Started some public Nightmare runs solo because quick match can't find anything.

Fist game:
An Arcane Warrior joins me at the end of zone one. We run through the next zone or two pretty smoothly, then get joined by a level 19 Assassin. The Assassin seems to be doing all right, other than the fact that they keep spamming "Over here!" at every door. At the start of zone 5 everything quickly goes downhill. The Arcane Warrior dies in the first 30 seconds. I would go revive him, but at this point I realize why the Assassin wasn't dying in the last couple zones; they are hiding in a corner in stealth. I kite everything for a few minutes, waiting for the Assassin's stealth to run out so I can get a break from all the archers and the mage's stupid homing/staggering attacks. The Assassin never seems to come out of stealth, and I eventually get feathered by archers while simultaneously being stun-locked by mages. The Assassin finally leaves the corner to come rez me, then breaks stealth right as they are walking past the giant group of enemies I was kiting. Instant Death. They both leave, and I start up another game alone.

Edit: Forgot to add that even though the Assassin was in the game for two or three zone, they had no score at the end. Literally useless.

Second game:
I solo through zone 3, and as I enter zone 4 I check the player list. The player who was the Assassin in the last game jumped back in, and is joining with a level 1 Duelist. I run forward to grab everything, then I run back to the beginning of the zone where the Duelist is hiding AFK. Turns out the player wasn't AFK, and they tried to run away for a few seconds before dying. At this point, two more players join the the lobby, and I put a kick on the Duelist, hoping they would get the hint. I run ahead a little farther, kill another spawn, and when I check the player list again, everyone has one kick vote on them. I plugged in my mic and politely ask the other players to kick the Duelist. I tell them I don't mind if either of them brings in a level one (one of them was), and that I wanted them gone because of other reasons. Still no kick votes on the Duelist. The players join and run up to where I am at, at which point I just stop fighting things and let everyone die before killing the rest of the enemies. The key drops, and I sit next to the door, holding the key hostage. I send out some messages to the other players, asking to kick the Duelist. Duelist gets kicked, and we finish the game, no problem.

Third game:
I play one or two more with those two players, then leave the game and grab something to eat. Upon coming back, I still can't find a game through quick match, so I start another game solo. Halfway through zone 2, I notice that another player has joined me. It's that Duelist... again (I even blocked this person, and they still keep getting into my games!). I run back to meet them as they run through the part of the zone I already cleared. They die, and I suicide teabag them into the fade (I needed the Darkspawn kills, otherwise I would have just quit).

TL;DR - People who have 10 hours in multiplayer should stay out of Nightmare.

I had a great time reading this.

Brilliant.

Lots o' good games this weekend. From Coldwetn0se's Halloween-themed spider-spatting games to a bunch of NM runs with, well... pretty much everyone.  ;)  TheThirdRace, Drasca, Girltriesgames, latmagicman, SpaceV3gan (I think...) and I'm sure I'm forgetting a bunch. If you were on the PC and playing this weekend, I probably ran across you.

I have one question though, I ran across someone today playing a SS who was able to kick up their speed to a level I've never seen before. I've played Pala with a Bloody Bargain, the speed passive and Charging Bull, so I know she can go fast. But this player (who's name I forget - started with a T) was able to cross maybe 2/3 the FC bridge level in like... 2 seconds. I asked, but the player didn't have a mic. Anyone know what combination of gear is needed to do this?

Was there a Virtuoso and/or Sara in the party?

Now that I think about it, there was a Sara in the group...

If they used charge across the bridge they might have been under ring's effect.  If they ran maybe they had an electrical glyph.

If not that, then I dont know.

That might have been me, but Bloody Bargain, passive, and charging bull is all I use in regards to speed.

"That was a good row. I only wish there weren't so many crashes."

I get the impression that the Bioware European setup has issues with the different connection speeds. Sometimes it works well, but then you get games with tremendous lag followed by ignominious dump back to the desktop.

indeed there do seem to be a lot of issues that will get you the desktop screen with no popups or anything else, I found that using the g19's display screen to monitor cpu &ram usage I can pretty much tell when a ctd is about to occur, whenever the sound makes a pop noise and game sounds disappear I'll be lucky to finish the game at all, but normally I can watch the ram usage sit just under 50% see it go to just over 50% and then drop back down or start creeping up one bar at a time, when it starts to creep up that's the signal I'm about to crash, or if I'm unlucky it will just suddenly jump up to 100% usage and lock up the pc completely so even alt +f4 doesn't fix it......

