So, we've all heard that Frostbite is a bear to try modding.  Not sure why this is, I'm no computer expert, but there it is.  I'm sure some intrepid modders will do it and I will haunt nexus to see what's available.  Most of my enjoyment of DAO and DA2 came from the modding community keeping my game fresh for double the amount of playthroughs both games would have seen from me than without mods.  Of course, I played them on PC only, so never really had to play Xbox or PS versions.

Going on the theory we can't mod the game, what would you, as a player, be willing to pay for (as in DLC) to get as modifications to the game, and the reasons why you may like to have those mods.

Most of mine would be cosmetic.

My first would be: More Character Creation options.

Without having seen the full Customization options, (and it's my understanding they are huge!) I'd still like more hairstyles, maybe more realistic/unrealistic textures in hair and skin tone, colors, makeup, tattooes.  Reason: Just because more is always better. :D  I'd pay real money for that.  Yes.

Alternate appearances for the companions.

I usually run defaults for the first half dozen games, but after about 5-6 runs I get really sick of staring at 'oh, it's this guy's face' again.  Characters can be beautiful in their own way but how many of you would like the option to alter them just a smidge?  There are enough mods on Nexus to convince me I am not alone in this.  To me, Morrigan was beautiful, but I hated her squinty, cartoony textured yellow eyes.  For the love of God, she had YELLOW EYES...and that raccoony purple makeup.  Aveline whose overplucked eyebrows bothered me more than her square jaw.  Tomas in Redcliffe (small role, yes) and his overlong horse face.  All of these characters saw some changes (slight) to their appearance.  A DLC with like 5-6 different faces to pick from for companions (wouldn't have to be every npc even) would be something I'd buy.  Reason: Because looking at the same faces for 600+ hours makes you notice all the flaws inherent in their design.  To the point of gouging out your eyes.  With a spork.

Alternately there could be an 'ancient Tevinter device'--a mirror even--that allows you to reset appearance (within set parameters, even hair/makeup would be enough to freshen it for me).

There are lots of other things I'd do with mods, but these two features really pop for me.  What would you like to see as mods/DLC for the game?

I think Bioware's done much better with the default faces this time, so I'm not so bothered about any alternate appearance mods.

More hair options for qunari would be my first and pretty much only choice right now.

I think about the most we can hope for is some extra hair and face options, and some armor and weapon reskins. That said, from what we have seen of DAI, it looks like the devs have paid a lot of attention to which mods are popular with players and have tried to incorporate some of those things into the game, so it may well be that mods are not overly needed.

My real concern is that the game will have bugs that Bioware will not patch correctly and that modders will not be able to correct them due to the difficulty of working with Frostbite. DAO is a mess of unresolved bugs and faulty mechanics (even with patch 1.04, which added all new bugs) without mods to correct them, and DAA is almost unplayable without mods to fix the many gamebreaking bugs that infest it. If Bioware can release a relatively bug free game at launch and then patch anything that leaks through, I will be pleased, but Bioware's track record of bug squashing is not very good, and it has tended to fall to modders to pick up the slack.

The only mods I had installed for DA2 were mods that enhanced the character creator and armor/clothes mods. So far the only stuff that I'd be interested in terms of mods for DA:I as well. More Hair options, more clothes, especially for skyhold and the orlesian ball(s) we'll be visiting.

Besides a mod that would allow me to ravish Cullen on a male PC, nothing comes to mind.

Ill probably install a few should they become available as I always do. Bugfixes are a main priority.

Yeah, I would want to see more longer hair mods, and more hair mods for qunari females especially. I want the hair that the original female qunari concept art has.

the only thing would be better hair, which is surprising coming from me, considering that in the past its been facial textures and lack of ability to edit facial features in detail, but this time around bioware has done an absolutely amazing job with that, and im very pleased. The textures look really nice, the options to tweak the face are numerous and awesome and that slider with the glossiness of the lips in the cc, love it

Would be nice to have a half-way attractive female companion.  Not a supermodel, just something that's not a sad joke to straight men.

- more hair options (long hair)

- probably bug fixes

- character overhaul mod for cassandra (less masculine and unattatractive look)

But I don't expect any of this to be possible with the engine.

Body (I want more curves!), clothing, armor and hair mods. The kinda thing we will probably never see in DA:I.

And the ability to edit cutscenes so I can change current walk animation for femquisitor...

Other than the obvious quickbar and toning down the flashiness of abilities I'm all about hair and clothing mods.

Casual clothes especially in this case as it seems they've gone the ME route and given the quizzy only one outfit to wear around Skyhold. From what we've seen of it I don't dislike the outfit, although it is too much white for my taste, but I'm not looking forward to having just that outfit to wear outside of combat.

I'm hoping Leliana's outfit is going to be possible for human female Inquisitors at some point.

Hopefully I'll be able to mod the class flags or something to allow "multi-classing", we will see I guess.

The only DLC I would buy would be ones that gave me a reason to play through the whole game again, new specializations or party members ect.  I'm not a fan of the quality of Bio's bite chunk story DLC.

Right cause we wouldn't dare presume that anything I post here would be my opinion and not the opinion of every person on earth.  Get a grip dude.  Do I really need to finish every post I make with "And That's My Opinion" so you don't get confused?

Demand of the Comb: To fix the much maligned lack of hairstyle options for Qunari Inquisitors, finally allowing them longer hair.

Release the Hounds: Defend your keeps with a contingent of Mabari Warhounds.

And if we're talking expansion DLC?

Whodunnit?: A murder has occured in Skyhold and it's upto the Inqusitor to uncover the truth. (Because the Dragon Age version of Cluedo would be awesome).

Still not totally sure, but the developer's console may be able to be activated on PC that could, with luck, help in fixing broken plots and bugs.

As for mods/DLC? It's hard to say for certain since I haven't even seen the base game.
