It seems that every single game EA makes has to have multiplayer in, even if the game doesn't suit it, or doesn't need multiplayer?

Multiplayer in some games cuts down on piracy because the average player needs a legit copy to play online. This is one strategy used which may partially explain the DA addition, other then the fact it looks damn fun.

There's also the extra revenue they may generate from multi-player packs. Not everyone will buy them, but the ones who do generally tend to splurge, that was the case with some former friends of mine and some online multi-player games.

It's a viable way to make a little bit more money.

While I'm personally not a fan of online multiplayer I see no problem with it whatsoever. Other people enjoy it, and those that don't, well we don't have to play it if we don't want to. It's optional, so yay! lol

Of course everyone has noticed this, it's not a secret, hahah. EA has stated that all their games will have some form of multiplayer from now on, and DAI is no exception.

I remember being shut down when I said that DAI would have MP by being told that the Keep is their MP and that I'm wrong.  Joke's on them now, ha!

We have it in Mass Effect 3 because we thought we could make a fun MP experience that tied into the ME universe. Many people liked it.

Need for Speed 3 had multi-player in 1998. Loved that game at LAN parties!

No surprise at all.

Meh. as long as the single player game holds up, which I believe it will, does it matter?

MP is just a bonus that people can take or leave as they see fit, of course a few people may well decide to focus on MP only as well.

That is not an in house EA game, developed by one of their many studios, it was only published by EA, Same as shadows of the damned

Also EA Has stopped publishing other companies games

Well ok, but why is that a problem?

I mean having a multiplayer component certainly increases the value of the game for the player doesn't it?

I don't think  Multiplayer is a bad idea, Some people probably feel like its being tacked on to certain games with strong single player experiences i.e Dead Space 2 which was kinda bland. DAI's Multiplayer looks dope though.

Not really. If you don't play it, having it added in is just meaningless. And there's usually a shared design gameplay-wise to make both modes work, so it could potentially be a detriment depending on what the goal is for the MP experience. Though I personally think in the case of DA there's no real difference between MP and the consoles.

And now.....Dragon Age?

Mass Effect 3 had fantastic multiplayer, and its a pretty strong indication that Bioware knows what they're doing. Nothing about Inquisitions multiplayer looks "tacked on" which I am assuming is what you mean....that it doesn't have depth...that its being forced to cater to the highest denominator. But...I will admit...I was skeptical of Mass Effect 3's multiplayer when it was first announced...luckily I didn't simply shun it...thankfully I tried it out and found myself sinking hours into it.

On paper....it doesn't make sense to have multiplayer in a single player open world rpg, but that's also without the context of Mass Effect 3's success...and without actually looking into what this multiplayer mode entails. With a little research you would find that this mode makes a lot of sense and it will give players a chance to play roles in DA:I that they wouldn't be able to normally...from what we've heard each character has a personality and backstory...they banter much like the companions will in our group, and they're not the center of the story. I find that exciting, and I cant wait.

As long as SP isn't over shadowed, as it was in ME3 case, i'm fine with it.

Do you mean by Galactic Readiness? I believe they have already said that multiplayer will not affect singleplayer. Or do you mean by amount DLC?