I started playing in windowed mode with dx11 rather than fullscreen with mantle about a month ago and aside from this weekend just gone where I was crashing 20+ times in a day (but I suspect that was down  to someone accessing my account and changing things because lots of Russian text appeared in the account settings) it was a lot more stable than before .....

but either way there were several games I played over the weekend with people from bsn and they were generally quite good, even when there were people in starting armour and low end weapons going to the fade every round, still everyone needs promotes and I am starting to get better at carrying in those situations now (I still die way to often though)

Pugging over the weekend was not productive at all. As usual, I would open a game to public and who ever joins so be it. It is amazing to watch actually. Oh the humanity!

The constant reviving is not the worst thing, its the lack of combined xp generation. Heck, for reasons that would be understandable to most, I had to be picked up when trying to cycle lower levels into the mix a couple of times. I never get angry, just frustrated.

Could be worse, I really wanted to start teabagging after the pug groups started going down in zone 1.  Sorry but if you go down 2x in the starting zone, then its too much for you.  Don't go charging into the middle of the group and expect to kill everything.  Best was when I would revive them, and then they die from a dragon shot.

Still could be worse....

I played a LOT this weekend most people and groups were very good.  Did have one game with one player I didn't care for at all.  Runs ahead as an ele to get those firestorms off hatching more than one spawn at a time.  runs back to group with enemies in tow.  Pulls the group through the door others were just getting ready to open a chest.  Ignores the fallen comrade two inches from them.  Then of course the thing you just know will happen, they go down on the last wave and immediately you start getting the 'over here!'  Too bad my team mates were more benevolent than me and ran over to raise her.

As an aside, how was everyones Halloween?  Very disappointing turnout at my house.  Halloween used to be a big deal when I was a kid, oh well.  I have to go down to my car and get the huge bag of leftover candy I have and bring it to the office lunch area.

My Halloween was great :)

It was my 10th Wedding Anniversary so we all had a big lunch at TGI's.

Wife took the kids out later, so I got to game !

They came back with the biggest carrier bag of sweets and chocolate I have ever seen :)

Had a blast with the Halloween Spider Smash! :) Will create a new thread today regarding the weekend fun - with screenshots - and also add yesterdays spontaneous "Ode to Luka: Mines, Mines, Mines. What a Blast!" B) I am putting together other events throughout the coming weeks, for those that feel like adding some "silly" to their grindage. ;)

As for the speed thing. Granted, not sure I've seen a matched speed as you described. But I will say that Luka with Bloody Bargain and Sarabad's extra speed buff, does make for one zippy little dwarf.

Semi-pugged on my friend's host in the Australian region last night. Usually we can leave the lobby public for an hour and maybe get one pug but we managed to fill a nm FC by zone 4 and had a few fun games :) i'm going to assume the pugs instantly muted us but it's their loss... we're pretty funny, in my unbiased opinion. Oh yeah, and per usual the dragon trolled my friend with purple dragon longswords instead of her Hakkon greatsword :P

Everybody used to hand out candy when I was a kid but the majority of the houses in my mom's neighborhood this year did not. Luckily, my kids are still young enough that they enjoy just walking around in costume. Also, my parenting efforts are finally paying off... I don't even have to sneak their candy once they're asleep, they actually offer it to me quite generously :o

If it was you, I'm sure there had to have been a 4th factor involved. It was definitely faster than anything I'd seen before. Perhaps the Sara was contributing as well...

Of course you know they are setting you up for moving back into the house when they are 25 and will pull out the old, mom remember when we gave you candy? strategy.

Well, went to a night club on Halloween. They had a costume contest. I went as a typical tourist. The winner went as a "condom" and runner up was a mermaid.

Had a blast.

But, last year I was disappointed by how few kids came to my door trick or treating. As a young home owner it was sad to see how few took part. Hopefully we didn't miss a bunch this year.

I understand how frustrating it can be to PUG after spending the majority of your time playing with me.

It's ok buddy.

Pugged around on threatening for a bit before I found a couple of guys who were talking to each other on mics.  Seemed like they knew each other and after playing a match with them, I turned on my mic.  Played a few more Threatening matches with them before bumping it up to Perilous.  Had a 4th who was having issues staying up on threatening try to play a level 1 Virtuoso at first, but we managed to get him to switch to a level 15 Elementalist.  Ended up getting demons in the first match and I was playing as my Templar, so it wasn't much of an issue until we got to the dragon.  I ended up being the only one fighting the dragon with one of the others leaving the lobby and joining back in to try to help me kill the dragon (multiple times).  Took an hour total to finish that match, at least half of which was me trying to kill the dragon.

Next match was pretty similar, but vs. Venatori and the Elementalist switched to a level 13 Reaver.  He couldn't seem to stay up as the Elementalist, but he did a better job as the Reaver, so I gave him an A for effort.   :P

After that I left and put on Netflix, but I did make sure to add one of them to my friends list.  Was pretty fun clutching with their commentary.   :P
