eh, I actually preferred the energetic wrestling and then "Fade to Black" in DA2 to 'awkward sex scenes played to the tune of bad Enya music' in Origins.

I think to a lot of Americans(and maybe some Europeans) breasts are on a different "level" than penis. That is to say, boobs =/= penis. Boobs are generally seen as being less obscene than a penis and are not the primary sex organ. Now if they showed a vagina, then yeah why not show a penis.

I can agree with this, but where the Witcher falls short for me is the fact that they showed full nudity for female characters (breasts, rear, and pubic region) and no nudity for Geralt.  If they were squeamish about showing frontal nudity for him, then why show Triss fully nude from the front in that first sex scene?  Or, even better, why not show him from the rear?  The fact that she was fully nude and exposed and he wasn't nude at all actually made it seem more juvenile to me.

If I have to see practically every female character get fully naked, the very least they could do is give me a fully naked Geralt.

Amigo, I can only offer a humble and welcome thanks for that! With regards to nothing more than simply being a Wise Guy (as implied!) I find that there is a time and place everything. Nothing is more valuable than the exchange of ideas and understanding; but for far too long it seems ideas and understanding have been replaced with exchanges of insults and misinformation... and I would be remiss in omitting the simple fact that, yeah.. I simply have no filter for ass-kissing and sugar coating, nor an overwhelming need to make sure everyone understands, agrees, or even likes what I have to say.. But If I say anything, it will at least be sincere... or sarcastically sincere.

Oh amigo! :bandit: I freely admit my sense of humor crosses too many lines of decency in some cases and while I am never out to offend anyone, I am also not one of these new, metrotestical social fairy fart-powered whiners looking to "make sure everyone is just feeling hunky dory!"... Some people are always gonna be offended, and worse some always WANT to be offended because its the only way they can justify their victim / outrage complex. But since I have a real nasty habit in believing in this radical idea that I pick up sometime in the 1980's called self-accountability!

I simply have little tolerance for those who look to but blame literally everywhere.. and yet never once accept personal responsibility (akin to.. removing oneself from the equation if the end result doesn't agree with you kinda mentality!) In the end, "we should enjoy games" does mean, well, pretty much what it means but in this context if it helps: If all these stupid groups and whiners and idiots had their way, the only games we would see are Solitare.. and Solitare EX edition.. which would only lead to the modding, underground criminial cartel creating.. Nude Solitare Celebrity edition!

and to my new friend @ Shadow Fox or at least acquaintance (if your comment was backhanded! well played if it was!)... You damn right I am THAT guy!  :bandit: We need more of THAT kind of guy and girl. we need more of all kinds! ... Life is nothing if not chaotic and beautiful in its diversity!

Now if I could just get The Keep to save all my choices...WTF!

In terms of whether or not there "should" be nudity in Dragon Age, I don't think so. DA2 was fine by my standards if I recall, as was ME3 with MShep and Kaidan at least. As long as they don't go too far down the opposite route, ala Origins or this supposed Traynor shower scene where it looks absolutely ridiculous. And if there is nudity, it shouldn't be one sided in terms of gender (Like in the original Mass Effect: Shepard + Ashley = Ashbutt. Shepard + Kaidan = Shepbutt. Boobs and butts are fine when tasteful, but the moment Iron Bull starts turkey slapping my Inquisitor with his giant dong I'm wondering why exactly it is we play video games. Romance arcs and sex scenes are portrayed all the time in TV and cinema without showing nudity and I don't think Dragon Age needs to do any different for it to be "mature".

Like I said, it doesn't bother me either way as long as it's not over the top in either case.

CDProjektRed: The Witcher and The Witcher II: Assassins of Kings.

They got it right not once, but twice.

Twice? You're including the game with those silly sex cards as getting it right?

Well in dragon age 2 the rating was : Partial Nudity
And in inquisition it's just : Nudity
So make of that what you will...
...could we perhaps see tatas & peepees? Who knows. My Inquisitor will be too busy murdering magi, he won't have any time for shenanigans.

I cannot imagine that they will show full frontal nudity for either males or females.  Just doesn't seem like Bioware's style.

I've heard it from a source that the Sera romance features topless nudity(for both Sera and the Inquisitor) and that you can see Dorian's rear in his romance scene. For the other scenes, I don't know.

I'd prefer something like Liara's scene in ME3 where--WAIT! Topless Sera!? HELL YEAH!

So let me get this  straight bioware can show  implements  decaoitations  dark magic that  rips  people apart but bioware won't show full frontal nudity?

Broodmother.

That's your naked time right there.

Yes, that was the example I used the other day when a fan brought this subject up to Patrick Weekes.

Just because there's nudity in the game doesn't mean it's nudity you want to see. All the walking corpses are now naked, right? And if there are other equally disgusting demons that happen to have withered breasts or flaccid, rotting genitals or giant fanged vaginas ...

Didn't say I agree with them.  A little (or a lot) of nudity never hurt anyone.  But, given that they've never chosen to show full frontal nudity in any of their games, it just doesn't seem like their thing.  Maybe I'm wrong, though.  Guess we'll just have to wait to see.

That's the world we live in friend. One where a man murdering his wife is more acceptable for the screen than a man having naked smex with his wife.

I don't get it either.

Not to start a flame war. But the Witcher didn't get it right... they nearly got it. Geralt just needed to lose his pants. It comes off as sexist for both genders, for women it can come off as objectifying and for men it can come off as shaming since male genitalia needs to be hidden.

No one gets to see the third sword but Triss.

Aren't there about twenty other gals in the series who might refute this statement?
