Um... You're going down a very, VERY bad road here, friend. You're not only insulting the people who are trying to explain why they took out the Mako, you're also insulting the people who MADE Mass Effect! You don't like the fact they took away the Mako? Fine, don't complain about it here. Don't even play the damn game! Have you even played the game, yet? For all you know it could be an improvement! Just seriously, I understand your concern, but insulting us won't bring back your precious Mako. Also, the Beavis and Butthead thing wasn't funny. Its not even a proper joke.
I going down? I think you choose and going down wrong way with that casual thigs. I won't buy casual (not best) shooter. I want to buy nice sci-fi rpg (Like KOTOR or ME1). I don't want to buy the game with boring monotonous scan planets and casual shooter gameplay like interactive movie. I think the game LOST PLANET much better as shooter than MASS EFFECT 2. I think very old game STAR CONTROL 2 much interesting than ME2 as RPG. Thats all.
BTW. I dont like when main enemy is robots. Looks like main scenary writer play only with transformers too many years.

Ok well the way I see it is if the Mako was the highlight of your Mass Effect experience then you need to go back and replay Mass Effect before ME2 comes out.

I agree, driving the MAKO just got interesting by the minute. By the time I was searching for my last league medallion and heavy metal, I couldn't contain myself for all the joy and interest of driving uphill with terrible controls for half an hour.
Mass Effect is pretty much the best 360 game so far, but collecting with the MAKO was a nightmare.

It sucks that the Hammerhead is DLC. RPGs are supposed to be single player. I don't have Xbox Live. I'm punished because I don't?
Would it have killed them to put this on the disc? Or maybe we should be able to download the DLC to a RwDVD via PC and then install it from that to the 360.
:'(
There will probably be a free 72 hour code for XBL in the box... a lot of good games seem to include these.

After launch, BioWare will release another DLC pack for Mass Effect 2[/i] that introduces the Hammerhead, a new vehicle in the Mass Effect[/i] universe. This agile hover tank features improved handling on rough terrain and maneuvers deftly in combat -- a necessity for players traveling across harsh planetary environments throughout the galaxy. In addition to this new vehicle, BioWare will release new missions and unique in-game items, including Cerberus Assault Armor which boost shields, health and heavy weapon ammo and the M-22 Eviscerator Shotgun

Having seen the new exploration and planet landing part of the game in some posted playthroughs some of that frustration is gone. You only now go down to the planet IF there is something worth exploring. Mineral collection is done from space. And at least mineral collection now has a point in that you can research with those minerals. However the 'grinding' aspect of mineral collection is going to be a factor here now. I can see that you'll be spending hours collecting minerals from planets and going back and forth for the item that allows you to collect them. How much you ultimately need I do not see yet but considering that some research is needed to improve your chances on the final mission it does appear that you will need to do some of this even if you do not like it that much. Hopefully for those of you in that category it is not too much. For us completionists I can see that easily we'll be spending 20 hours or so collecting.

If you do NOT buy a new copy of Mass Effect 2, and you want to be able to get DLC for your ME2 copy, you CAN download DLC, but you will have to pay for it.
OR
Spend $15.oo and buy the DLC network pipeline, "The Cerberus Network" which periodically will grant Free DLC packs here and there
This is why it just makes more sense to buy a new copy of Mass Effect 2, which is exactly the intention of the network, to make profits go where they should, to Bioware
------------
I can't believe I'm going to explain how to download DLC....
-------
All you need to download DLC is an ethernet cable, which if you can read this, then you should be covered.
With that ethernet cable, plug it into your XBOX and make a new XBOX LIVE SILVER account.
That's Free
Yes, Free, so you shouldn't have to whine about that

Also I'm with you on one aspect. While I do not miss the Mako I also think EA trying to dry the used games marked is fail. When I'm buying the licence for a single player game I'm used to buy the FULL game and not only 80% in the box and the rest to DL...
Well, >I< can get used to not buying games anymore - let's see how long EA can.
AND ME2 isn't much of an RPG any more. While the first part has been looked down to as a shooter with RPG elements, it's now basically a shooter with story.
Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with a shooter with story. But please stop calling it an RPG!
It WAS a good move to get rid of the old character development. Let's be honest, it wasn't worth the points anyway.
So in ME3 I think they'll get rid of it completely and go the JRPG auto level up route.
They already removed the inventory, getting rid of char development ist just logical.

No, it's not that. I have mobile broadband right now, not home broadband. I can't connect to Xbox Live at the moment.
Will the DLC stay free? As in, it won't suddenly start costing a week after release?

As long as you bought it new, I believe you get the codes, which make it free for you.

Exploration of planets its hard work! NOT FUN for idiots like Beavis and Butthead. And that verry intersting part of gameplay for any man who love sci-hi!
You sir must have a sad sad life.
