I am not permitted to contact BioWare or EA about SWTOR, not even to inquire about payment methods.

I cannot really describe the extent to which this baffling policy seems short-sighted, aloof, unhelpful, self-defeating, and financially unwise.

I am attempting to address a couple of issues with my account. I had been seriously considering purchasing the game and subscribing, but when the company in question refuses to allow me to seek support for my "stuck" account, and won't even let me talk to a customer representative to ask about payment options, it's hard to imagine a rational person giving that company money with no way of knowing whether their account can/would be fixed.

Obviously, it's nigh unto pointless to ask about this in here, but I honestly can't fathom any other option.

In any case, I'd be happy to hear from anyone about how I can resolve these issues, but I have no expectations. I still can't help but note one more time that this is literally costing EA/BioWare a customer, and not because I'm upset or unwilling, but because they refuse to let me become one under this... just... utterly confusing policy.

Edit: Coincidentally, the "Post Hanging Lag" problem of the last week is preventing me from posting this topic. I've tried twice now, and it just hangs there... :l

So, after having EA refuse to allow me to communicate with them, I had to go to the SWTOR player community for help. Obviously, they can't do anything about the bigger questions, but several helpful people talked me through troubleshooting, and I was able to get things reset and mostly working again (for the record, I have an abundance of experience with BioWare's customer base providing bug testing, bug solutions, workarounds, and general troubleshooting help to their fellow gamers, with great generosity.)

I don't really know what I can say about an experience that taught me the only way to get any SWTOR-related help was to go to BioWare/EA's customer base.

Truth is, even though my account is working again, I have decided against becoming a subscriber. I don't doubt that once I start throwing money at the problem, I could probably convince someone to actually answer my questions, but I'm just not confident enough to give money to a company that refuses to even answer questions about its product unless you pay them to talk to you.

So... big never mind on this one, I guess. /Endhuffyspeech

SWTOR is done by Bioware Austin though, who don't have a section here (and don't have their own forums either). This is just Bioware Edmonton and Montreal who so far do ME and DA.
