If you look at a qunari with horns, how would that be possible?

They could do it in DA2, oddly enough. Go take a look.

Qunari is not my cup of tea.

Looking forward to it, but probably won't get to my planned qunari rogue until my third or fourth replay. Doing my dwarf and Dalish first, though I intend to create all my Inquisitors at once before playing anything past the creator/opening.

I didn't think I'd be interested in playing a Qunari at first, then I saw that hunk of a guy:

So yeah, I might give them a chance after all :P

Regardless of my feelings about the Qun...that guy is pretty hot. :P

Not really, I've always found the Qunari pretty boring, at best, and eye roll worthy at worst. Their attitudes, culture and such, not their looks as of DA2, as of DA2 they've had impressive concept and in game visuals. I don't know, I can't put my finder why, but whenever I talk to a Qunari they either near put me to sleep or leave me rolling my eyes at something or another that they said. I've never been able to get into them.

My only reaction to the DA2 Qunari Elf girl was that I needed to kill her before she got the information back to the Qun, but the game wouldn't let me for some reason. I don't know. It had this air of, "Hey this person is delivering sensitive information to your enemy, be sure to do absolutely nothing about it! Oh what's that? You want to? Too bad, because. Because."

Sten never even hooked me, I tended to wish he'd just stop talking when he started. The people that gushed about him in DA:O, I'm glad they liked him, but I just can't see it when held up against a character like Shale.

Well having played dragon age 2 again most recently, and fighting against the qunari mages with their awesome lightning spells, i so totally plan to recreate my own Qunari mage inquisitor.

Storm magic FTW.

I also will be using Combustion man from the last airbender series as some inspiration for appearance.

Im thinking either knight enchanter or rift mage spec wise.

I was, untill I saw their character creation options. Or lack there off if you will.

As of right now they look like humans with horns sticked to their heads. There's not much to distinguish them, visually speaking.

They seem to have gone with a more ''humanized'' look for DAI. Which is unfortunate because BW did such an amazing job designing them in DA2 and then bringing them through the game.

QrwRC.jpg

(take out the horns and pointy ears, what exactly is different than humans or dwarves?)

At the same time I can somewhat understand this direction since they're now playable, devs probably wanted them to look the part of a hero or good guy. More relatable. I get that.

But they had a chance to do something a little different than the rest of the races. Add a little variety. So why not also give us the option for the more ''out there'' features of the qunari?

Despite my hesitation to buy Inquisition at release (I know I will own it at some point), I am definitely looking forward to playing as a Qunari mage and making him look as snazzy & cute as possible.

Eh, the thing that makes the Qunari interesting to me is their belief system, so no I'm not interested in playing a Qunari. But more power to those that want to do so.

First, the male elf who wants everyone to get along, then the qunari female mage who roots for the underdog and then the imperialistic, slightly racist human male/female warrior. Dwarf will come forth if I still like the game at that point =p

I think that is why many wants to play qunari mages, not for the character to have that belief but for them to clash with it. All characters except maybe human warriors and rouges have sort of outcast starts, elf, criminal dwarf, mages out of the tower but qunari mages sort of take the cake on the looked down upon by society party. People who wants to have a "Woe is me" sad inquisitor or a "Want to make something of it?" angry inquisitor playthrough can both have fun with it.

-shrug- I'm sure I'll play one eventually, but I'm not excited about it.  After seeing those horrible hair options, I have to again think there just wasn't time to do them justice and the limited resources would have been better spent elsewhere.  I'm sure many people will love them, but I'll always wonder how much more content could have been in game without them.

I really like the Qunari as a race and a faction, but I'm oddly uninterested in actually playing one. I'm sure I will at some point, but I suspect it will be the last of the four races that I get to.

The qunari are a race completely unique to the Dragon Age setting.  I plan to play a qunari knight enchanter first purely for the novelty of it all.  I want to see how Thedas will view an outsider trying to fix their problem.  It will certainly be interesting.

I was super excited about playing a female qunari, but the bad hair has completely killed my enjoyment of that character concept. She's relegated to my second playthrough, which will wait until Bioware (or, somehow, modders) manage to add in some better options.

Honestly, in my case, I don't see myself playing as any other race besides a qunari.

That wasn't a problem with the Qunari or the Qun as such, though. It was a problem with Hawke pretty much being an extra in MotA. (I wanted to strangle Tallis in prison and side with Duke Prosper.)

I am THRILLED to be able to play as a qunari.  I'm not at all deterred by the art style or the customization options.

For the former, I feel like they backed themselves into a corner the moment they decided to make the DA: O qunari just tall humans with pointed ears.  They originally wanted them to look like DA 2.  I would rather have had them not include any qunari in person in DA: O if they couldn't do it justice than compromise what they were intended to look like.  However, they decided to make them look like Sten.  Then, when they could actually make them look  like they wanted to, they introduced this idea that they could look like Sten (who is basically human  looking) or the Arishok (who is decidedly not human looking) and anything in between.  It's not ideal, but that's the world they set up.  So, with that being said, I'm definitely going to try to make my first qunari guy look like an "in-between" (kind of similar to the ones posted above):  mostly human looking (so he can be attractive to me), but with horns, so that he still feels like a different race.

For the latter, I'm fine with the customization options.  Would I like the horns and hair to be separate?  Yes, but I know that the programmers know much more about the limitations than I do and I trust them.  Would I like to see more options for their hair?  Definitely, but I've felt that about almost all modern Bioware games (only the male Hawke options were really sufficient for me), so it's not anything new.

I am thrilled that they are finally an option and I can definitely see the majority of my Inquisitors being qunari, including my personal cannon Inquisitor.  Now I just can't wait to get my hands on the CC and make some awesome looking qunari!

It may not be anything new to want more hair options in Bioware games, but I think having only three made available, all very short and with bad textures, kind of takes the cake.

Yes! Though not on my first play through. I'll be a Dalish Rogue Assassin my first time through. But then I'm definitely rolling a female Qunari Reaver for my next game.
