Just to clarify this how i view BM just so we dont have a misunderstanding lol

http://starwars.wiki.../wiki/Potentium

And if you look at the bottom of the page Potentium is outright said be to a wrong and misguided philosophy that typical leads to the dark side. Yeah, Star Wars lore really shouldn't be used to defend your argument. That universe is pretty firm on the idea that the Force is literally black and white.

But hey, if ignore that bottom part then the philosophy ain't that bad.  :D

Monkey was just saying that the view of the followers of Potentium was similar to his view on magic and its various forms... or at least blood magic.

Off topic: Star Wars went down hill fast for me after they introduced the Mother and those immortal people... making it so that the light and dark has to be balanced. Just didn't make sense to me, it was like saying that the Jedi and Sith are wrong and should just be "grey" to keep balance or that the galaxy needs sith and jedi. What is the truth in Star Wars? Who knows?! It's all about balance it seems, and it just makes it sound like the Jedi beliefs are wrong... which kind of kills the whole mythos for me as it is just difficult to play as a jedi or cheer on jedis when I'm just thinking "You're wrong."

Anyway, back on topic: Ya, blood magic, it is crazy stuff, really dangerous. Gotta do a risk/reward kind of thinking... right...

off-topic: they lost me when they said the expanded universe was gone what about kotor, the force unleashed. But im loving rebels atm its funny a cute lol

On-topic: that exactly what i was trying to convey its how i view magic in general(abominations though... if they are like wynn its cool if not... firball). There are no evil magics... just evil users

Blood magic is power and any dutiful magister would be wise to partake. Demons are useful tools as well. Only a fool fears what he cannot comprehend.

In DA2 my rogue always considered she was doing her bit to help Blood Mages, They needed their blood for magic and she usually left them covered in the stuff!  :D

What can I say she was a helper!

I started thinking about DAO and Blood Mages as I was reading through this thread and realised how awash with Blood Mages, DA2 is in comparison. I mean Uldred and Jowan cause a couple of huge problems but it's under every rock in Kirkwall!

It should be forbidden for everybody except me.  I'm the only one who can use it responsibly.

I wouldnt want it myself, but not wanting to hold anyone else back to using it.

It needs to be as it should be, corrupting, evil and hated by others within Thedas. :)

Against.

Even with the greatest intentions, Blood magic can only cause ruin.

This is coming from a heavy mage lover.

The system is great.  I played a Blood mage although not big on having spam so many skills to get full benefit, however it was tremendously fun.  I played pure Templars and such that slayed all heathens that practiced it and this including killing potential companions along with played those that would neutral about it.   I put a lot of hours into the first 2 games so I love its aspect and hope they bring a stronger presence back in DA:I.

I look forward to multiplayer blood magic to see how people react when you slit your hand and start slinging giant bloody fireballs of death or face tank a mob with blood shield up while you sap away its  health with vampire like capabilities.

Only for now..... they released a lot of very powerful kits for ME 3 and I can not see why they would not place something back into the multiplayer for this like that.  It makes sense storyline wise why you would not recruit or even become a blood magic using Inquisitor however the doors are open in the multiplayer thing.

I forsee a blood mage kit eventually.. you watch and if enough ask it will come :).   I mean in ME 3 they let you play what was consider evil kits such as N7 Dragoon which is basically a cerberus soldier but they put N7 in front to make it like he was reformed.  You also got to play kits that used collector powers and dark energy which lore wise only Reapers could give that kind of power to mortal beings.   Talk about broken kits... they let you play a Geth Prime( i forget kits name... juggernaut or something) but essentially the thing was nigh immortal from level 1 and you didnt even need any good gear to support it.
