Meh.  I loved Bethany as a "sister character".  Could you imagine Hawke's reaction---5 seconds after fighting whatever that spider thing is, Inquisitor starts hitting on Hawke's virginal sister?  Considering my Hawke got all up in Aveline's husband's grill (forget his name) for even suggesting harming Bethany, I'd be pissed if someone got away with leery and creepy remarks to her.

Bethany is like 30 now.  Hawke should learn to treat her as an adult.

Naw Isabela was a wench. For some that is not attractive.

Wench means young woman. "To wench" (verb) is to consort with prostitutes. Isabela isn't a prostitute, so are you saying that young women aren't attractive? Seems like an odd blanket statement...

Why does she have breast tattoos? Somehow, I don't think this is canon...

depends where you're from, modern english is very malleable, most words used today aren't used in the same context as the used to be.

modern usage of wench in Sydney Australia (despite what many think regional differences are quite large in aus with many phrases and words used completely differently depending where you're from, see: mickey mouse) for example, a wench is typically used to refer to a woman who's unattractive in either looks or personality or a woman who, let's say is rather generous when choosing sexual partners.

That's 3 different definitions depending on context. even so i doubt the macquarie dictionary would have any of them as the official definition.

That's essentially why I was asking for clarification.

A wench is a woman who pours the ale in a tavern, Oren. Or a woman who drinks a lot of ale.

you can argue whatever you want, my statements are facts. Most of hawkes family dies? fact. hawke could potentially end up with no siblings? fact.

Cullens' DAI bio is based upon official lore, which means that both devs and writers alike, place far more importance on Cullens' presence story wise, than they do Bethanys, its offical lore, a *fact* no matter what you think about it, being "bs".

I am not attacking Cullen in truth I put him with Liara both are good characters but I don't see their appeal oh yeah as for your Facts save them the Hawke/Sibling one especially is the outcome of taking away players choice/agency.So how is that a good example of Bethany/Carver being meaningless if the game is bad of course the handling of characters will be as well.

Seriously though your sounding alot like a Cullen fan. <_<

I don't want to romance either of them, but I do want to see SiblingHawke in DAI. SiblingHawke is the best Hawke.

are you kidding? my game carver and hawke hated each other, was a genuine surprise that carver didn't side with meredith and try and kill me.

Of course after the fight he's just gone....... hell cullen stuck around but carver isn't anywhere as the screen pans out.

A wench is a woman who pours the ale in a tavern, Oren. Or a woman who drinks a lot of ale.

As has already been established, there are multiple colloquialisms, in addition to the formal definitions. I was asking in what context it was being used to describe Isabela.

I never really considered that the intended meaning was that Isabela was unattractive because she was a bartender.

Call me insane, but i preferred Carver over Bethany. It was wonderful to see his character develop over time as a Grey Warden in my main DA2 game. :) As for a Bethany romance, I don't see it likely unless they make the siblings important characters for a DA game. Given the different states they can have, I don't see it likely for Inquisition and perhaps future games aswell. A glorious cameo though where Bethany/Carver and Hawke helps us out though would be very nice :D

If Cullen was gone from the game or never introduced i wouldnt care one way or the other, my inq will be an elf who despises humans, so i have no plans to romance him. I keep telling you that based upon official lore he has far more importance to the story than Bethany does, thats been my original stand point from the get go. The very first thing i said in this thread is that Bethany is completely unimportant to the overarching storyline, something that bioware clearly intended, otherwise they wouldnt introduce numerous opportunities to kill her off throughout the game. I also think its funny that you think the game is bad, but are completely obsessed with a minor character introduced in said bad game, Its only bad when the story doesnt agree with your preferences it seems. Maybe the next game should be named Bethany age 4, would that please you? You seem just as rabid of a Bethany fan, as any of the Cullen fans you keep going on about.

She was one of the few characters I actually like in DA2 right next Isabela. Always kept her in my party throughout Act 1. I hope they do bring her back. Maybe the Warden next to Hawke in the trailer will actually be Bethany/Carver.

I'd say she's unapealing because of all the flirting around, and possible STDs.
