Wrong, it will charge straight forward against something big and dangerous and try to headbutt it, resulting in it's death.
I always had this association in mind between the Krogans and Nelson from the Simpson TV show. The same type IMO

This is IMO also a problem that mainly started in ME2. Our main insight into the Krogan in ME1 is actually Wrex. Back after playing ME1 (and reading Revelation, which also features a Krogan bounty hunter as a primary antagonist), I was under the impression that the Krogan were not the cliche "strong but dumb" species but that they were actually quite thoughtful and intelligent and their lack of scientists, artists and other intellectual civilians was more due to the cultural effects of the genophage than anything else.
Unfortunately, especially in ME2, they are portrayed as just another savage race for the most part (athough there are some other instances, e.g. when Maelon acknowladges that they could be their culture could be thriving if it weren't for the genophage). At least with the talk about the ancient Krogan, ME3 tried to make them a bit more sophisticated again but still, they are very much portrayed as mostly brutes.
Sure, they started the rebellions (which was in no small part a situation they got firced into because of their high birth rates) and they are warlike and aggressive, due to their evolution on Tuchanka but at lest in the beginning of the ME series, I thought indications are that they are also intelligent.
That's why I think curing the genophage, at least with Wrex is absolutely fine because they will understand that their high birth rates are a problem and that after replenishing their numbers, there may be voluntary birth control, solving the problem, as the Krogan are intelligent enough to realise that it is a problem for the future of their culture.
The races in the MEU are largely unexplored, only the fringes and "humanized" aspects are visited. Why humanize a huge grumpy lizard/gorn? lol

Krogan? mentality?
if Krogan had mentalities we would be in a serious trouble.
I've never felt that the krogan were just violent thugs. In many ways that perception is justified by the fact that theirs is a violent culture and violence is an integral part of their way of life (as you'd expect from a species with natural plate armour and one that lives on such a hostile planet). However, I felt there was so much more to the krogan than just warriors or grunts for hire... As someone said earlier, their violence is more the result of the effects of the genophage. But before the genophage they were something more. That's why I included a krogan engineer OC in my fanfic. In my story he's friends with Gabby and Kenneth, and even has an interest in dancing! The krogan could be something other than thugs for hire.
You know those lizards - can sit all day quietly in one place and within one blink of an eye erupt to frantic activity (like headbutting silly people making bad jokes about Krogan).
All they do is fight. Can't they play chess instead? ![]()
Chess is for girly men Krogan are too busy having actual wars, with nukes and breeding and eating Salarians and drinking liquefied Turians and breeding.
I don't really buy the argument that krogans are violent savages. On the contrary, I just believe many of them are immature, and this is largely due to the Salarians discovering them. The krogans, much like the drell, were behind technologically with respect to other races. When dealing with a civilization, you do not want society to outpace technology, as it will lead to stagnation, but you also don't want the technology to outpace society as it will lead to adverse consequences. Mordin talks about this extensively in ME2 and how the salarians giving krogans ships and technology before they were ready induced them to use this technology they didn't understand or appreciate for nefarious intentions. Had the salarians not interfered, it's likely the krogans would have developed a different "mentality" where the society and technology would have developed simultaneously.
