Managed to get some hatemail just now. I was level 6 ele on threatening and with me were an avvar and alchemist. Zone 2 or so and they both die with a good number of enemies (red templars) around, I'm like nope definitely going to die if I rezz those guys so I just kite rest of the enemies to death. The avvar sends me a message "ress you newb"

I laughed.

I just rocked 10 or so PUG perilous with ghost of TimTim and a rotation of 250 character clears banner pugs and this one newbie that did well with not getting in the way and being useful/fun.

Thank god for people who are willing to be teachable, wiling to be patient when I have to afk here and there, and friends and promotion gods that don't mind carrying my "think I'm good but in reality am useless" ass.

Even got TimTim's undying challenge done

I want to just say that BW are as usual major trolls in the challenge department and I am pretty sure that someone somewhere at their offices is laughing pretty hard right now.

The undying challenge is let's say... frustrating to complete with pugs.

giphy.gif

Omg, I tried so hard to keep them alive. And I was not even playing perilous, it was merely threatening. I tried using Keeper and barrier everyone. But there was always that lone archer which somehow got away from the group and in the exactly 3 seconds that he didn't have barrier died right away. On wave 5. After killing the RTC. With two enemies left on the map. Wuuuuuuut.  Then, in the lobby I jokingly tell the guy that we're trying to do the Undying challenge and to please please not die. Which is something, since I never ever speak on mic but it was an important occasion. Of course, he dies. And he's level 20. On threatening. With barrier to go around almost always. A disturbing amount of facepalms were had.

Then, I decided that the best defense is offense. Just grab Izzy and kill everything before they manage to get to the pugs. Good strategy, except it doesn't work for wave 5. There you just cannot kill everything before the pugs manage to get themselves killed.

So, I tried the Virtuoso. As a matter of fact, I rarely play him and Izzy on threatening (just to level up from 1) since they are so powerful. Infinite barrier, amiright? What could go wrong? So we do one match, and indeed, by infinite spamming barrier and power chord everyone is alive and well. So, let's continue with him. Second match, wave 4, Tevinter ruins. At the last area with the rogue door on the left I, a lego and keeper fight the enemies because we got the aggro and otherwise they would have followed us into the room. However, a wild assassin appears! They use open the treasure room while everyone is fighting a group of enemies! It's super effective! Assassin dies shamefully (while I curse at everyone from their family three generations back, on mute of course. This isn't Call of Booty). How did they manage to do so, I cannot even fathom... there wasn't a revenant in the room, just some warriors and archers.

So... yes, I needed to vent that. I hate all the pugs that I played with today. I cannot describe how much I hate them. #firstworldproblems

Hehe, I feel your pain on the dying pug situation.  Yesterday, I was combining getting a couple of courtesy levels on my Lego, farming some mace kills, and some credit for Undying. Started a solo lobby, set it to the castle and left it public. Solo all the way, and since I'm doing farming, figure I might as well call the dragon and get a point towards that silly 15 routine dragons. This, considering I was playing a level 1 Lego, was a bad idea and I should feel bad. About 5 minutes into punching the dragon with very little effect (remember, mace farming, and my best mace, while it does have the always charming exploding enemies trait, doesn't do that much actual damage to the large lizard.). Fortunately, an arcane warrior appears. "Yay!", I exclaim into my muted microphone. This is followed by much cursing as he dies and ragequits.

Eventually I died from boredom, as in I stopped hitting the dragon and let it have a dwarf-sized snack.

I thought ahead and just solo'd the challenge. And that's why it's a bad challenge, basically encourages soloing and makes you rage over teammates' mistakes. Was grinding out my poison kills anyway so two stones with one bird eh.

In a great party killing perilous dragons. Almost finished with an inferno dragon and the dragon age servers go down and kick me out. This is supposed to be a Playstation issue not an xbox one

HAHAHA

Seriously, shadows and assassins were my number one fear. I am still impressed they didn´t manage to OHK anyone while we were doing the challenge. Small miracles.

I have totally done this!! In nearly the exact same scenario.  Sooo funny.  I'm glad someone else understands.  You think:  I still have full health and could go on against her forever.  And t hen you think, and that's exactly how long this is going to take.

Hate leads to the dark side. Your hate just makes PUGS stronger*.

*stronger = able to die more quickly

See, this is why I solo. It's totally not because I don't have any friends/when I try to play with people in the US, lag kicks me in the balls/no-one wants to play with the original Faceplant Scrub™.

I choose isolation. I'm like Yoda.

The sad part is that I was playing with sabre and we both couldn't keep pugs alive.  Ultra mega fail.

I did finish the challenge solo. 7-min routine solo with Izzy sure beats asfafssdgg many threatening games with pugs where I try to keep them alive and get my cortisol levels through the roof.  Final count is: 2 points from perilous games (with friends), 3 veeeery veeeeeery hard earned points from threatening pugs and 1 routine solo.

