I finally cleared one, again. I think it was game #14 (I cleared my first 3, but none since then.)
Now that I know about this "scoreboard" thing, I've noticed that I seem to consistently be at the top of it.
I'm not sure what that means, given that I'm still leveling my first character. It's an archer, though, and I did take Long Shot, so I'm assuming that has something to do with it.
Promoted my Reaver to test critiques of the previously posted build and to see if the glitch had gotten any less stupid (spoiler: it hasn't) and leveled her enough to have Rampage, but didn't have enough points for DR yet. Was doing fine until wave 4 where I fell through the architecture of an Orlesian stairwell and got stuck behind/in a tree. Eventually my character did a weird super-jump out of the tree and kicked in a treasure room wall, waiting for the rest of the party to get back from the end wave door before opening the chest and releasing a Revenant. Popped Rampage and started hacking away at the Revenant who took not even scratch damage, to which he immediately downed my Reaver in two hits. Yay for armor glitches! Then after that, I gained super crawling speed from the Rampage and immediately bled out after leaving the treasure room threshold. The others kacked the Revenant and got us to wave 5, where Rampage decided to do both the no-health-giving and the health draining when nothing is actually hitting you because you killed the mooks right in front of you. Then, of course, the Demon Commander immediately murdered me right after I was rezzed and shortly thereafter the party wiped. Joyous day. Yeah, Rampage is totally so much better than Smashy-smashy-eggman.

My last PUG match, I got stuck playing with these trolls lpconfig and Boatzu...
All they did was talk about how bloody great their 1337 Arcane Warrior+Spirit Mark build was!

So... when I try and use my Evade maneuver there, and it fails completely to have any effect (the graphic happens, but I just re-appear where I started and get hit anyway) I'm guessing that's lag? Or can some enemies cancel your defensive powers?

Lag/whatever the correct term is. Enemies arent canceling the power.

Last enemies dead, the Legionnaires are calling the Archer to open a Treasure Room.
Archer ignores them and runs through the next lobby, teleporting our party forward.
Legionnaires start swinging blows at the Archer, who retaliates with Leaping Shots.
Very funny 
(nearly swamped by a group of demons while the hissy fit proceeds).

I had a game with what I think is probably the douchiest Assassin ever.
Then, later, I experienced lag on a scale that I'm actually going to make a thread about.
It's either "I'm walking on a treadmill" or "I'm teleporting everywhere!" I know people who need to see this, won't see this, but... please, if you're hosting, don't do anything else. Stop uploading those pics of your drunken New Year's party to Facebook. Stop downloading pr0ns. At least, while you're playing the game. I know, I know, that's not the problem sometimes, but it could be a lot of it.
tl;dr plz don't host unless you have a pitch perfect connection.

As in, a hero dropped in and it was magnificent.
An Assassin and I (Legionnaire with a horrible, horrible mace because lolWeekendChallenge) readied up for a duo after the two of us sat through musical chairs in a lobby of people coming and going.
We two-manned it all right against Venatori at the Chateau (me tanking, her flanking) until the very latter part of Wave 4, when the Assassin went down for a final time and, therefore, was impossible to revive. I collected a lovely portion of swordsman, a few archers, and a mage. Was actually pretty surprised and impressed with how long I lasted in an absolute sea of Tevinter humanity... I actually couldn't see what I was doing for the most part because I was swamped, so I just desperately swung that mace, Shield Walled, and put my Guard back up as soon as possible.
I was down to using my last health potion and steadily making slow headway in the crowd, but was simply outnumbered and not yet skilled enough to really solo. But right before I fell, in comes an Elementalist joining the room. WHAT A RELIEF. Dude's crowd control was a life-saver and by the time I did finally fall, the enemy was almost cleared out and he could run past to revive me. An Archer dropped in around that time, so the four of us had an easy-peasy Wave 5 and a fun, smooth round of matches afterwards.

I don't know how many times I've been in a pug and heard my teammates comment over the mic, "wow, this keeper actually uses barrier, I hope they stick around". It feels good to make someone's day.
After judiciously crossing my fingers to get the necessary leather to craft Assassin Armour, I managed to salvage what I needed, and will actually get to finish at least one of the weekend challenges.
And boy, on Routine, even a level 1 Assassin is pretty deadly! I'm half-way to 100 kills after only one game with her.
