Yeah, that one's messed up. I can't explain or defend that at all.WHAT WHAT?!
You can't select more than one party member?
What kind of bullshit is that?
No auto attack outside of tactical cam

I think we already explained it in the other thread...twitch action (you mentioned MP).

Is this a joke? What is bioware thinking? This is getting worse and worse, i hope i don't have to reconsider the purchase of this game.

Doesn't dai have a queue system?
It should, considering "Clear Commands" is one of the four icons on the bar next to the potions slots.

I played Dragon Age 2 on the Xbox 360 and never realized they patched in the toggle later on. The lack of auto-attack was the biggest combat-related negative for me. While I learned to play that way, I didn't like it as much as origins. I thought auto-attack was a given on DA:I.... ![]()

Would you please explain that? It's been confirmed there is no auto-attack outside of tactical view, and if we do every fight in tactical view that will be time-consuming in a bad way.
Or can we set up auto-attack through tactical options and then have them remain active when we switch modes?

That is how I believe it will be. Or just an on/off toggle in the gameplay options.
The thing is this... we know it's going to be different than the console version. And Laidlaw went through a lot of combat mechanics the other day, how to do a bunch of stuff on pc, how it differs from the console version. He would NOT have skipped over something this controversial. It's much more likely that it works like it's always worked on PC, and The dev today was simply mistaken.
I may be wrong. But that's how it seems. That is a Huge, huge negative reveal to just have somebody mention so casually. IMO

You know this false flag BS in this stupid pc/console smear campaign war is getting ridiculous.
Mocking voice: Consoles are to blame for multiplayer. Consoles are to blame for limited abilities. Consoles are to blame for change in leveling system. Consoles are to blame for tac came auto attacking.
Can we go a thread. A single thread about an aspect people don't like in DA, without blaming either Consoles or PC's for the problem?
They see console players as minorities and as history shows people like to blame the minorities. Discrimination is the easiest answer for everything to blame for.
I bet they hate on different races too and blame them for everything.

Nice strawman. Why would PC players think of console players as minorities? They're the majority...
If anything, those kinds of comments arise due to the PC players being treated for so long as a minority not worth consideration.
I'm not talking about Bioware specifically, because they've generally been quite PC-friendly. The same can't be said for much of the industry.

This is.............not a big deal. I can live with having to hold a button to auto attack.
Where was it confirmed that you can't select more than one party member? Thats just very odd in a party based game but again, I can live with it.

I'm not following you, could you elaborate? I'm saying that nobody thinks of console players as minorities, that doesn't make sense.

It's true, consoles ruin everything and my opinion of the Canadian race will never recover.

What I would like to know is this:
(1) Is tactical mode a viable way to play the whole game? As in, I enter tactical mode when the game starts and never leave it until I finish?
(2) Can I zoom in and out without leaving tactical mode?
(3) Can I use the WASD keys as well as the mouse to move while in tactical mode?
If the answer to all of these is "yes", then the lack of auto-attack outside of tactical view is a non-issue. If the answer to (1) is "yes" and to (2) and (3) "no", it's an issue but not a big one. If the answers to (1) and (2) are "yes" and to (3) "no", it's a non-issue after some adaptation.
(4) Are there group "hold" and group "attack" commands?
If so, then the lack of the ability to select the whole party is a non-issue, because that's all a group select is good for. I know there is a "attack my target" command, and I know there's a hold position command. The only thing I don't know if the hold position command affects or can affect the whole party.
And as an unrelated question about tactical mode:
(5) Can I tell my party members not to auto-use AOE attacks? I want to play with friendly fire on...

Every time I see something good about the game and consider pre-ordering something bad like this comes along that puts me off. And this is REALLY bad.

The first time I will be knight enchanter and considering our 'sword' attack cost mana the no AA will not bother me. The second time around it will probably boher me, but I prefer to give them a chance and play the game first before judging whether it is horrible or not.
...and doesn't having AA in tactical cam take care of the problem? I understand that you won't want to bother to keep pressing a button (or spamming it) with every random bear or some such not so threatening mob, but for such mobs your 3 party members will probably be enought so you are free to sit on the sidelines and /cheer?
)
...for more intense battles I suspect you will be in tactical cam anyway
...what worries me more is that for the console version we will not (if I understood correctly - pause outside of tactical cam is PC only...?) have pause....but maybe it auto-pause when we are choosing abilities? Although I too wonder if we can play the whole game in tactical cam...

I prefer to click once and the character will continue to attack until i tell him to do something else, no matter what camera i'm in, but interesting enough i don't think i would mind holding the attack button on the MP.
