Oh, actually I did notice another potential issue for the key glitch.

We did have an Elementalist using the meteor power, as well, but on two different occasions that it happened, someone had spirit marked a dog, which was still around after all the other enemies were gone.

I couldn't help but wonder if that was part of the problem, too.

And I got it again...

I think I get it in over 50% of my games, now. I'm definitely going to have to uninstall the DLC.

Had a series of fairly competent pugs on Threatening earlier.  I was going to play as my Katari, but since there was already a Katari and a Legionnaire in the lobby, I switched over to my level 18 Assassin.  A level 19 Necromancer dropped in and we did a couple matches until they leveled up to 20 and switch to a level 15 Keeper.

I was dominating, massacring all the demons we ran into (4 games in a row vs. them).  Hidden Blades, FTW!

The second match we did after the Necromancer switched to the Keeper (who, thankfully, actually used Barrier to keep everyone up), I ended up getting a Barrier on me that wouldn't naturally decay.  At first I though the health bar was glitching out and that I didn't actually have any Barrier.  Turns out that I was wrong, since the Barrier was taking damage, not my health.  Ended up finishing the match with a health bar's worth of Barrier left.  Anyone else have this?

Oh, and I also ran into an Elementalist that actually had Barrier and didn't spam Firestorm.  Pleasantly surprising set of pugs today.

I heard confusion grenades will solve the problem of enemies being alive, but unkillable, as in your example.  Havent had the chance to test it out though.  I can confirm it doesnt work on giants, but they are immune to the grenade anyway.

My first time getting kicked. No idea why, tho'. I just showed up, and two were kicking me, third left, and the kick votes of the remaining two dumped me.

Maybe they don't like Templars.

Uninstalling the DLC was the right call.

I was getting the key bug in over half of my games. Plus, I can use the Reaver without fear again!

Oh, right, my last PuG... I'm pretty sure I wasn't able to hear someone else on their mic (that happens occasionally) but I could sure hear the leader! He was very happy. Actually, I think the word he used was, "high." It took me a while to be fairly sure that there was actually someone else that he was talking to that I just couldn't hear.

And we did quite well against demons. I believe it was my first success against demons on Threatening. There was a lot of cooperation.

Only received a handful of barriers on my Legionnaire despite the rest of the team being all mages. Was not entirely surprised when we wiped at zone 5. I'm using skills that build up my guard constantly (War Cry, Unbowed, Walking Fortress), but my guard can only hold so long without support. :/

A Necro was pissed when I entered an ongoing run with my lvl17 assassin on perilious and expressed this very verbally at the end of the run. No idea why, for sure I was not the first to fall and cause the group wipe. Some runs later, I enter a group with him in it again. He does a kickvote but rethinks and lets the game start. We made it through this time.

I hope he saw that a lvl 17 assassin can hold its own on perilious, mine with two epic daggers for sure, and the reason why my assassin usually ranks low score is because I focus on enemies which are a possible reason for a wipe in a given situation. But it takes time to run up stealthed to that despair demon or that archer group. And the latter sometimes still kill me with instant shots even when being only briefly visible with stealthattack > deathblow > flank attack (despite my 100% threat reduction passive...). Heck I even get shot sometimes when I have already entered stealth. Goddamn buggy/laggy game. I get the feeling that I will have to play as host to be really effective, like the ME3MP vanguard.

Reaver and Katari aren't receiving proper armour values against attacks from the front. I don't understand the details (apparently, no one does, yet.)

It seems to be an issue with the Adamant passive.  After promoting my Reaver last night and retesting the damage values, they seemed to be correct.

Trick is to avoid elementalists. For the millionth time. It has worked for me since I started doing it. Unless you are in a private game, where people know not to use firestorm when dogs are around. Kill the dogs first and use firestorm till the sky comes falling.

I have actually today pulled out my elementalist to do perilous runs and it works like a charm, once you know when to not use it. Felt good playing god again.

