I never (DA:O being the lone exception) buy strategy guides for video games because like everyone says, almost all the info in them can be easily found online for free + so much more. Plus, most games are so shallow or linear that a guide is generally useless.

However, I am making an exception for DA:I, and I'll be buying the guide with the game. Reason being because I bought the DA:O guide on a whim while it was on sale back when I got that game, and I found that guide to be a great reference to me in easily building the specific characters I wanted, and helped me ensure that each unique playthrough went in the direction I wanted it to go, and ultimatly made me feel like I got more fulfillment and completion out of the game. Even on my 5th playthrough years later I am still referencing back to the guide for specific nuggets of information that I don't want to bother looking up online for.

In a way, I still feel it's a bit silly for me to spend money on a print guide, but because of the positive experience I had with the DA:O one, I'll do it anyway.

I might if I can't get it from a friend. If for no reason but to pawn it on eBay in twenty years.

I have bought the previous two games collectors edition guides, but more for the extra lore that was in them then for the actual game info.

I actually pre-ordered the Inquisitor's Edition, the super hardback with the bookmarks. I was going to cancel it, but then i realised that Amazon jacked the price up by a good £20 after I ordered it, so I'm letting it sit for now...

I never saw the point in buying them due to the whole online thing if I really wanted to get some tips.

Personally I like figuring out things on my own in most cases, though.

Yes, I like to have them for DA games. There's always things I miss without them, and I don't like using the internet for walkthroughs and extras. I ordered the super shiny Inquisitor's Edition to go with my Quizzie's Edition of the game. :)

Im going to order the collector's edition solely for the digital downloads that come with it! I'm hoping they are more customization options for Skyhold... But I dont even think I will open the guide itself. I prefer to explore on my own

I collect strategy guides I have some for games I never owned but I usually buy them 2nd hand or on sale.  Rarely use them.

I've never bought one before, but I've ordered this one. Partially because of the unknown dlc, partially because I'm not great with open world-like games, I tend to get sidetracked. And also, I don't want to do puzzles in a Bioware ever again, so hoping the solutions to the astrariums are in there.

Pre-ordered the collector's edition myself mostly for my first "canon" "perfect" playthrough. I want to find the best route wherein everyone lives at the end and has cookies.

Ha! The puzzle solutions are a big reason for me too. I literally never played through the DA2 Fade section without my guide book open so I could finish those barrels in a hurry. I detest puzzles; always have and always will. :D The puzzle section in MOTA gave me nightmares.

Yep. I preordered the hardback version :P I don't normally order them, but... I'm curious about the 'extra digital content'.

Nah. I either get to figure things out on my own or use the internet.

I always buy the strategy guide for the video games I buy.  Normally I'm not bothered by spoilers, but I'm so jazzed about this game that I'm planning to be frugal with my guide usage, though I'll probably read it cover to cover for my second playthrough.

Ordered the collector's version. I never actually use them for playing a game but I usually like to take a look at the photos and any lore info inside after completing a run through or two.

I'm too much into the digital world to be interested in a printed copy. And I don't see the point of a strategy guide when a Wiki is much more effective for when you're stuck in a quest.

Yes, I'm getting the hardback version with the DLC.

I haven't bought a game guide in years, but for a game as big as this one I suspect it will be months before comprehensive guides are available online and I don't want to muck up my first playthrough. A physical book is more convenient in some ways, too.

I'm hoping that the later release date will give Prima more time to fact-check and we'll get a higher quality guide as a result.

I'm on the fence, I loooove DLC and I wanted to make sure I had something to help me find all the schematics and look at all the armors to see which I like best. I hope that's something that this guide will have! I've never really gotten guides before, but this game just looks like it's going to have so many small things I don't want to miss.
If I get it, it will be from Amazon, it'll just suck getting it a week after I've started playing. :(
