There was a ME novel writer, William Dietz, who is know for that style. But I'm not sure if you're talking about him or a BSNer who likely was sardonically emulating him.

No, I definitely remember there being an actual user who ended all his sentences in ellipses like that. I can't recall his name, but I'm pretty sure he had a Thane avatar.

Well, that's going on my list for the 'Things I hate' thread.

Yeah, I remember he sulked around in the ME3 threads during the shitstorm and the ellipses driving me up the wall.

BSN whippersnappers, get off my lawn!

Anyone else around here remember the glory days of the ME1 SecuROM DRM backlash on the OLD Bioware forums before that upstart (now legacy) BSN arrived and we were forced to move over? Oh yeah. Those were the days.

Who was the guy....
Who always typed like this...
Always like this...

I tend to do that a lot...

Only when I'm being sarcastic...

I also use it to emphasize pauses...

Nope, I had ME1 on console.  B)

On the old BSN, the groups were listed in order of total posts, and one that Crim created less than a year before the site was locked managed to end up having the second-highest total of posts in it.

Spoiler

We were top'd only by a group dedicated to raging about the ending of ME 3 during the height of the debacle. I still think we'd have overtaken them in another year, or so (it had been inactive for most of the previous year) but everything got locked, so no dice.

More moments: Apparently, I caught a screencap of part of this one, where Tickle managed to get one over a spam-troll:

Spoiler

I didn't even notice the "recommended" panel had a coincidental recommendation until just now.

This one makes me look kind of like an obsessive poster:

Spoiler

I'd claim that I was doing it before it was cool, but let's be honest, it was never cool! :P

This is when Souly and DR posted about the old BSN one after the other, unaware of what the other person was posting:

Are we talking about the old Social Bioware forum, as in the one you (for whatever reason) have to link your DA:O and DAII badges from? I lurked there for a bit, I really liked the Dragon Age 2 discussions about Meredith and the crazy murderer guy

Ahh, good times on the old BSN:

- "All were thematically revolting" thread

- The ME2 Motivational thread

- The "[Insert your country] Fleet reporting" signatures

On the very old boards, that preceded BSN:

- The "tell a joke" thread in the off-topic section

- The countless tech-nerd threads in the ME1 forums (I remember one specific one about how ME holograms work)

- the "your perfect ME2 squad" thread, that spawned Blasto

Things I miss:

- Moderators with names (Ninja Stan, Evil Cris, etc.)

- Threads with dev posts, that were not just official business but just recreational nerd talk about the games

Say what you will about the new boards, the nonsense of the spam posters is a thing of non-existence anymore.

Surely they could have figured out a way to do that without removing everything.
