I agree he covers the aspect, but I don't feel too sure about when it becomes a cliche.

That could be very hard to say because it's a very old archetype.  Perseus is another that encompasses both of the Unwilling Hero and Marked by Fate Archetypes as well and there are lots of others.  Classifying some of these base archetypes to exact points for that is very difficult because they go in and out of fashion repeatedly in storytelling depending on the times and events in history.  King Arthur is another one that is popular that we still know well today that seems to embody both of these as well and it's believed the original story for that dates back to at least the 5th century.  In a way King Arthur is even truer to the archetype as we know it now because he pretty much always struggles with his role as Hero and King in the story.

It's entirely possible to be an unwilling hero and not necessarily have them whine it.

After all, look at Commander Shepard. They didn't want the visions burned into their brain in ME1, to be forced to go rogue and mount a suicide mission in ME2, as well as be entrusted with completing Operation: Avengers Assemble to save the galaxy in ME3. But rather than complain, in each game they instead grabbed a gun, assembled a crew and decided to go and be a Big Damn Hero instead.

Now that, is the kind of Inquisitor i'm hoping we can roll!

If only if it was Operation Avengers Assemble. I would have loved it then..

(my main gripe is the crappy role me2 characters played. Don't even care about the Ending drama much. This is what pissed me off the most).

Anyhow, I think my Warden is the reluctant hero of my playthroughs. I kind of want my Inquisitor to be more duty bound like the above.

"What has the galaxy ever done for you?! Why do you wanna save it?!"
"Because I'm one of the idiots who LIVES IN IT!"

Guardians of the Galaxy said it all.

"I will not suffer even an unknowing rival."

Even if you don't want to be involved in the Inquisiton, the Elder One is gunning for you no matter what.
