Oh for God's sake...so what, Bull and Dorian have to remain celibate if you're not romancing either one?

Maybe next time actually read a post for yourself before you put words in my mouth and patronise me. For the record, all I said was I didn't like it. Somebody asked why and I explained why I thought it might be. I acknowledged my POTENTIAL discomfort revolving around a HYPOTHETICAL scenario and I also mentioned that it had nothing to do with them pursuing a relationship. I know you've since read them, but it really bothers me when people go off half-cocked without actually having any idea as to what I was saying. Especially when all they had to do was scroll up. I'm sorry if it seems I'm overreacting, but it really leaves a bad taste in my mouth, especially when it happens all the time. Sometimes I feel that people don't misinterpret things as much on this board as they do interpret what they want to interpret.

I meant if you side with the mages.

Same sequence of events, actually.

Mea culpa. I apologize for being snappy. I don't agree, but you certainly have the right to believe as you do.

Thank you, and I'm sorry for snapping right back at you. Like I said, it's just a niggling concern I had and I tend to overexplain. If they were to actually be a thing in-game I'm sure it would be fine.

Josephine and Cullen? Huh, I thought it'd be Leliana and Cullen since their relationship is said to be akin to that of a married couple. I also think Bull and Dorian is possible given that they're both unorthodox examples of their people and David has previously described their relationship to be 'interesting.' I'm not implying that necessarily means romance, but the potential exists.

Of course, they might not even end up with each other at all. Who knows if there's a templar or another dashingly handsome Tevinter guy in the game who eventually sweeps Dorian off his feet?

Honestly, given the Qun thoughts on mages, Dorian x Iron Bull seems creepy as hell. At least until/if Iron Bull decides to leave the Qun. Otherwise, just awful sounding.

lets see, if my inquisitor doesnt romance anyone....

Solas- doesnt get any action as we have no other female elves that fit his preference (sera is strictly lesbian)

Cole- no action, hes forgotten too much to be in any relationship

Cullen and Josie- Makes sense to me

Cullen and Cass-  I like Cass too much to even think this might happen, hope it doesnt

Cullen and Viviene-  Naughty mage and the big bad templar

Cullen and Leliana-  Might happen, if my warden hadnt scooped her up first

Blackwall and Josie-  Could fit

Blackwall and Cass-  Makes the most sense (though cass is mine!)

Blackwall and Viviene-  I dont see them getting along, but who knows

Blackwall and Leliana-  See cullen and Leliana

Varric-  Blue Balled for life thanks to writing

Bull and Dorian-  Doubt it, but hey things are kind of weird in the world now anyway

Bull and Josie-  Im starting to write Josie into the Zevran/Isabella role at this point arent I?

Bull and Cass-  I really dont think she would got for bull no matter how friendly they get, but who knows, opposites attract sometimes

Bull and Viviene-  *gasps**orlesian accent*  Scandalous

Bull and Leliana-  See everything regarding leliana above

Dorian-  Written into a corner as bull is the only guy who can meet preferences

Sera and Josie-  Please

Sera and Leliana-  Also please (just "fun" friends though, my warden will take the relationship)

Thats all companions and advisers, now if we add in the unknowns to the mix (Harding, Thammond, Rosslin, and possibly Dagna)

I wonder if there is a history between Josephine and Leliana.  Although I suspect not.  I'm just surprised to see that not many people have brought that one up as an option.

Leliana was an option in DA:O, so I'm not surprised. Though, that didn't stop Garrus and Tali. And...wasn't there James and Ashley too?

This is why I won't romance Iron Bul with mage either.. and have hard time with another qunari since I'm doing Tal-Vashoths who are anti-Qun ^^;

But I guess it depends how much IB is into Qun and it's part of fearing and abusing mages. Personally I hope he leaves the Qun.

I hope it's platonic. I don't like the implication that the only two bi women just happen to have had a past together.

Doesn't stop the amount of mage Hawke's romancing Fenris, or pro-templar Hawke's romancing Anders/Merrill (rivalry). In fact none of the rivalry romances were healthy to be honest. And I've got a bit of an issue with Mage Inquisitor/Cullen (maybe even Mage Inquisitor/Cass as well) considering the fact that he is still fairly pro-templar in this game by the looks of things. I think Dorian/Iron Bull could be fine considering he doesn't agree with every part of the Qun (he seems pretty dis-attached from it anyway, but probably upholding the basic beliefs), and also he seems friendly towards everyone on his side/who is with him. I'm sure he doesn't advocate enslaving and imprisoning mages who have done nothing wrong, maybe he did before he went out into the real world, outside Par Vollen or wherever he came from.

I just love the idea of Dorian/Iron Bull because they are pretty atypical to their origin/place so I think it could be fun. Also they seem to have compatible personalities, and I would love to see them talk about the Qunari/Tevinter war and decide early on that their isn't gonna be any hard feelings towards them. I would like the idea of their relationship starting fairly casual but getting deeper as the game goes on (which maybe you can tell from party banter as well), I kind of feel like the Iron Bull/Inquisitor romance might go like this as well. It's not exactly original but sweet  :) Too bad, if it happens, I won't get to experience it till my third playthrough.

That was Cassandra and Leliana, not Cullen and Leliana.

The sneer Cassandra directed at him was gold! With Josephine being the cool aunt stopping the argument right there.

Leliana: We should take option A.

Cullen: I say we take option B.

Cassandra: Option A is the logical course.

Cullen: Is not! Option B can work too!

Leliana: You don't know that.

Cullen: Do too!

Josephine: We can't use either option right now, so let's drop this.

Everyone else: Right.

(no offense to Cullen. I like all the characters but this particular group has such an awesome family dynamic. :D)

Nothing unhealthy about respectfully disagreeing with someone. Now, if Hawke was a total dick about it...

I'd say They didn't. Josie cut off the discussion before anyone wins the convo.

No, they were all pretty terrible except maybe Isabela's. Merrill and Anders both have utter horror for rivalmances, and Fenris' seems pretty bad for him too.

Personal opinion.

I vastly preferred Fenris's rivalmance to his friendmance.

The issue is that Iron Bull supports and is an employed by an institution that advocates and performs slavery, torture and executions of mages. The Qunari also want to conquer Thedas - probably Tevinter most especially.

He may not personally believe in that, but he is still helping those that do.

I have to say, when I rivalmanced Merrill it did seem like Hawke was crushing her personality and decisions into the mud beneath his feet.

With Anders, I think the rivalmance works much better, because it's effectively Vengeance you're rivalling, not Anders. You're helping Anders see that his own wishes don't necessarily mesh exactly with Vengeance.

Fenris' rivalmance isn't THAT different from his friendship romance, to be honest. He's only a little angrier in the former.