This is normal. I am surprised you manage to keep HIM alive

But no, hey, if it´s any comfort, we played last night as three friends+pug lobby and people(Sabre) were still dying. Don´t feel bad.

I got trolled by my ps4 yesterday. Near the end of a match, it randomly ejected the game disc. Apparently this is a somewhat common thing, but I had never seen it do that.

CTD in zone 5. Hurriedly got the game back on to try and rejoin. Got into the same lobby as the host from the last game to find he wasn't in-game and hadn't advanced either, so I guess it broke for everyone.

Don't hate on pugs, elevate your game. Watch out for the weaker players, bring those healing mists with you.

I like the synergy of the challenges. It can be well challenging depending on what you want. One challenge really rewards playing on perilous, another rewards killing dragons, and then you have the undying one. Trying to do all three in a perilous pug is plenty challenging.

Co-op at its best.

Played AW on Fereldan Castle. I kept my shields up while the fire dragon put well placed fire balls on top of me, making short work of the demons.

I am not sure how I could have elevated my game at this point. Split in two so that I can guard the group and the pug that decides to rambo a room maybe?

Now don't get me wrong. In general, I like helping other players and being as much a team player as I can be. But everyone has their limit where they reach the oh hell freaking no point.

Not a pug, but one of my best and most skillful moments in DAIMP. Zone 4 FC, perilous. My assassin sees two venatori stalkers circling a templar, dancing and twirling away from all melee strikes. She runs over, and one of the stalkers beaks away to meet her. There is a lull in the chaos as they face each other. As if by unwritten agreement, neither uses stealth. My assassin even waits for her residual barrier to run down. And then, in a whirlwind of daggers, they clash! These two titans, bringers of death, revelling in the- oh sh*t I'm in the fade, assassin can't facetank a stalker. Rez me pls.

Later, I managed to stonefist a shadow off the castle bridge. Frack yeah, go straight to hell, do not pass go, do not collect a small cup of water, you sewing needle piece of sh*t.

Running perilous FC on elementalist, joined up with an avaar, reaver, and virt.  Round one got called a newbie, and had to listen to the avaar lamenting our demise.  Third round got yelled at again cause I popped the free treasure room to lower the bridge.  Kill the dragon and I thought he was going to have a heart attack.  Guess he looked at the score a little closer cause at the lobby he was very nice to me....

Nice guy once he calmed down.

First match on start up and I get no UI. Normally I can try to power through the match, this time however there was an AFk player on zone 5 and I couldn't kick vote them, so we had to wait till they just left the game. Sorry to whoever was in that match, don't even know who it was as I had no UI.

Fail.

Had time for a quick few threatening games this am.  The first two went off without a hitch, the last one ended in a colossal wipe.

Vs Red Tramplars, as soon as the flag is planted one player does the 'over here!' bit and runs off.  The others follow.  My alchemist doesn't want to follow as I have a suspicion I know where they are going and the reaver leading the way had been downed a fair bit.  I kill a few things and sure enough see one dead player pretty quick, I run back to the rest of the group and sure enough they have gone into the room of death with only one exit.

Why people go there vs the Tramplers I'll never know.  I should have just stayed away and I'm pretty sure I could have solo'd the rest of the final wave in bits and pieces but noooooo I have to go back and try to bail things out.  Result, all dead

Logged in to do the daily then scootch on back to Diablo 3. It has no description but since it's called "Demon Butcher" it has to be about killing demons right? First match, I drop into a threatening match in progress, mid zone two. They had already killed Druffy, and it was against demons. Cool. We finish the match fairly easily and I come first with 56 weapon kills and some ability kills, but somehow I'm only at 30 demon kills. (F*king dogs -.-) Anyways, I stay with that group for a couple more matches which are both red templars. By match four it's only me and a Lego left, and we start an FC match with the two of us. It's demons, so yay, I can finish this up. Then I get to zone 3... and it's my very first FC Gnarnia. Now? Really? Screw Gnarnia.

Last match I bring my lvl 20 elementalist (so much going on this week I'm not promoting in case a tough challenge comes up and I don't have much time). Another lvl 20 and an 18 come in. Get all the doors no problem extract and on to the next match. Solid group so I switch to my lvl 4 necro. Again running smooth. Early in zone 2 I get a mage door so in I go. Just a horror so no problem, just keep freezing it and plugging away. I'm perfectly fine, get him down to almost dead and they open the door to teleport me. Ugh. I ignore the next three mage doors listening to the blissful cry of "Over here!!" No says I, no more doors for you. Whats that? You just opened a door? No says I, teleport. Sorry you couldn't wait for 5 more seconds that one time. Super dickmode, activate.
