My concern is the crafting system possibly overriding loot.  If this has already been succinctly addressed by BioWare, I apologize.  Feel free to flame the hell out of me and call me uninformed.   But after watching some of the videos it seems the crafting system is REALLY important.  Like, more important than I originally conceptualized in my mind.  Why am I getting distinct Fable 3 vibe here?  For the record....

I hated the Fable 3 weapon system.

Is there going to be unique loot that I can FIND in this game?  Or am I just going to have to craft that really badass greatsword named Thou Just Got Wrekt! Speaking of which, I hope the crafting system itself is robust aesthetically or else it could REALLY end up like Fable 3.  With you having 6 ultimate weapons that all inexplicably look alike thanks to Peter Molyneux half-assing the meshes.

The crafting system is just being able to make every item in the game yourself.  if you find the recipe for it you can make it.  So maybe you can find like Templar armor around the world.  But it will be iron.  If you have the recipe you can make it out of dragon scale and so on.  I don't know if there will be any exclusively crafted items.  But that is the crux of how it will work.

Ah, then my concerns are unfounded.  I feel silly now.

i know this is off topic but i liked the fable 3 weapon system (i know we can have separate options i'm just voicing my own), anyways back to the original topic, i am pretty sure that the crafting system in inquisition will not be like fable 3 at all. from what i have seen, it will perform somewhat similarly to the last dragonage games with a few changes and additions, you can put crafting items and/or runes in your weapons slots, if they have them. you can also make things from scratch. there will also be schematics for weapons, so say you want a weapon to look a certain way or have certain runes/crafting materials you couldn't put on the first one, or if you want to make a fresh weapon with different materials without having the materials you put in the first weapon being a waste. (because you can't remove them once they are put in the weapon.) [this info was from the last twitch video on either bioware or inquisitions channel on twitch])

They said in one of the videos where they introduce the crafting system, that the crafting system is optional and that you can go through a game pretty much entirely without using it, if you want to.

Personally... I think I know what one of the things I'm going to sink in many, many, many hours into will be.

I was always a sucker for things like these and the crafting system is part of what I love the Atelier series so much for *0*
