That's just lazy. They want to make another shooter game, but has no inspiration for storyline, so make it like that. (at least that's how I see it)

You can accomplish the same thing in GTA and Postal. I see no issue other than it's retreading old ground.

Also remember when we talked about Video games, not politics?

My first instinct is that I have no interest in either the game or the trailer.

In GTA Mass Murdering is something secondary and optional. In Hatred it is essential and the prime reason of the game. The sh*tstorm it will cause is 10x stronger.

Well, it looks like this game is taking aim at Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing to claim the title of "Worst game ever made." It just look awful on every level, like someone decided to make a whole game out of the "No Russian" level from Modern Warfare 2. And in the wake of Gamergate, it could not have come at a worse time.

The developers' statements on this subject have been of the most stereotypical breed of doublethink nonsense. They claim that the game is 'challenging political correctness' and raising serious questions about the pyschology of mass murder, but if you try to look too deeply into what the game is actually doing, they'll tell you, "Hey man, it's just a game! Don't take it so seriously, alright?"

On the other hand, some of the lines from that opening monologue do seem sophomoric enough to have been written by one of those real-life wackos: "My whole life has been bitter, cold hatred." Just embarrassing.

Postal is literally about Mass Murder.

I'd argue it's worse because you use live cats as silencers.

Well that changes everything. There is absolutely no reason to support the game, or the filth that are developing it now.

to much, to far, to everything, game shouldn't be allowed to be released

In my book there is lines you dont cross, that game crosses them

Those words are heresy.Freedom of speech. expression and all that jazz.

Besides, most games have you murdering people or animals....or having sex with people.

Now I have zero interest in that game, but I don't care if someone is making it.

I don't really see the correlation between this and gamer gate. If people are already prejudiced towards gamers all this is going to do is reaffirm what they already believe, which is stupid regardless. There are some pretty fucked up movies out there but that doesn't make me think less of the film industry or movie patrons.

Pity this is 3rd person, it would be better with Oculus IMO. Seriously, I always wanted to play a game where Nathan Explosion from Metalocalypse goes crazy and kills a whole ton of people. But I'm also disappointed by the lack of energy weapons.

The relation I make is only that a minority of gamers out there right now are acting like asshats and embarrassing the rest of us.

In any case, it was actually better when I was a kid, 20 years ago.. and nobody gave a crap about either defending games or criticizing them. This drama never used to happen for some reason.

I'm usually all for freedom of speech and expression, but I hope this game gets universally banned.

This game is just making a big joke out of mass murders. I bet the devs wouldn't be giddy about making it if some psychopath came into their office and started viciously murdering them.

Is it pointlessly cruel? Yeah, for sure.

Should it not be allowed to be released because of that? I don't think so.

This is actually an offensive assumption.

What's so offensive? People generally don't like being gunned down.

I thought that was a given.

Dee mass murders every Sunday with his DnD campaigns.

It's nothing new to me.

Couldn't help but think of Liberty City Survivor ad from GTA too. Along with the one that parodies violence-heavy video games.

Seriously, that monologue sounded like something you could read on some 13 year old's blog.

I remember people going after Linkin Park when I was younger because a kid who murdered someone said he was inspired by the lyrics of 'in the end' psychopaths are going to find something to latch onto eventually. Do people really think getting rid of these things is really going to help the situation? Fox news seems to think so. Every freaking week it's something new with them. I'm tired of their shitty little witch hunts they keep having. Doesn't matter what I listen to, what I play, what I watch, there will always be someone there to tell me what a terrible and messed up person I am for it.

Oh well. Nothing new I guess. I grew up having to deal with this ignorance and I don't expect it to stop anytime soon.

What'll make me angry is parental reaction. People who have never ever in their lives played a video game now will go on some justice crusade against a medium they know nothing about.

Did you expect Shakespeare from a psychopath who's justifying mass murder? No matter what he/she says, it's still gonna be total bull.

Anyway, the game should be released. I doubt many people will get into it. Gamers don't buy games to kill people really. Even if the objective is to kill people. Let's use GTA for an example, the reason it's so popular is because X Y Z B C A D L F and whatnot. It's not bought under the "I'm gonna kill tons of people now" process.

Sure, there's probably a few who do.

But we're talking hundreds in the face of millions.

I have been discussing this game on the Obsidian forums. For me I think this game is appalling, it sets a new low in gaming development

The developers think that the current available games don't offer entertainment and are too politically correct so there solution to "entertainment and novelty " is a game where you go on a mass killing spree against civilians and police. Its not the same as games like GTA because in games like that mass killings are not the core purpose of the game, they are optional

But  what  will happen is some people will support this game because of the negative publicity and they will think they are playing something that offers a "unique " gaming experience when in fact its just insipid
