The game is rated for Adults and declares it has nudity, same as any other media. So, you have the same decision to make, watch it or don't. If you believe sex shouldn't be in games, fine, play ones that don't have the content, the same as you can choose what videos to buy. Or you can play the game and don't develop a relationship or is the temptation to much?

 

Bioware, I just have one request, stop imposing American Bible Belt morality on the rest of the world. I bet they don't bathe with their underwear on, though I could be wrong.

I could see it...but I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "proper".

 

I wouldn't be shocked to see brief flashes of nudity during romance scenes...or perhaps in the way that The Witcher does it...where at times its almost casual and isn't the focus of the scene...but merely a piece (although this....I don't see happening...). To garner a nudity warning in the rating...means that its more than brief and its likely more than what we saw with the broodmothers.

 

But who knows...honestly....its such a small part of the game as a whole. I would like to see it happen though...I would like to see devs. using nudity rather than fearing it. I mean you see it in movies all of the time...and in television, and while at points its done for shock value (and that is a shame) at other times it can be used to portray so much more....

It's more that nudity in video games tends to only be female nudity.

Nah, some of the political 'advancement of art' and people's perceptions of different genitalia as being more or less obscene can be legitimate sociological and psychological discussions (or even purely artistic although I personally prefer social sciences to art).

 

But yes the thread started somewhere near there and quickly devolved. As was no doubt expected.

The only developer, as far as I'm aware, to show the male genitalia was Rockstar North in GTA IV. Based on historical trends and given precedent of previous games, it's more or less a 99% chance that nudity correlates to seeing female breasts and/or butts.

 

That being said, BioWare isn't CD Projekt Red and certainly DAI is not The Witcher 3. If we were to see nudity in a romance capacity, BioWare has already stated in previous interviews that it would be more like how the first Mass Effect handled nudity (likely a side boob and rapid cuts). I would not expect full-frontal nudity, unless we are dealing with a desire demon or broodmother, of which have been shown in previous Dragon Age games.

 Outlast comes to mind as well, and I can't help but feel there have been a few other games over the years that I'm just blanking on at the moment. Regardless, what I said earlier still frames my thoughts perfectly, a black screen or ME1 style are my preference.
