I was around during the dark days of Old BSN.  I think the new Bioware forum is much improved.

The older forum had more features tbh.

I miss blog posting. If I were to post threads these days, the moderators would lock them because they follow the lies of so-called "mainstream science". But with blog posting, I could outline the facts and evidences of the Ancient Astronaut Theory in peace.

II think the new one is more streamlined.  A lot of the old features were redundant with 3rd party websites like Reddit, Imgur, and Tumblr around.

At least now I can ignore people's forum post.  That would've come in handy back when I was getting forum-stalked.

I don't want to go to Reddit or Tumblr.

And only hot girls got forum stalked.

What did you guys do with Allan btw? Does he finally admit that he hates all of you?

I'm not sure how I'd handle being a hot girl.  I mean, I don't even have a standing mirror.

I don't know about Allan. Perhaps he learned from Woo or Priestly that an active forum role is a threat to job security?

You're crazy, so many of the old crew are gone. Think of the great discussions we had in the ME2 threads. ME3 was a war zone, I don't think DA I is as bad but I haven't ventured in in months to find out, but it's nowhere near the comraderie we had years ago.

Yeah this, I don't want to have accounts at other sites, and never will.

The DA:I forums are far too Tumblr-esque in attitude to be enjoyable.

Allan vanished before Inquisition came out. He probably realized there'd be backlash when he saw how sh*t the combat is.

There are still good discussions today.  And frankly, there are a lot of members of the old crew that I'm not sorry are gone.

I figured as much, I was gonna mention Krem threads. Used to be whenever I saw one listed on the right side of the home page I went in just to stir up the circle-jerk, but it's not worth it anymore. Not really sure this whole place is.

It's a half decent time sink. I still meet interesting folk here every now and then.

Some, not many. We're split by how divisive the past few games have been--Bioware creating interesting debates is good, but turning it into a battleground of pro-enders and anti-enders, mage vs Templar, and all that doesn't really build the comraderie like we had back with ME2.

I want to ask who you're glad is gone, but I don't know if that's a good idea.

My problem is the last thing I need is a time sink. I have plenty of stuff to do. Thankfully this place doesn't have the pull it used to have on me, but I don't really want to lose the pals I've made here.

I'd look into alternative ways to speak tbh. Steam or something else.

Nah, I think it's best to keep that buried.

Suffice to say, I sat out most of 2013.  BSN just stopped being fun after 1000th IT thread or whatever.

I have a few connected over there, but not nearly all.

I'm saying that 2010-early 2012 was better than what we've had since. I think it went downhill post-ME3.

I actually left mid 2012 because of it.

This thread's gotten me really nostalgic. I am not that concerned about the loss of features (outside a proper news feed and blogging) because the forum itself is much better. Embedding videos, etc.

What I do miss are some of the people who left. I'm looking through some old threads and it's a little sad that I'll never exchange paragraphs on why DA 2 is crap with the likes of billy the squid, alistairlover94 or Tommy6860 again. Or raid the Miranda megathread with DarkDragon777 and GMag again.

Oh well, they grew up and I didn't. Story of my life lol. Hope life's treating them well, though. They were all good peeps.

It took a small dive with DA2 and then a nosedive with ME3, at least for a while.

I've only been reading it since the announcement that Gaider was switching projects, and for PaxEast info.

I feel like strapping on a hazmat suit just by looking at some of the thread titles though. Especially whenever mages, templars, or Fiona are brought up.
