I am.  I originally planned to romance Solas first, but after watching the PC UI stream through YT and seeing Josephine greet the Dalish Inquisitor in Elvish, I'm seriously rethinking that.  Damn it BW, why'd you have to do that?!   :(

Anyone else having this issue?

I have some concerns about romancing Cassandra with a mage, but I might do it anyway since she's pretty much the only option.  If the relationship fails, that could still provides some interesting drama...

i didn't let my dalish warden being dalish affect my decision of who i will romance, i won't let it affect my decision in inquisition either. i get why you might consider picking someone more "appropriate" but i mean its really up to you and how you roleplay the game.

Is that really all it took to make you change your mind? I have a tendency try not to plan ahead the love interests  concretely. I learned that first hand when I played Origins the first time. I knew I liked both Morrigan and Leliana and I had two Wardens. But the Warden I that I had intended for Leliana fell for Morrigan and the Warden I had thought would work better with Morrigan fell for Leliana.

My tentative plan for my first Dalish Inquisitor is Sera, but for all I know I might like Joesphine better. Hell, it could even be Cullen or something. But probably not.

I wasn't really letting the fact that my first Inquisitor is going to be Dalish affect my choice of LI (if I was playing as a human, I'd probably have a go at romancing Sera anyway).  It's just that the fact that Josephine greets a Dalish Inquisitor in Elvish that's making me rethink who I plan on romancing.  Really, I leave the LI up to the personality I have planned for my PC, so it really has nothing to do with race... well, unless I'm playing as a dwarf.  Then I'm probably not going to romance anyone because of the height difference (at least, in DA:O).  Actually, most of my Wardens were elves and most of the ones that had a LI ended up with a human.  Not to mention that 4 of my Hawkes have romanced either Fenris or Merrill.

Well, tbh, I seriously wasn't expecting anyone to greet a Dalish Inquisitor in Elvish other than a fellow Dalish elf, so it was a huge surprise to see Josephine greet a Dalish Inquisitor in Elvish.  Since I'm a huge Dalish fan, that instantly made me like her a lot more than I already did.

I usually plan my LIs out ahead of time because I know that I'm going to get to them all eventually, so all I need to figure out is which order I'm going to romance them in.  But I see what you mean.  I originally planned to romance Morrigan in my first DA:O playthrough, but I eventually went with Leliana because I felt that her romance was a lot easier.  I also wanted to romance Seb in my blood mage Hawke playthrough, but I realized how much chemistry my Hawke and Merrill had, so I ended up going with Merrill.  90% of the time, though, I stick with whichever romance I planned to go with.

As for DA:I, since we're still waiting for it and we don't have a complete grasp of all the LIs' personalities yet, it's tricky just to stick with going with one LI first.  I originally planned to go with Sera, then something pulled me towards settling on Solas, and now Josephine greeting the Dalish Inquisitor in Elvish is making me rethink who I'm going to romance first yet again.  Damn it.  :/

I don't suppose there was a dialogue option that said, "Do not profane the language of the People, shemlen," was there?

:P  j/k of course...

Anyway, I think you should base your decision on the personality and class of the Inquisitor... For example, a more serious and scholarly individual might favor Solas whereas a thrill seeker might favor Sera.  Unless you think that opposites attract... then you can simply reverse the two.  A mage should definitely get with Solas though, since they have something in common right off the bat, but warriors and rogues could work for either of them...  I have to admit that I'm a bit biased against Josephine because IMO an advisor romance doesn't bring much to the table... at least, it's not as appealing to me as a companion romance would be (no party banter, no dialogue during quests, etc).  Hope some of that advice helps...

Yeah, that's what I normally do.  My f!Wardens that romanced Alistair tended to joke around somewhat, but they knew when to be serious.  My f!Warden that romanced Zevran was a bit more on the carefree side, but that was more of a cover for the pain she carried from losing Tamlen.  On the other hand, my Wardens that romanced Leliana were a bit more assertive and diplomatic, while my m!Wardens that romanced Morrigan were pretty witty, but also fairly pragmatic.

The main problem I'm having now is that I could see my f!Dalish ending up with Solas, Sera, or Josephine.  I still want to romance Solas first, but I also want to romance Josephine first.  I suppose I could romance Josephine in my second playthrough, but with the personality I have planned for my second Inquisitor, I'm not sure if it'd make sense to me.  Maybe I could do something along the lines of my m!Qunari opening up to Josephine the most because she's more open-minded than most of the other available LIs, but idk.  Could also wait until my 4th playthrough to romance Josephine, possibly playing as a Dalish mage.  * shrugs *  Guess I'll have to think about it.

