank you for your suggestion anyway. ![]()

Well, I hope that system can last until 2016 arrive since nowadays I play certain game that I'll be sure spend a lot of time with but not everything, and thank you very much for the answer. I'm a bit worried that it won't be strong enough to run on Ultra with a good fps.
Thank you for the advice. I'll definitely think about it. ![]()
*EDIT* Argh, never mind me and my clumsiness. I forgot to put "K" after 4790. I'm aiming to get that one, but thanks for the advice anyway. ![]()
Processor= Intel Core i7-3740 CPU @ 2.70GHZ

Total computer idiot here. What settings should i be looking at playing on please?

What's the resolution of your laptop?
For 1366x768 those specs run BF4 at 35 FPS on high and 50 FPS on medium.
If you your lappy is 1080p and you want to run at that native res, you're probably looking at locked 30 FPS at roughly medium settings.
So, I'm running an intel i5 2500k with 8Gb of ram. My only concern is if my VGA memory will be a problem when trying to run the game on higher graphics. I'm currently with a Sapphira 7770 vapor-x with 1gb VRAM. The recommended settings says 2gb of video. Its time to upgrade my VGA or should I wait and see how the game plays ?

Definitely wait and see. You might have to skip high end anti-aliasing methods for post processing ones, and you might have to set textures to medium, but other wise you should be fine.
If you're unhappy, luckily, a nice step up for you would be the $140 2 Gb GTX 750ti or the $180 2Gb R9 270x which are pretty inexpensive upgrades that should bump you up nicely in performance.
I would say don't spend more than that on anything yet, unless you are willing to go for the $330 GTX 970 which should last you the rest of this gen. Otherwise, wait to see what AMD offers next year.

So if i lower my screen res, I can play it with better graphics?
Hello all,
I am not too great with computer specs and am hoping somebody with a bit more knwoledge may be able to help me. So, when DAI was revealed to be using the same engine as BF4 I assumed that I would be fine as I have played BF4 since its release without any major problems. However, last night, I used http://www.systemrequirementslab.com and it revealed that my CPU speed did not meet the minimum requirements. I am hoping that somebody may be able to give me insight into the accuracy of this, and if so I will begin to look for new hardware. My specs are below:
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00 GHz
Video Card: AMD Radeon HD 5700 Series x2
RAM: 8.2 GB
Thanks!

You can also scale the resolution down ingame as well for the same gains, so you can keep your desktop res where you want.

I'll follow you advice and wait the game release and depending on how the game plays I'll upgrade my VGA. The thing is, here in Brazil an inexpensive upgrade like a R9 270x will cost me (converting my local currency to US Dollars) $300 . So every upgrade must be carefully calculated.
Well, thanks for the tip friend.

The problem is that it asks for a quad core processor, and you are runninng with a Core 2 Duo (two cores). So you might want to upgrade your pc as a whole.
It seems that i will need to buy PC instead PS4 (my old friend is slowly dying
).
So i have a question, what should i buy?
FX-8320
8GB Ram (1600)
R9 270 OC (2 GB)
or
FX-8320
4GB Ram (1600)
R9 280 OC (3GB)
I would like to play at least on high setting without AA, my screen resolution is 900P.
P.S I could upgrade my RAM in the next year, since my budget these days is pretty bad, so i would like to know what should i do. Oh and also, i'm sure many of you ask "Why no intel?", my answer is price, FX-8320 is $35 than i5-4440 (which is a lot for me). Thanks for the help! ![]()
I'm rather curious about my laptop as well.
I have i7-3520M @ 2.9GHz
RAM: 8.1GB
GPU: Nvidia GT 640M LE 2 GB.
Since i7 supports HT I should be able to get 4 core performance at low levels, and I'm not into running ultra any how. I'm more worried about actually making that cut.
Oh wait, screenres is 1600X900.
Damn, I'm worried about this now.

Your mistake was using systemrequirementlabs. It's an awful tool. Technically, your CPU *is* below recommended, but as you've experienced with BF4, the engine handles it well enough. Sure, you'd benefit from an upgrade, but I'd say it should still run decently if you were satisfied with your BF4 performance.

640m is not very strong for gaming, your laptop won't handle 900p very well. However, should be playable if you reduce resolution to 768p or 720p and fiddle with settings.
Here are some people running BF4 with 640m:
So, is it sad that I consider that exactly how I want my games to run? Smooth but low, because I start seeing aliasing all over the place. It seems comfortable, but not too sharp. If that's the performance I can expect from DAI, I'd be golden. I'd be happier off not dropping my res, though. Is that low or medium? I can't tell, really.

Let's see. I'm just looking forward to confirmation that you can play and it will be mostly fluid. The rest can wait. Those people at systemrequirements think I can get past the medium, so let's see. I'm hoping it does. I've been waiting a long time for DAI.
BF4 seems to need the same GPU components with differing processors. I'm not sure how far that goes into making a difference.
I know my CPU and memory are okay. I'm pretty ignorant about graphics cards, but from my searching it looks okay too?
