Oh, Narnia. You speak of the abject horror that is the DMZ, or or Oblivion I take it. I hate it when that happens. If you're lucky you can get out next zone....if not....

My last two perilous dragon runs went off without a hitch. Two keepers, a Katari and AW. Not exactly hard.

Perilous has been more successful than threatening for me lately, honest to goodness.

The one bug that I hate the most and cannot forgive BioWare for cropped up a couple times on the weekend, that being Narnia.

I haven't seen Narnia for weeks/months. On PC that is.

Joined a Perilous Pug, 2 good players, one bad player and me.

I varied from poor to average.

First match was already in place in Wave 3 Ferelden and I noticed that my duelist was the third Duelist plus a Keeper.

Talk about being a third wheel.  I haven't played with multiple Duelists yet and it threw me off unexpectedly.

I had trouble keeping Elusive going and then had trouble getting the kills to get Health back.

Nobody else hit the gong which surprised me.  I didn't know if they were waiting for someone else to hit it or deliberately not using it to have more enemies/xp on wave 5.

I hit the gong for the team and no one seemed to complain.

My Elusive problems continued and I hit the fade on the Dragon for the first time with the Duelist and realised that no matter how I used Vendetta I never seemed to grab the Elusive.

Not sure how other Duelists have learned to work together but I was clearly struggling.

The host swapped from Duelist to Avvar and while the Keeper continued to struggle my Elusive issues seemed to fade and I was able to stay full of Elusive and fully Green with only one other Duelist to work with. I was still distracted by some family household goings on and also was still the only one with a Dragon's Call apparently but as I felt I was being half carried by the the 2 strong players that seemed fair to pop for them.  I finished with success but didn't feel my XP contribution was where it needed to be.

Lesson learned was be wary of too many Duelists, or maybe just L2P with multiples on my part.

Yeah, you kind of have to split the workload with two duelists. I always leave or switch if I see two already present.

Two is overkill, three is near certain death in my experience.

Sadly, AW has circled around in my rotation so I'm too bored to pay any attention to how the matches are going......lost the last one to Red Twirly Commander.

Why people trying to kick level 8 duelist on threatening difficulty? Castle is serious business.

Either they do not understand how powerful she is; maybe unsure if you were up for it; knew they'd bumped from #1 score position; lord knows

They're what we in the trade call, DUHHHHHs.

Personally I think kicking anything at 5 on threatening is a hate crime though.

We aren't all hopeless noobs.

Speaking of whom, I met quite a few today. I swear AW is cursed. Had to solo a few final rounds with varying success. I'm not even that good, stop leaving me to do it.

I even kindly kited Red Templar Censored for them and they all still died. I unplugged the mic to prevent a diplomatic incident.

Ooh... 100 pages...

Cool+Guys+Don+t+Look+at+Explosions.+Keep

Sure, I stole the thread, but it's mine, now, and it made it 100 pages. I never imagined this, back in the days when it was a little threadlet, and there was no such thing as DAMP PuGs because the game hadn't come out, yet.

Another hacker. Lv5 Duelist was host on perilous FC. Was playing Avvar and it felt unusually easy. Then I paid attention to the numbers, 12k on a KM strike.

The name was Frost_O or Jack Frost_O or something like that.

OK, this is an odd one.

Currently ongoing too.

Two guys with a separate X in their name, didn't move for two zones. I believe they won't budge because they want this level 8 avvar kicked.

This is on threatening, and the Avvar has held his own so I don't see reason to kick him.

They both appear to be snobby SOBs, "look at my pathfinder title".

Probably 12 year olds.

They can **** right off.

It was a modded Perilous. My Duelist was hitting targets with bolt for 30,000+.  I never even had a chance to build elusive. I bailed in Zone 2.

So damn weird...

....Yes, I love fighting through zone 1-3 on my own on Perilous, really appreciate you joining me at the end of zone 3 and pulling me into zone 4 without anyone ringing the gong..  If you had just waited a few seconds, I have 26 Dragon Calls, I don't mind using them.. Do it on your own.. Rage Quit..

On the plus side I had 4 more Peri matches after that with a great team which went smooth as anything, got duplicate Staff and Daggers but still, it made up for the first experience...

I don't mind when underequipped unexperienced players join my PuG in perilous dragon hunts, but least shouldn't they:

1. show some respect to other players by bringing characters they try to contribute something not level 1 assassin going to the fade faster than I can check

2. ready up next run in timely fashion rather than go shopping if they are just riding along

3. not open doors in zone 3 of FC and go into stealth in a corner and not say anything

oh well I still enjoy PuG, only way to meet new players who becomes friends

Is there any common "etiquette" on the gong? I view it as the job of the leader who presumably chose to go after a dragon to make the summoning commitment. When I am PUGing I don't care if I fight the dragon so I have no interest in the gong.

Agreed, it should be the leader imo however I often just go ahead and use one as I have enough resources to keep reasonably stocked with calls.  The dragon is actually easier than the normal last wave if you ask me in any case.

I don't think there is an etiquette as such, I might just mistakenly presume that players who are on FC Perilous are after the Dragon Weapons.. I have no problem ringing the gong but I was nowhere near it nor was I given a chance to.. I was in the tunnels underneath clearing up the treasures..

Host should gong first time, then if others stick about for more, it should be someone else's turn.  IMO.

@ Stinja - that's a good plan, except how does one know how many missions this particular person has hosted?

I try to give folks the benefit of the doubt, if they aren't ringing the gong, they probably don't have a Dragon Call.  (We all know they aren't cheap - when the only leather I have available is tier 3 rare, you can be darned sure I'm not making one.)  That said, if I have one, and no one else seems willing, and I am in a position to make more, I don't mind using it.  I want dragon goodies as much as my fellow players, after all.  Most of my pugs are routine/random, so I'm not choosing to go after a dragon, per se...but I don't think that exempts me from ponying up once in a while.