Hm... you may be better off waiting until you meet them in the game.  I doubt you have to flirt with the potential LI immediately or lose access to the romance plot.  Unless you are trying to go for a "love at first sight" kind of thing...

tbh, I haven't exactly planned that out.  Maybe I'll go with it starting (in my headcanon, I mean) when Solas helps my f!Dalish learn how to close the Fade Breaches (going off the Enemy of Thedas trailer, so I don't know how early in the game that is).

... you know what?  I guess I'll just romance Solas in my first playthrough and save Josephine for my 4th playthrough.  I'll just headcanon that Josephine greeting her in Elvish made her a bit less out of place and they eventually become good friends.   ^_^  (though, if there's an option for a 3-way, I'll try to go for it )

I was so sure I was going to romance Sera, as I've been waiting on an official BioWare lesbian elf/elf relationship option for over a decade, but her "cool elf who doesn't relate to other elves" schtick that they keep pushing, combined with Solas who seems more concerned in proving himself to humans (not to mention his rather fascinating story reasons) left me re-thinking it.

Maybe I'll make two Dalish Inquisitors. One for Sera and one for Solas, though Creators know which one will come first.

If you decide to make different characters, you might have an easier time deciding on an LI based on class.  I really do think that, depending on personality, a mage would have more in common with Solas than any other potential LI (well, except for Dorian, but he's not an option here).  However, if your characters are all the same class, or you have a warrior and a rogue, that could get a little trickier...

up until they announced Solas as a LI, i had no set LI for my first play through which was a female Elf Mage, at first i was going to romance Sera then bam here comes Solas, and i changed my mind. So no i haven't really changed my mind because Sera wasn't set in stone to begin with.

Damn its hard for me, I am going to create only 1 Main Inquisitor, and he will be my main char in DA universe, but I want my char to be an Elf that romances another Elven... damn BW... lol

Otherwise I am single right now, and I want my char to be ME, ya I know sounded stupid but I dont plan him to romance anyone.

I can't really decide between Josephine or Sera....hmm....maybe Blackwall? I don't know lol :P

Whatever romance I pick, I'm sure I wont reach it on my first playthrough. I can't complete a playthrough if my life depended on it. Took me a year and a half to finally beat DAO and bout 2 years to actually beat DA2 XD

:0  Really?  So do you find out what happened at the end on the wiki, or does it not really matter you?  Something else entirely...?

Yeah I always try to find out what happens at the end xD Figured out what happened at the end of DA2 a few months after I started playing (I wasn't on the BSN when the ending thing got leaked)

As for DAO, it was so long ago I can't really remember. I do remember, though, finding out alot of the quests and romances through the wiki so I knew exactly what I'd want to do and get the desired outcome.

I do the same for books and tv shows. I almost always read the first chapter of a book and then read the last page XD. It always amuses me to see a character I don't recognize at the end of a book and then find out where they come into the story as I read.

In short, I iz luv spoilers =3

A few people told me the same thing recently... that's an interesting perspective, though I personally can't approach things that way.  Knowing the ending to a story tends to ruin my desire to see the events unfold, unless it is an exceptionally good story.  Like Legion of Super-Heroes comics, for example... I knew how their story ended but then went back and read almost every issue from 1976-the late 90's... but that's rare.  If I see a Let's Play of a game I've never played before, I usually never feel the desire to play it at all...  which is actually nice for PC titles that I won't have a chance to play anytime soon.

Now that I think about it, I've done that a lot with comics, but that's because the same series tend to go on for decades, and the only way to know what's going on is to read the back issues...

Anyway... I'll just toss out my romance recommendation so that I'm still somewhat on-topic... of those three I'd go for either Blackwall or Sera, depending on the Inquisitor's class.  If the Quizzy is a warrior, then Sera, if the Quizzy is a rogue or mage, then Blackwall (tank).  As you can tell, I'm biased against advisor LIs since they can't travel with us, but those are my suggestions, regardless...

I'm pretty sure I won't get bored of DAI XD

I've finished DAO about 5 or 6 times and DA2 twice.

And there are hundreds (Literally) of playthroughs I've started that I've never finished.

Nowadays I don't finish my playthroughs cuz I'm honestly a bit bored of both games even though I still like them. But for the longest time, I didn't finish playthroughs because I was so excited to start a new character that it would just be impossible for me to finish my old one.  :)

I don't know. Since I replayed DA:O so many times it makes me ill just to look at it, I wanted to limit my DAI playthroughs to just three: one for each non-human race, one for each class. I was thinking maybe a mage elf, rogue archer dwarf, and warrior vashoth.

Playing twice as an elf might just have to be the way to go. First playthrough as whatever decisions and romance seems right at the time, the second one probably being meta decisions I know will end well (and carry over well for sequels) and the other romance I didn't pick the first time.

My first playthrough will be a Qunari, but my second will probably be Dalish. I reckon she'll go for Sera.
