I think I saw my male Shepard's naked butt in his scene with Ashley in ME1. Very briefly, but I'm sure it was there.
Hmmm... the eyes seeing what the heart wills them to?
I've had that happen a time or two.

I thought that for the Triss scenes Geralt got completely naked as well, but maybe I'm mistaken. Funnily enough CDPR did create a naked model for Geralt. There's a mod that swaps pants Geralt for naked Geralt in the sex scenes. I don't know why they didn't use naked Geralt themselves. Maybe they were pressured into it, like with one version they had to conceal Yenn's nipples?
Nope. I just went back and rewatched it to be sure. Ashley shows butt and side-boob. Shepard shows knee and shoulder. They pan up before he rolls on top of her, so you only see his shoulder and face. Then, Ashley wakes up naked (implied) and Shep's already dressed.
In TW2, Geralt was never shown naked. Tiss? Fully nude (breasts, rear, and pubic region). Geralt? Shirtless at most. If they did create the nude Geralt model, they subbed it out.
To your point about "genitalia and our views on nudity": Yes, female genitalia is internal and male is external. However, societal views on lower frontal nudity is similar for both males and females. So I see a fully nude woman (pubic hair visible) and a fully nude man (penis visible) to be comparable. Not the same, but comparable.
Ahhh, okay. I don't find them comparable.
....they could go the same way they took to hide female genitalia, which is pubic hair. Also as the poster above me mentioned, breasts are also external female body parts, so it's the same.
They can't hide a penis with pubic hair. :S
They might be able to conceal it using creative camera shots, but still it's much harder to do that with a man than with a woman.
Breasts are also external male body parts. And they're on display quite often in games.
Tasteful nudity, in my opinion, is completely accepted. We are adults; we understand the concepts of sex.
I'm not asking for complete scenes or anything, but the underwear wasn't cute and the blackouts made the romance feel less. . . well, romantic.
I'm going to venture into all romances of Inquisition. I'm merely hoping that they don't let me down in the "emotion" department.
And here I thought the rumors about it having teeth were just to promote abstinence.
They might be able to conceal it using creative camera shots, but still it's much harder to do that with a man than with a woman.
They have actually successfully done that, however, they cut it out from the game for unknown reason and replaced it with...pants.
Because unequal treatment can carry a message.
I am so sick of this pseudo-logic infecting video games.

It's not that difficult to do, though. Just top the camera at the point where his pubic hair is visible but not his penis. And, again, if they just didn't want to show genitals, why wasn't Geralt naked at all. Why was he wearing pants?
If this game has full frontal male nudity, I will stand and applaud. Particularly if that's the only full frontal nudity it has.
Because unequal treatment can carry a message. And this would be a good one.
That message means absolutely nothing unless you are also fully nude as you stand and applaud.
I am so sick of this pseudo-logic infecting video games.
You are not the only one who is sick of opposing viewpoints "pseudo-logic infecting video games", but I guess we all have to deal with other viewpoints, huh?

No I am sick because if there is an element missing in a video game, some people think it's sending a message or w/e.
Like the whole lack of a female assassin in Unity, some people think Ubisoft is being sexist with that.

Right, and I am sick of people criticizing people who criticize gaming and call those people SJWs in a derogatory way because they don't agree with those people's opinions. That was my point. I have to deal with the people who I am sick of and so do you.

Good for you.
Good for you.
Right back at ya.
BioWare has done nudity before. Be careful what you wish for.

Disturbing speech bubble is disturbing. o.O

Indeed.
But the Banshee sure was disgusting and not in the way BioWare intended.
Nor should they try. They can't hide a penis with pubic hair.
I'm not going to read a single post in this thread, but I did get a chuckle out of "nakie time". So strangely innocent that it loops right back around to absolutely filthy.
Is it Sunday? That message means absolutely nothing unless you are also fully nude as you stand and applaud.
Parts are parts. If the only difference arises from a social construct, then there is no difference.I don't care what gets shown because I'm not offended by any human body but these are hardly equivalent.
Were probably gonna see one pair of jugs in a brothel then continue video game tradition of having sex with your clothes on.
Sex=/=nudity.
It's more that nudity in video games tends to only be female nudity.
1.) Aren't you arbitrarily deciding what exactly these views are? Or have you personally interviewed the devs?
2.) Respecting another's opinion, whether we agree with it or not, is sort of common courtesy in our society, and increases the chance of your position being taken seriously.
1) No, I'm not. The evidence is incontrovertible and unequivocal. They showed nudity. They only showed female nudity. They had the opportunity to show male nudity. It would have fit with the scene. They chose not to show it. It's a deliberate choice.
2) Opinions aren't entitled to respect just because they're opinions. I think we would all agree, for example, that no one should respect the views of a racist or their racist opinion. This obviously isn't as clear cut as racism. The same general principle applies, however: people should only give as much respect to an opinion as they think it deserves. If others - e.g. you - disagree with that level of respect then you can say so and react accordingly. I'm not entitled to your respect any more than you are to mine or CDPR is to either of ours.
1.) And you're still putting the "why" for their choices in their heads without actually knowing why they made a choice. You're guessing.
2.) Well this is the Internet. I shouldn't be surprised.
You're guessing.
Ultimately what it comes down to, guesses and speculation.
