Warning:following thread is just a my imgination of alternative ME3 play.

 

The story:In the end of ME3 Commander Shepard dissapointed with Alliance doing nothing

against the Reapers remains with Cerberus.

Alternative start of ME3 is in the Cerberus HQ conversation with Illusive Man.

Shepard learns of attack on Earth.Despite the Illusive Man's order Shepard rushes to Sol system

to help.There he witnesses total Alliance inability to deal with this threat and death of a lot civilian

population.Shepard returns to Cerberus HQ and there Illusive Man orders him to be jailed for

disobidiance of orders.With Miranda's help Shepard escapes.

Now Cerberus is divided.Part of Cerberus now follows Shepard.Meantime Shepard rushes to Mars

alerted by Miri of discovery of ancient weapon there.Liara meets Shepard there.

During the game one of main goals of Shepard is to take over Cerberus competly.

With Miranda help he succeds.Now Miranda takes over Cerberus and with Shepard together

plots the war against Reapers.Alliance is total loss.Cerberus evacuates a lot civies from Sol system.

And begins to work on Crucible.

Cerberus successfully attacks and takes over the Citadel.The Council is executed.

Too much Miranda for my liking but I like the general idea

I like the executing of the council part.

If ME needed less of anything, it was the whole "humanity uber alles" vibe. And you want to make more of it.

WW2 footage, patched together, mostly German, from the Invasion of the Soviet Union (Operation Barbarossa), Stalingrad bombings (with the Junkers Ju 87 (also called the Stuka)), as well as shooting down some American B-17 Flying Fortresses over Germany.  

 

Interestingly enough, it pretty much fits with your idea for your story.  Many Historians consider Barbarossa the be the Death Knell of the Third Reich, as Germany had literally no idea the manpower available to the Soviets, nor anything of their military production capacity.  At the height of Barbarossa they got within a few (about 20) kilometers of Moscow, only to fizzle out in the freezing cold.  All in all,  it was the biggest operation in world history in terms of both manpower and casualties.

 

Attacking the Alliance and the Citadel, and executing the Council would likely divide all of the Council races.  Galactic Economy would collapse, and all of the other races of the known Galaxy would see Humanity as trying to take over.  It surely fits with how Cerberus operates, I grant you that.  However, it would end up more like the Beer Hall Putsch than anything else.  That's my guess anyhow.

 

Interestingly enough, it IS the Council that is the biggest problem with the War against the Reapers.  I chalk this up to bad writing, really - but I think I see why the writers chose to do it this way.  It creates that sense of tension, and sets us to the task of convincing everyone to work together.  The Reapers seem to understand this, and do not attack all of the Council planets simultaneously as a divide and conquer scheme.

 

Your ideas certainly have merit - but I for one am sick of Cerberus.  I was intrigued by Cerberus in ME1 when it had Salarians in it.  I got my fill in ME2, and in ME3 I was totally fed up.

Second:I think my idea would give ME3 great alternative playthrough.

Especially for those who let the Council die in ME1.

The scene:Shepard is standing in the middle of Citadel doing nothing watching.

Cerberus troops are running shooting everything.

Side scene:some Cererus soldier enetring the store where some asari selling stuff.

He shooting the asari and walks out.

Another asari still alive lying on the floor close to Shepard feet.He pulling his gun and finishes her off.

Mayhem and slaughter.Blood and corpses is everywhere.

Shepard slowly walking onto the Presidium where Cerberus soldiers presenting to him the Council members

on their knees.Shepard is looking at them and noding.Cerberus soldiers linig up and shoot the Council.

Their bodies fall down into the red lake.Red of blood.

No one's going to follow Cerberus. And without the resources and work done by the other races, well, the Crucible doesn't get built. Hell, it doesn't even get *started*.

 

So yeah. Reapers win. The way they've always won.
