Quick question. I'm on a laptop with an Intel i7 3630 QM at 2.4, but it has Intel Turbo Boost/Speedboost which it says will enable it to adjust processor speed as needed, up to 3.4. Will this work with it, or is the fact that it starts as 2.4 limit me to mediocre speeds? I plan to run the game at 1920 X 1080.

And as for my graphics card and RAM, I have a Geforce GT 650M. Will that affect things? I notice that these system requirement things always talk about desktop graphics cards, not so much laptops. I think it has 2 GB of memory for it, so that's no problem.

I have 8 gigs of regular RAM.

this is what one of the systems sites told me. What do you guys think. It's a HP laptop and I'm really Tech ignorant. Thanks for any advice.

You should be able to run it but on lower res and lower settings.

As long as you have enough power in your power supply and don't reach the heat limit, my understanding is that when your CPU is under load you'll stay at the maximum 4-core boost clock. You can use Throttlestop to force it to run at the max speed whenever you want, even if a game isn't using enough of your CPU.

Might be sluggish at 1080p with your 650m, but should be playable without MSAA. You can always reduce resolution/settings if you want to run it faster.

Yep, the 750ti should get you at about PS4 graphics and performance levels. If you want more yeah, you'll need to spend more. My advice would be to splurge a bit and get a GTX 970 for $330. It's an amazing performance value and will handle games for the rest of the gen at 1080p. My friend does well in most games (60 FPS or more) at even 1440p with that card.

I'm also running at 1440p, but with a 780ti, he gets fairly close to my performance level for like $250 less that what I paid :(

Thanks so much for the info!  :D

One issue here is I'd definitely have to upgrade my power supply as well, and I have no knowledge with installations of graphics cards or PSU's.  I'm afraid I'd be spending close to $500 on the whole upgrade when it was all said and done if I had to get someone to help with install.  This is going to be a tough decision in the coming month :o    The 750ti just makes things so easy...Plug and play if you will :)   Very tough choice.

I know I can run it, I'm above recommended, but do you all figure I'll be good for max settings, 1080p, 60 fps?

GTX 780 3 GB

AMD FX 9370 @4.5 ghz

16 GB DDR3

Windows 7 Ultimate

Installed on an SSD

My specs are

CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-2670QM CPU @ 2.20GHZ

Memory: 6GB RAM

GPU: Geforce GT 555m

I know I'm not at recommended specs, but how bad is it?

Win. 7, 64-bit OS

EVGA GTX 760 2G

Intel® Core™ i7 CPU    950 @ 3.07GHz

6.00 GB RAM

SSD 250G

I think I should be able to run it without issue.  Just need to possibly tweak a few things.

What's the display resolution on your laptop?

1080p would be slow but 900p probably fine if you tweak the settings, reduce MSAA etc.

Hello everyone,

I thank you for starting this thread. I need your assistance please:

Processor: Intel® Core™2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz

RAM: 4.0 GB

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260

Windows 7 64-bit home premium

LG IPS 23 inch monitor 1920 x 1080 resolution

I also took Wulfrem's advice & checked out BF$ videos compatible to my GPU. The videos look good.

I am mainly concerned about my CPU.

Do I have a prayer of running this game on medium settings?

Thanks

Thank you much

Hi everyone!

My specs are

GPU: Nvidia Geforce 820M 2GB
RAM: 8 gb
Resolution: 1366x768

The cpu has only two cores but it has hyperthreading and from what I gathered I should be fine, I think. My biggest concern is the GPU. Game-debate says I can't even play on minimum because of it, Systemrequirementslabs says I can. Since I don't trust them very much I'd like your advice. I'd like to run the game at medium without worrying about overheating, otherwise I think I'll have to get a PS4...

Thanks for your help!

Yeah, you won't have any problems running everything on ultra 1080p

Actually, all of your components are pretty much just above the minimum, Neither your GPU or your CPU are really more powerful than each other. You will be able to run the game pretty well, but with mostly medium/low settings at 1080p.

your biggest issues is that your entire system is pretty old, so if you decided to upgrade anything but the RAM, it would probably be a full system rebuild. But with your current system, you should be pretty much fine for the time being.

Not sure if I should post my specs, I'm pretty sure I can't run it on anything higher than "Medium/High", so, here goes nothing.

CPU: Intel Core i5-2300 2.80 GHz

RAM: 4 GB

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti.

OS: Windows 7 64-bit.

Resolution: 1366x768

The display resolution on your monitor is quite low, should be no problem.

Greetings to everyone in Thedas. Things are a mess. The templars mages meeting is getting near!  I would be grateful if someone could give me a 2nd opinion on the specs below.

Laptop

CPU: Intel Quad Core I5 3230  2.6 ghz

GPU: GeForce 740M 2 gb ram.

RAM: 6 GB DDR 3

Resolution: 1368 X 768

I know I can play it on minimum settings. What I 'm looking  for here, is information on whether I can try settings (and which) for better quality!

Thanks in advance and thumbs up to the OP's idea.

CPU: Intel Core i7  870 @ 2,93 GHz

RAM: 4 GB

GPU: ATI Radeon HD 5800 / 1 GB DDR5

Resolution: 1920x1080

I guess I need some more RAM. But my main concern is if the GPU will suffice, cause I can't afford a new one right now.

Well, I guess it shouldn't. And my graphics card seems to get along with Frostbite 2 just fine, judging by those videos.

Thanks for the help.

Seems I'm halfway between the minimum and recommended reqs, with the exception of my video card (Radeon 5770, 1GB) which is apparently ranked lower than the minimum required Radeon 4870. We'll see how it goes.

Could the devs comment on whether or not this game takes advantage of computers with more than one core?

BF4 seems to utilize up to 6 threads, so I would think yes.

Time to end my lurking streak for this awesome thread! I would love some help upgrading my mid range pc in order to run DA:I on ultra.

My current specs:

CPU: Intel Core i5 2500k @ 3.30 ghz

GPU: Geforce GTX 560ti 1024 dedicated video memory

RAM: 8gb

Resolution: 1920x1080

So the obvious answer is that I will need to upgrade my video card. My question is, is everything else good enough or should I look into upgrading other components as well? I've also seen a few people in this thread mention power supply. Will this effect the upgrades I can make? How do I find out what my power supply is and is there a way of calculating how much power supply I will need?

Thanks in advance to anyone who answers my questions :)

I know I'll be able run DA:I, and at a reasonable level, but if I upgrade the RAM to 16GB, is that going to provide a meaningful advantage over 8GB? I know it does for ordinary PC software, but not sure on gaming. Don't want to upgrade my MB or CPU.