I just started using spirit mark and much to my chagrin I had cast it on a arcane horror in a chest room and then to my horror realized that it would not release the chest even after we had killed him because his spirit version was just standing there.  The rest of the group ran off to complete the level while I stood there like a dummy waiting for it to dissipate or end or whatever.  I just barely got the contents of the chest before the group bumped me to the next level.

I never really found any use of unbowed. I used to think to the death was useless - but now I think it is mandatory. So I run Counterstrike, To the death, walking fortress and war cry or shield wall. I also used to feel naked not having shield wall but with to the death it is not really nescessary. Use it on large enemies and bosses and you can generate tons of guard just by hitting them.

While this is a completely useless skill due to the poorly programmed AI as far as I'm concerned - I am pretty sure you can cancel the mark to avoid this from happening. I've never used it but I'm pretty sure I've seen it done. Also, why would you even use spirit mark on an enemy that doesnt have anything to hit, which is the case mostly when fighting chest guardians.

Team mates had activated a spawn outside the room but quickly polished it off.  I didn't know you could cancel it.  This was the 1st character I've tried it on, more curious than anything about the skill.

It happens in games without elementalists.

Yeah yeah yeah.

Do you care to do the math? If I'm going to do it off the top of my head (only counting pugs with no team communication) I would say the glitch ratio is:

Elementalists using firestorm on stages with dogs: 90% of the time
Without elemtentalist: 2-5% of the time.

This is according to my experience, on the PC platform. And I do play quite a lot. Also, when doing pugs you cant trust any elementalist to be carefull with Firestorm when there is dogs around. I even tried to tell a guy not to after he joined my ongoing game as an elementalist (someone dropped) - and what does he do next? He firestorms the dogs. What happened? Well, the game glitched. Thank you, moron.

Playing pugs is a different matter as you can always rehost, or focus down dogs before opening the skies which will work, as I've tried that a lot recently.

While soloing, about 150 games using all types of classes, I have now had one key glitch using the alchemist and mines, and in about four sologames with Ele, I've had a 50% glitch rate due to variations of enemies. Both glitches happened on levels with dogs.

If this happens while using other characters it is only a rare occurance, and not really gamebreaking. While using firestorm on stages with dogs is.

I dont know what else you need to be convinced.

EDIT: This happens mostly when there is an "afterspawn" of dogs on the map - which is quite common when dogs are on the map. They will spawn in a tight group somewhere around halfway through the map or closer to the end. My theory in those cases is that the late spawning of the dogs gets glitched by knockaround spells, that will throw them into the wall, or kill them before they have actually spawned, which will make them not spawn at all and glitch the level. This is only a theory though and doesnt apply to every case either. I've also had this happened because enemies have spawned in locations that are unreachable to you. Even if you DO manage to kill them, it is not certain that the key will drop. For example I've had a large red golem spawn on top of a bridge in the chateu on one of the outdoor stages where there is a line of sight towards the end of stage door, and a treasure room on the other end. Theres a bridge going across it above, and this is where the golem spawned. Killing him with the archer, did not result in a key drop.

I was avoiding elementalists. It didn't work, as over half of my games still got the bug.

It happened even when there were no spellcasters in the party, period.

It happened when I was duoing with an Alchemist.

Elementalists are not the principle cause of the bug.

The problem with doing "the math" off the top of your head is that it's going to give you the same skewed results as your original confirmation bias. The reason people do actual testing is to avoid that problem.

Elementalists using firestorm on stages with dogs: 0.001% of the time
Without elemtentalist: 10000% of the time.

FTFY. I can pull stats out of nowhere too.

Well, I have been testing this quite a lot actually. I call it playing shitloads. While I havent written down the results, I do know that the glitch rarely EVER happens to me anymore at all, while it happens a lot to other people. And the only thing I'm doing differently, is that I avoid elementalists in PUG games.

There is no bias involved. It is just simple logic.

It happened when I was duoing with an Alchemist.

Mines can easily cause the glitch. If that was used.
