Wow. You really felt the need to go there, huh?

Your subjective experience is irrelevant if the key glitch is screwing with half of my games.

And you were the one who criticized me for removing the DLC. You are the one discounting my observations of the key glitch. I have no interest in beating my head against a brick wall in a thread that's supposed to be about people's experiences PuGing the game. If your solution works for you, great. It didn't work for me. Claiming superiority because of how many extractions you have isn't going to change anything, but it is going to make you look like a douche.

You can feel free to have the last word about it to your heart's content. I'm going to go back to talking about PuGs.

No, your subjective experience is irrelevant as all my games are glitched by firestorms and dogs. And you are the one who who discounts my observations of the key glitch. I have no interest in beating my head against a brick wall in a thread that is supposed to be about peoples experiences in a PUG game.

See, arguing on the internet makes all of us idiots.

I never criticized you for removing the DLC. Actually, if you experience to many glitches, I would actually encourage you and I appluad you for it. I havent though, as I find more games with it and as long as I avoid ele's I dont get the only bug I care to avoid: The dreaded key-glitch

Yeah, I felt the need to go there. If you want to go out to catch fish in a certain area, and ask someone for suggestions on where you catch the fish, would you either a: listen to the guy that has been fishing there for a few weeks? Or would you b: listen to the guy who's been fishing there for 20 years? I know what I would pick.

Thank you for letting me have the last word.

Now we can all go back to discussing PUGs, which is the main playmode in which people will experience the oh so annoying key glitch, and where it will harm you the most.

See you later. Or not.

This thread went so far off topic i cant believe its still open. I always skip through the pages and pages of people trying to one-up each other.  I do, however, love the hell out of my elementalist so much that I deleted the dlc so I can keep playing it.

Anyways, my last DAMP pug in a word was:  AWESOME!!   We cleared Demon Commander on Perilous twice with a lvl 12 tank and not a single death before I had to log off.

Just say NO to elementalists.

Even if they are not there, it still won't keep you safe. I heard that if you say the word "elementalist" 3 times in a row while playing it also conjures the key bug.

Back to OT:

This morning I wanted to sneak a quick game in before being a productive member of the economy, and I met this no0blet while pugging (I don't remember but I think his name had something to do with a water transport vessel?  :P)

I was like oh great, we are so going to wipe on wave 1, but... we cleared! Thank you, curry-boat, despite your fetish for wanting to see the archers shoot me  :D

Yeah yeah yeah.

Do you care to do the math? If I'm going to do it off the top of my head (only counting pugs with no team communication) I would say the glitch ratio is:

Elementalists using firestorm on stages with dogs: 90% of the time
Without elemtentalist: 2-5% of the time.

This is according to my experience, on the PC platform. And I do play quite a lot. Also, when doing pugs you cant trust any elementalist to be carefull with Firestorm when there is dogs around. I even tried to tell a guy not to after he joined my ongoing game as an elementalist (someone dropped) - and what does he do next? He firestorms the dogs. What happened? Well, the game glitched. Thank you, moron.

Playing pugs is a different matter as you can always rehost, or focus down dogs before opening the skies which will work, as I've tried that a lot recently.

While soloing, about 150 games using all types of classes, I have now had one key glitch using the alchemist and mines, and in about four sologames with Ele, I've had a 50% glitch rate due to variations of enemies. Both glitches happened on levels with dogs.

If this happens while using other characters it is only a rare occurance, and not really gamebreaking. While using firestorm on stages with dogs is.

I dont know what else you need to be convinced.

EDIT: This happens mostly when there is an "afterspawn" of dogs on the map - which is quite common when dogs are on the map. They will spawn in a tight group somewhere around halfway through the map or closer to the end. My theory in those cases is that the late spawning of the dogs gets glitched by knockaround spells, that will throw them into the wall, or kill them before they have actually spawned, which will make them not spawn at all and glitch the level. This is only a theory though and doesnt apply to every case either. I've also had this happened because enemies have spawned in locations that are unreachable to you. Even if you DO manage to kill them, it is not certain that the key will drop. For example I've had a large red golem spawn on top of a bridge in the chateu on one of the outdoor stages where there is a line of sight towards the end of stage door, and a treasure room on the other end. Theres a bridge going across it above, and this is where the golem spawned. Killing him with the archer, did not result in a key drop.

Your experiences with Elementalists and the key drop is different from mine.

I have not been in a group with an Elementalist for awhile and the games that I play I still experience the key glitch bug like every 3 out of 10 games.  I get it from unkillable giants, stuck dogs, red templar stalkers that just disappear.  No Elementalist in sight.  I actually have a story in this very thread about me firestorming dogs and the key dropped(Thankfully because I am aware firestorm has a chance to cause it with dogs.)

I agree that claiming Firestorm is at fault is pure confirmation bias. In my experience using my Elementalist and refusing to leave Firestorm at home, if the Elementalist is paying attention, and targets the dogs/animals first (either with or without Firestorm) and then progresses through the rest of the combat areas, and rooms, there isn't much of an issue. Unless one of said creatures refuses to die.

