I doubt fox news will go down that route again with their idiocy. I haven't seen GTAV given any flack over Trevor's parts swinging in the wind, so I doubt the media will jump on BW as they did before.

Never underestimate the power of stoopid.

So if I force Dorian to romance my character even though he doesn't want to because she's a girl then I'll get to see his rear?

I'd suppose so. You'd still be a "guy" as far as the game would consider you, since you would have to force it with a mod or something.

A "source", heh?

I'm fine with Dorian butt.

Indeed, a source. They had no reason to lie to me and said that they were given some small descriptions of three of the scenes from the game from a friend of theirs who works in the industry and looked at games prior to release. If nothing else what's wrong with a little speculation? We've got nothing else until the game is released.

If DAO is anything to go by, no, actually. The Broodmother only warranted DAO with a "Partial Nudity." DAI's "Nudity" would imply actual human(oid) nudity.

OK as the Game has a M rating will we see actual  Nudity  Durning Sex  sex scenes no more awkward granny panties and  strapless bars that made no sense

lets hope so, but no big deal if we don't get it. sex scenes are nice but i'm really into the game for the story. and clothing can be sexy, so for me the characters wouldn't have to be naked.

As long as it fits with the game, I say bring it on.  And yes, nude/sex scenes do fit in a game where a large chunk of the content surrounds romancing someone!  I can never understand why so many people (adults!) get offended when the game has skippable content they don't approve of....  Bioware has a large, diverse fanbase.  I'm an adult and I want mature subject matter.  That includes realistic levels of violence, dark themes, and yes, sex!  I think Bioware does a decent job of bringing that subject matter to life.  They could do better, but I imagine they feel like they're being pulled in two different directions.

On one side, you have the people who think they're mature saying do away with it all together, that sex/nudity has no place in our games..  On the other hand you have people who say bring it on, that it's not the existence of sex/nudity that's a problem, it's how it's potentially implemented.  I side with the latter.

I agree boy meets girl  girl like boy boy and girl  have Nakie time  or just putting this out there for those that like that boy meets boy or girl meets girl   you know it all  leads to Nakie time

I don't care if there's nudity in the game or not, but please, not shower or bathing scenes with clothes on as in ME3, that's just depressing. If there's no nudity, just avoid scenes where the characters should be naked, it shouldn't be too hard.

Not to start a flame war. But the Witcher didn't get it right... they nearly got it. Geralt just needed to lose his pants. It comes off as sexist for both genders, for women it can come off as objectifying and for men it can come off as shaming since male genitalia needs to be hidden.

I'm sorry, but what are you talking about?

In any case, if there is going to be frontal nudity, I'd like it if it were equal between men and women.  I know it'd cause MASS HYSTERIA, but if a women is showing boobs, why not have a dude show a penis?

Basically he's saying enjoy your games. Don't let anyone else make you feel bad for playing it and that devs should do what they want to do without the fear of others condemning them.

That's what i take away from it.

Oh, no declaration of war perceived. That is, in fact, and excellent addendum to the relevance of the thread. However it was not CDProjektRed that made the call for that, it was the American distribution that insisted.. Yet that whole pesky double standard we have here in the great ol' U. S. of A. There is no question it should be equal across the board for any gender, period.

But as far as sexist, well its time to stop being so politically correct while taking positions on a soapbox that can be equated to the same level of rational debate as two 4 yr. olds in a sandbox arguing over who gets the shovel and who gets the pail.

1 - the ones who cry "sexist.. its so sexist.. I know whats best for everyone because I'm offended and I want you all to agree with me or you're picking on me and I'm a victim"... yeah. .Those people.. you wouldn't want to be laying next to them naked anyway.. even drunk.. with stolen toys!

2- funny thing about objectification: when a man worships a woman.. its empowering.. when a woman worships a man - its deplorable and degrading.  When a woman shows sexual independence - its slutty but desired, when a man shows it - well, its all we want (supposedly) so its manly, but despised... Fact is, no one FORCES anyone to look.. anymore than one FORCES one to be looked at.

Though a mere message lost in a thread will make no grand changes of any kind, nor will a singular thought (whether validated, liked or rejected and found appalling) merely make ignorance or tolerance suddenly catch up to reason and rationale. But I will say this, perhaps if some of these fools actually sat down and played a game or two, they might just do the unthinkable and enjoy themselves! B) :bandit:

(additionally:  AshesElven. No worries, no need to apologize. I am merely talking about the very point you made yourself. But it is pretty clear, so feel free to interpret as you wish.  Despair Demon summed it up nicely anyway!)

You....I think I'm going to like you.  A lot. I haven't seen you around but you are already a breath of fresh air.

The Witcher games weren't afraid of showing full blown sex.  And not sex with granny panties still on.  Or shower scenes with underwear still being worn.  How are video games TRULY going to evolve as a medium if we're afraid to take it to the next level?  Either from fear of offending someone or by half-assing it.

Okay I think I'm just misreading you.  You have a funny way of making a point, where I completely disagree and then completely agree with what you're saying.

But what I THINK you're saying is that there should be gender equality.  Which I can agree with.  I don't know what the "we should enjoy games" bit is, maybe you could help me with that?

Having romance scenes should just look "natural," making them obvious pg-13 makes it seem less mature.

Look at The Witcher 2, it had nudity in it, but it was used where it made sense and fit the story/characters, it didn't come off as juvenile (unlike the "cards" from the first Witcher).

To me when it comes to "sex" scenes in video games there's usually three ways it's done.

1. Over-use to "shock" or grab attention without any merit then to simply show it, this makes it seem amateurish.

2. Obvious cover-ups to avoid any nudity (IE objects carefully in the "way" or character that have clothing on. This leads to it feeling very "held back" and self-censored to appease for a lower rating (but makes little sense in a game already rated M).

3. Mature nudity when the story and characters call for it, where it makes sense, not used for "Shock" value but to simply show a part of the story or relationship between the characters. This to me is the best way to portray it, it can be tasteful and mature.

The Bioware games (ME/DA) both felt like they really really wanted to hold back, the scenes didn't usually come off as "natural" and it seemed like it was afraid to show anything.

Hopefully DA:I can provide tasteful mature nudity that enhances the story/characters without shying away from it.

I've heard it from a source that the Sera romance features topless nudity(for both Sera and the Inquisitor) and that you can see Dorian's rear in his romance scene. For the other scenes, I don't know.

I sincerely hope that you are lying.

Because if Dorian shows his rear, how am I ever going to be able to try out one of the other romances?

I think to a lot of Americans(and maybe some Europeans) breasts are on a different "level" than penis. That is to say, boobs =/= penis. Boobs are generally seen as being less obscene than a penis and are not the primary sex organ. Now if they showed a vagina, then yeah why not show a penis.

Both genders are not the same.  There are differences between the two.

Both genders are equal, and should be treated with respect and neither gender should have a privilege over the other unless limited by biology or something (for instance, men and women should not be competing in the same sports events.)

Do you disagree?  (if you wish to continue this discussion, best take it to PMs)
