yea i really loved the mako once i figured out how to do 360's and 540's off jumps. you can also land perfect 180's on flat ground.

The mako was the worst part of the combat in ME2. Planet exploration was a short-lived thrill which grew boring after ten minutes. The mako didn't leave up as your character did, so vehicle battles were harsh on Hardcore and Insanity. I'm half-glad they took the vehicle out, but quite shocked they did so, too. I thought planet roaming would be a mainstay in the franchise, but at least there'll be no more, "Geth Incursions," or Noveria, "Aleutsk Valley," missions.

Mako=****ty part of gameplay, in my eyes.

It first of all had horrible controls, took forever to take down something with it, and then I get punished in exp for using it?

No thanks, I'm glad it's gone. No more going to look for "anomalies" and all that crap.

As for the "lost" RPG elements, they haven't been lost.

They did this so that when you upgrade your powers, you actually get to SEE the upgrade. It's not the same thing, just a little souped up; when you upgrade, it'll be a noticable difference, and a reward for waiting to use the points on a better skill than dumping them in another skill that you don't necessarily need at the moment.

I for one will be missing the Mako and ME1's pointless planet exploration :(

Unless the Hammerhead and new exploration system are be better.

And why is there bullet travel time now? Hand cannon rounds are precious, I shouldn't have to lead targets -__-

There is bullet travel time now? Great! So much for the mass accelerator weaponry and hypervelocity ammunition. I suspected as much seeing the tracers flying around of all the rainbow colors.
I guess it's good for gameplay too, just like the thermal sink ammo. And Miranda's lovely shapes wrapped in a rocket blast without any armor around them (thank God they are digital!)
Bye-bye sci-fi. Rest in pieces, Mass Effect One.

The word "fail" has lost all meaning thanks to the internet.

The lack of 'MAKO' missions such as we had on Noveria, Feros and Ilos are one of the "shocked they are gone" concerns I have with ME2. They made a nice change of pace from the foot combat and as such should not have been given up for the ME2 main game. The other things we did with the MAKO though did mean that the whole vehicle travel aspect for exploration had to be looked at and it did seem as if the HAMMERHEAD was going to fill that role. Its nice that it is still there but to find its not a part of the main game is a big disappointment. Choices had to be made because of disk space limitations but too much of the ME1 game core does seem to have been pushed off to the side.

I cry with crocodile tears. YOU KILL ALL GAMEPLAY! Right now ME2 looks like game for casual idiots who like play in games on i-phones.

AND! Where the RPG elements? 4 levers per Perk? Its a joke? OR you make ME2 for mobile phones? I see the verry, verry bad rpg from BIOWARE!

No.  Bioware is Canadian.  We are incapable of doing anything wrong.

Go away.

Uninformed post is uninformed. You really have *no* idea what you're talking about.

Please enlighten me as of what part of my post you think I'm uninformed:

The uncorrect spelling of Lichtenstein.
My opinion that getting rid of the Mako is not a bad thing.
The widely known and all around admitted strategy of first day DLC locked to an online account as a way to discourage buying the game used.
The no longer present inventory. (Well at least not in the sense of "I can access it at any time during a mission")
Half the "Skills" per Character.

Also if you'd read my post carefully, you'd see that I am in no way calling Mass Effect a bad game. I have too much fun with it to do so.
But it *is* moving away from something I would call an RPG.

Honestly, I didn't like the Mako. Now, in it's role as a 'ground assault vehicle' it did pretty damn good. I can't remember any fights that I was in it that I actually had to work for except when picking up Liara and fighting the Maws. However, it really sucked when you weren't going on flat ground. It would go over a hill... and suddenly fall to the right and go into a pit. :/ The maps for exploring didn't help much either as they had like 10,000 pits on them, and only sometimes would you find a relatively flat path to drive to where you want to go. But again, this is just my opinion. :D Personally, I can't wait for the hammerhead! YEY TANKS!

[The objective of tanks is not to break the enemy lines, but to instead get surrounded by enemy troops, at which point the infantry that are following the tanks will think "Wow, those tanks are surrounded, we better save them or they'll die! CHARGE!!!".]

For some reason I immediately thought of this add -

"Uh oh, better get Mako... I mean Maaco."

The Mako didn't bother me in ME1. Yeah, it had its faults, but ultimately what hurt sidequests for me is repetition. So many of the buildings looked alike, the enemies in those buildings all used the same tactics over and over... it was mindnumbingly boring. I didn't mind driving around in the Mako because all of the planets themselves were designed differently and were flat out gorgeous. Getting into the buildings, however, was the issue.

Heeeeeey, live the Mako alone. It was a tank! And it jumped! You guys just weren't using it right.

I tell you, there was nothing better than pouncing on a geth armature. I did that. And it was GLORIOUS!!!!!11111oneone!1eleven

And I didn't mind the collecting so much. It was nice if you broke it up into chunks between the plot planets. I just didn't like those planets with all the tall cliffs... um, okay. I mean those with, like, REALLY TALL cliffs. There were a few. Those were a pain.

Oh yeah, and thresher maws were stupid. You couldn't pounce on them. Although... hmmm...

i dont get why any on in there right mind wants this full rpg element if it involes exploreing the same world different textures. The side missions were generic in mass effect so i never did them, the only ones i ever did were to citadel ones cause you didnt have to mindless's wonder over a barren landscape to get attacked by a thresher maw

lol I liked that too. I also liked running straight into normal human-sized geth and then sometimes they'd get stuck on your tires, getting dragged along with you as you drove.

RPG doesn't just mean skills and levels. It's about the choice too, the way you treat people and such...

But seriously, Mass Effects are pretty light RPGs. But then we focus on pre-determined character.
