Hello, please forgive me if this has already been posted, and include a link where I may find the answers. With a group size of 4, we can include a minimum of 1 from each type of class. In order for the player to keep all of their companions, I'm not sure about DA:I, but do they all need to get along to some degree? What are the most compatible companions? Please group them by left, centre and right. (Centre being neutral and getting along with either side) (I guess I could have said who is good, indifferent or evil). Just trying to build balanced 4 person group in my head. After I determine the 3 people I like the most, then that will determine what class I play. (Because we really play all 4 people don't we.) So who is left, who is centre and who is right? If there is a way to better categorize, by all means please fix. Maybe there's 4 types? Thanks in advance for your input.

Well i can't think of a bioware game where you couldn't have companions who didn't get along in the same party so i think even if they hate eachother they will work with each other.

Also dragon age is very opinionated. you're not really going to find it being. this guy is evil, this guy is good, this guy is neutral, they all are kinda grey, and so is their opinion. sorry but i can't think of a way to categorize them?

It depends what conflict you are talking about. Are you talking about the split between mages/Templars, mages/chantry, Templars/chantry, Ferelden/Orlais, rich/poor, elves/humans, city elves/Danish elves, Qunari/Tevinter, Tevinter/everyone, Qunari/everyone or something else? I expect our companions to be all over the map on most of these. For example, neither Cassandra nor Varric seem like they should be fans of mages running free, but Varric will probably favor helping the poor while I don't get that vibe from Cassandra.

Apparently Sera, Iron Bull and Dorian get along well together as the happy-go-lucky rebel type characters.

And Cassandra, Iron Bull and Vivienne get along well too.

According to twitter, Solas is going to get along with Iron Bull and Cole as well.

Depends on what you want to play, really.

Companions that have been said to get along are:

Cassandra and Iron Bull/Vivienne, Iron Bull and Vivienne, Solas and Cole, Sera and almost everyone

Companions that have been said to not get along or at least bicker a lot:

Cassandra and Varric, Varric and Iron Bull, Vivienne and Solas/Dorian, Cole and Vivienne/Sera

That's pretty much what I can come up with off the top of my head. So you can say the most "harmonic" team composition, at least at first glance, seems to be Cassandra, Iron Bull and Vivienne with the Inquisitor preferably being an Archer.

Sera and Cole are not going to get along.  According to her writer, she refers to Cole as "It" and refuses to talk to him directly.   She's understandably very leery of demons and spirits at this point.  There has been some hints that her friends were killed by demons when the Breech opens up, hence why her reaction to Cole is very poor.

Yeah...I remember when that little storm hit her fan thread (I'm the OP of that thread.)  <_<

That's what I just said (?). (;

Y'all forgot the most important trio, here.

Solas, Vivienne, and Iron Bull... the Baldquisition. Party only accessible if the Inquisitor is also bald.

Some of these relations might change during the course of the game though, like Isabela and Aveline.

They will definitely change, I agree. Varric supposedly doesn't get along with anyone at first, since he's very bitter about the whole situation he's been forced into - I very much doubt that it will stay that way, though. That's not saying he will ever warm up to Cassandra lol.

But yeah, most relationships will change and develop, it's only natural.

Gameplay-wise it doesn't matter who gets along and who don't. They don't bonuses or minuses in the battle etc. Only thing where party getting along matters is party banter and tone of it. In the battles only thing that matters is getting balanced party (who you have equiped good stuff) so some dmg, some ranged dmg and some tankiness.

I would assume that it's not that easy to categorize them. I expect them to have opinions and softspots, some match with the views of other companions, some don't. And these aspects should be more than just good/evil/neutral or/and mage/templar/circle.

I d not recall, maybe Baldur's Gate.  I think it's DA:O though.  But I do recall that one or two characters will leave your camp never to return if you pursue particular paths they totally object to.

As I recall, it's been a while.  Pro-circle is against Blood Magic and Tevinter Imperium.  Pro Mage would be for Blood Magic?  Geeze I'm so rusty...

About the list above, we haven't seen any proof that Dorian would be pro circle, so not sure where that came from.  He's just as likely (or more likely) to be pro mage freedom.

Cassandra, Solas, and Cole supposedly all get along. So odds are they'll agree on a lot of things.
