I hate Cullen...

I don't really hate him.  I disagree with his views on mages, but that doesn't mean I hate him.  Much like how the only hang-up I have with Fenris is all his anti-mage views.

I've grown to hate Anders quite a bit now, tbh.  He really annoys the hell out of me when he constantly rips on Merrill for being a blood mage, especially during her Act II and Act III quests.  Not to mention the fact that he won't shut up about mages no matter what.  Seriously, sometimes I just want to punch him in the face.  I also dislike Seb for a few reasons.  He's boring as hell, he pretends that the mage/Templar conflict in Act III is smaller than it actually is, he's very preachy, not to mention that he's interested in Bethany .  They're the only 2 companions I actually hate.  If Anders wasn't the only healer available in DA2, I'd never bring him with me.  I already ignore Seb completely.

Really, the only character in DA:I that I'm annoyed with is Leliana and that's because she has been in all 3 games regardless of what happens to her in DA:O.  Seriously, she's almost like Liara in ME, imo.  The only difference is that she's human and not romanceable in DA:I.   <_<

Not becouse what he have done in the chantry, well not only, but becouse he's bloody personality, those quests you mean... with merill... SPOILER!

One of the lines I have really hated from him is when that City Elf that becomes a dalish hunter? Dies, and Merill cries and he is like "Well maybe he ran away from a blood mage and said Haaaa!!" kind of it however, I REALLY HATE HIM.

Yes but Fenris have an actual reason to hate the mages, being slave and all, he had a hard life and magic is uspicous to him, but even so. He can side with YOU in the last straw in act 3, if you side with the mages. Cullen however, he say no matter what side you support even templars. "I thought we will only arrest the champion" No matter if you are a mage or not. Thats one of the reason I hate him. Other than that, Ladylionhart. I remember you said you are a woman irl right? If you are not sorry to bother, but. Can you tell me, why most of the womans that play DA games love Cullen SO MUCH? Well if you ask me the same question about Leliana its becouse idk.. She's sweet...  Oh and gamer. I like Leliana.. I want her to return... But! I am sure it makes pepole angry that "no matter what she will live" But have they confirmed it? What if there is a secret advisor instead of Leliana and we dont know? If there is, and she is an elf with the same personallty and a romance.... OH GOD!!!! I really hope there is a secret companion or a secret romance, am I blabbering? Wow I am blabbering I feel like Merill right now lol

I understand his reasoning, it's just that he blames all mages for what he went through when Danarius owned him.  He thinks that the vast majority of mages are just looking for a reason to resort to blood magic when that is actually far from the truth.

As for Cullen, it was actually Meredith who planned to arrest Hawke, not him.  He was questioning Meredith's sudden 180.  What matters is that he ultimately sides with you to fight Meredith, regardless of whether you helped the mages or the Templars.

You can 'kill' Leliana when you defile the Ashes in DA:O with her in your party.  She shows up in DA2 as Sister Nightingale, as she would if you didn't 'kill' her.  Her explanation is that she was able to use the Ashes to heal herself, so really, she has some of the best plot armor in DA.

To be fair, what Fenris went through when Danarius owned him was far from unusual in Tevinter. Well, okay, the lyrium tattoos and amnesia from the blinding agony isn't common, but being used for magical experimentation, having his memories and personality tampered with to make him more compliant, being conditioned into complacency so he can't imagine a life outside of pleasing his master, etc. is very common in Tevinter.

What's more, when it comes to blood magic, most Tevinter mages DO look for a reason to use blood magic, since Tevinter culture values power, greed, and ambition, and blood magic is the best way to do it. As Fenris himself notes, there are mages with good intentions and high-ranking mages within Tevinter that don't use blood magic to hurt others, but they're so out-numbered and over-shadowed by those that do that they don't exactly make a lasting difference in the world.

Not to mention that Tevinter is one of the few mage-run societies in Thedas after the spread of Andrasteism, and it doesn't lend itself to recommendation. When most societies in the world keep mages under wraps (Andraste and Qunari culture) while the ONE large-scale society that doesn't is filled with greed, corruption, and magic used as a tool to conquer, enslave, experiment with, and/or sacrifice non-mages, and Fenris was born and raised in that environment... it's hard to blame him for walking away with that worldview.

That said, I don't think he's right. The Chasind and Avvar have their Shamans, the Rivaini have their Seers, and the Dalish have their Keepers, and in fact were always mage-friendly, and they don't go around conquering or enslaving others the way Tevinter or even non-magic powerhouses like Orlais and the Qunari do.

I'm not saying Fenris is right, but I think Fenris' life experiences lend themselves more toward his worldview than against. It's not like Danarius was the rare abusive owner when most Tevinter magisters/officials are benevolent, or that he hasn't seen so many mages resort to blood magic that his belief that they do is a straight case of sampling bias.
