So, we've all heard that Frostbite is a bear to try modding. Not sure why this is, I'm no computer expert, but there it is. I'm sure some intrepid modders will do it and I will haunt nexus to see what's available. Most of my enjoyment of DAO and DA2 came from the modding community keeping my game fresh for double the amount of playthroughs both games would have seen from me than without mods. Of course, I played them on PC only, so never really had to play Xbox or PS versions.
Going on the theory we can't mod the game, what would you, as a player, be willing to pay for (as in DLC) to get as modifications to the game, and the reasons why you may like to have those mods.
Most of mine would be cosmetic.
My first would be: More Character Creation options.
Without having seen the full Customization options, (and it's my understanding they are huge!) I'd still like more hairstyles, maybe more realistic/unrealistic textures in hair and skin tone, colors, makeup, tattooes. Reason: Just because more is always better.
I'd pay real money for that. Yes.
Alternate appearances for the companions.
I usually run defaults for the first half dozen games, but after about 5-6 runs I get really sick of staring at 'oh, it's this guy's face' again. Characters can be beautiful in their own way but how many of you would like the option to alter them just a smidge? There are enough mods on Nexus to convince me I am not alone in this. To me, Morrigan was beautiful, but I hated her squinty, cartoony textured yellow eyes. For the love of God, she had YELLOW EYES...and that raccoony purple makeup. Aveline whose overplucked eyebrows bothered me more than her square jaw. Tomas in Redcliffe (small role, yes) and his overlong horse face. All of these characters saw some changes (slight) to their appearance. A DLC with like 5-6 different faces to pick from for companions (wouldn't have to be every npc even) would be something I'd buy. Reason: Because looking at the same faces for 600+ hours makes you notice all the flaws inherent in their design. To the point of gouging out your eyes. With a spork.
Alternately there could be an 'ancient Tevinter device'--a mirror even--that allows you to reset appearance (within set parameters, even hair/makeup would be enough to freshen it for me).
There are lots of other things I'd do with mods, but these two features really pop for me. What would you like to see as mods/DLC for the game?
