1. You have to make sure they are willing/have thick skin

2. Make sure others know that outsiders know that you are doing this as a humor, not just bullying.

The fact that the double post remark was a "joke" doesn't make it a funny one. In fact I am quite pleased with how I turned it around and ended with a remark that seems to have gone right over your head, but I'm not really surprised by that.

 

But yes I'm clearly the self-absorbed one here. Shouldn't you be off diverting more threads to talk about yourself? You seem to get grumpy when you don't have others groveling about and liking your every post.

I don't think any "kind" of joke is unacceptable.

 

Telling certain jokes in certain settings can certainly be very unwise. It can also be very insensitive. Neither being unwise or being insensitive are unacceptable (if they were, most people couldn't function in society.)

I think anything can be joked about in a certain light, however, there is a time and a place for certain jokes and people should remember that (e.g. if you tell a rape joke to someone you know is/was a rape victim, then you're a piece of ****).
