Also, why level 17+ players still need to play on threatening difficulty escapes me. It is very difficult to find a perilious PUG for me, and when I do, they play like noobs, probably because they were used to their OP runs in threatening with all epic equipment...

I don't have any level 17 characters, but I still play Routine with my level 10-15 characters. Mainly because when I try to go into threatening, the odds of the team wiping are very high (and I only really have one powerful item, even though it applies to all of my characters because it's an accessory.)

I don't know how it is for most people, but I only have maybe 20 hours in MP, and my weapons and armour are not so powerful that I don't go down almost immediately in Threatening if teammates aren't drawing aggro.

Because I can't find Perilous matches, and if I do, they're filled with incompetent pugs.

The jump from threatening to perilous is quite large. It is not for everyone, and it requires top of the line equipment and teamwork and team synergy. Or you can have more then one OP class like Arcane Warrior etc. or just one person who is really good playing them. Then its just easy.

I prefer to do my perilous pug runs with keeper, that way I can almost actually carry most teams, atleast those with decent damage.

Got tired of the infinite search loop and revolving door lobbies... so, when I got left alone as the host, just started the game on my Necromancer. Made it all the way to round 4's end (Venatori, Elven Ruins, protect the Inquisition dude) and the archers made short work of me. Didn't tap the potion key fast enough. Then, an AW, Lego and Archer swooped in. They didn't stick around long enough for me to remember their names, but we pulled off an easy win.

Thanks dudes, whoever you are.  ^_^

I second that it's not for everyone

Beside good stuff ,there are some good players

My last victory perilous with team mates keeper lvl 4 and arcane warrior lvl 11 while I played AW lvl 19 to promote at the end .

Oh facepalm it was not pug :)

Yeah, another hallmark of a typical PUG, they kick a level 6 character on threatening, as if the level would be decisive in a game where the equipment and skill is the dominant factor. BTW, totally weird why Bioware chose to not make equipment visible for the group.

The game itself recommends levels 8-16, you can hardly blame them for a kick,

They don't know you have good kit...

Fair point. I regularily go with low level chars because I assume they know what they are doing. They usually do. The PUG screw ups mostly come from overconfident level 16-20 characters...

I had to send a guy a message last night to leave after the key glitch, even though his mic was on and multiple people told him to go. I don't understand why he thought waiting forever would fix it. I almost want to quit lobbies now if I see an archer/keeper/lego with no title or banner.

Had a pug night before last where one of my team mates was playing Taylor Swift.

It was annoying.

And then became hilarious when he started singing along.

If I see someone with low level I will check the gamercard (on Xbox) before kicking.

If they have played a shed load of hours I won't kick.

(that does not always guarantee the wisdom of the choice)

They were playing Taylor Swift?

For a second there that sounded like a player class.

I'm quite tempted, would I play Taylor as a warrior, rogue or mage class?  :D

Harlot. That's how I'd play her.

You've been here a while and only clocked 20 hours of MP. Lazy!

It is possible for the key to drop if you wait, but I've only seen it when there are enemies that just stand there, not registering as dead until after we wait a while.  If you can't see any enemies and the key refuses to drop, odds are it won't drop at all.

Doesn't mean I'll bother sticking around when I get the key glitch, but if I'm with a good group and it's the former situation, I'll try waiting a couple minutes.

Boy, I really cannot handle Threatening.

Since I was talked into installing the DLC, I guess wiping in the first two minutes is one way of avoiding the key bug.

A crash to desktop. Marvelous. Just...marvelous.

Fortunately they don't happen often, but I imagine the PUGs I'm with wonder what in the hell happened to me.

For the past 2 days I've been running a weird build for my Keeper, so I've been doing Routine/Threatening games.  On one Routine game we're doing the 5th zone with the Red Templars.  The Red Templar Commander starts winding up for whirlwind and I notice my teammates aren't running away from him, so I unmute my mic and tell them to run.

One of the players, the archer unmutes his mic and tells me "Sorry for messing up."

I reply, "Dude it's all good, it's routine, gotta learn somewhere."

He was surprised to learn I was fine with him messing up, which surprised me.  The next game we do he tells me that he's still figuring multiplayer out and people have mostly been yelling at him if he gets hit by the Commanders' abilities.  So I decide I'll do my good deed for the day.

I managed to show him and the other two teammates(Found out they were new to multiplayer as well.) the mechanics of the Red Templar and Demon Commanders.  They've caught on and yesterday playing with them I noticed that things were going a lot smoother.  It was good times and I got a few more people to play DAMP with on my friendlist.  I hope I get more runs like this in the near future :D

In my last PuG, I had some lovely "Over here!" spammers, whom I have now reached the point of habitually ignoring.

It was Demons, so of course when we reach Zone 5, they immediately start spamming "Over here!" and "Fall back!" from The Room™. Not only do I have no interest in fighting the Demon Commander in a tiny room with three other people getting OSK'd at the same time as me, but I am now refusing to listen to anyone who spams "Over here!" anyway.

So I fight the rest of the faction while they repeatedly all get downed in the little room against the DC. Even though I'm taking on 3 times as many opponents by myself without going down, they somehow never clue in that mobility is a better survival tactic than "trapped in room."

Of course, I can't solo a DC, and eventually I had to, so that put a fairly quick end to things (even though I had cleared about 75% of the enemies we needed to.) Once back in the lobby, I had 2 kick votes on me.

Ah, PuGs. I suck, but not as bad as they did. :P

I loaded into a game in progress, and was hit with a host migration before I even got there. By the time it finished, I was alone, at the beginning of Zone 4. I managed to solo my way fairly deep into Zone 5 with a level 11 Keeper, but all that running around in a circle eventually caught up to me (due to stunlock, of course.)

Does that even count as a PUG game by that point?  Sounds more like pick up, minus the group.   :P

I've been playing assassin recently.  I'm sure there is a lot of PUGs who now think I cheat because of how fast bosses drop with a well spec'ed and geared build.