We were convinced that the key glitch was due to using Spirit Mark (my first Necromancer build) but haven't touched that junky skill since, and still the key glitch happens with the same regularity. Confirmation bias had us absolutely certain we were right, though.

Confidence-boosting...?

Levelling up my baby assassin on routine with some fellow PuGs. After a successful extraction and seeing hidden blades raep a variety of pride, rage and despair demons, one of them literally squee'd into her mic that my assassin was badass. I'm not. In fact, I suck big time (lack of skill + lag make me demon commander's b*tch) but it made me feel warm and fuzzy inside :)

Edit: I just re-read that, when I said 'baby assassin', I didn't mean... nvm. ^^'

The Keeper used barrier a few times so I know he had it. Problem was he kept forgetting to use it and fell constantly. I had to clear most of the stages myself because they kept running in random directions and were getting taken out by ranged. Near the end of 4/4 the keeper fell for the last time. While he was in the fade one of them, I'm assuming the keeper, started blasting rap music over the mic. Needless to say it broke my concentration: Mission Failure.

It is a good idea to cross out the names of other random people you played with (not friends) from the screenshot so they are unreadable. At least it were, in ME3 MP forum.

I thought that was funny, too. But a moderator just gave me a warning cause apparently you aren't supposed to post pics with people's names still showing.

They can't take the time to post how they are coming on patching bugs but they still find the time to give a warning for something as inconsequential as that.

Technically, the moderators don't actually have anything to do with QA, patches, or anything like that. Or, rather, the numbered moderators don't (there are Devs with moderator powers, although they have all but stopped posting over the last 3 months.)

I just find it stupid that the mods all but ignore the Lobby section and stick to the areas that have the least problems.  I got 3 warning points for posting memes.  Nothing offensive, just memes.  Yet, in that same thread, people were bashing on each other to the point of insulting each others' views, yet nothing happened to them.  My posts got deleted, yet they didn't get so much as a warning?  Yep, that makes sense...  -_-

Completed perilous with a pug with every member under lvl8.

Seems like the power creep has started. Although the match wasn't against the DC, which may have seen us getting an ass whuppin'.

Also the Venatori commander is going down as fast as trash mobs now. I know she's always been a breeze but before you had a chance to notice her in a crowd. Now she's just a health bar in the top corner, there and then gone again in the blink of an eye.

In my last PuG, I had some lovely "Over here!" spammers, whom I have now reached the point of habitually ignoring.

It was Demons, so of course when we reach Zone 5, they immediately start spamming "Over here!" and "Fall back!" from The Room™. Not only do I have no interest in fighting the Demon Commander in a tiny room with three other people getting OSK'd at the same time as me, but I am now refusing to listen to anyone who spams "Over here!" anyway.

So I fight the rest of the faction while they repeatedly all get downed in the little room against the DC. Even though I'm taking on 3 times as many opponents by myself without going down, they somehow never clue in that mobility is a better survival tactic than "trapped in room."

Of course, I can't solo a DC, and eventually I had to, so that put a fairly quick end to things (even though I had cleared about 75% of the enemies we needed to.) Once back in the lobby, I had 2 kick votes on me.

Ah, PuGs. I suck, but not as bad as they did. :P

Had a simliar game with an assassin. He was thinking the same thing probably. On wave 5 he stayed way outside the room and died. We refused to go out and revive him so he quit.

Had six or seven perilous pugs in a row with a high level lol-keeper. Have not noticed nothing overpowered amongst the players, some guys just similar to my level of experience with similar gear trying to coordinate and eventually it worked out. Finally, the last game was full extraction. This made me very happy.  dance.gif

On top of that, I went to the store to cash in and got my first level 20+ unique which was some pyre of the forgotten staff which I promptly enchanted for some heal on kill, plus magic and will power. Man, but this thing rocks and rocks hard. Mooks go down like flies under a swatter. I then promoted and played with this wondrous weapon by currying bronze and silver pugs to glorious victories together with another keeper. love2.gif

Also, don't believe somebody who says you that weapons don't matter. Well, them weapons matter less if you promoted 99 times, probably I can accept that. But for newbies like me who barely scratched the surface, such a weapons is huge as I can very comfortably play silver games starting from level 4 or even level 1. jumpingmulti.gif

So I landed into a Threatening lobby with this dude playing music on an open mic, loudly. I normally would mute it, but the music was pretty awesome, some sort of modern soul that I've never heard before. Quite enjoyable.
But the same dude was using an Elementalist spamming Firestorm on all mooks he could see. Obviously we bugged on 4/5. Guess what happened? Nothing. The host didn't leave, nobody left. No one seemed to be giving a damn about the key. 15 minutes I received one invite from a friend and so I decided to quit this odd game. Though I could have stayed more for the music and the peculiar people.

Came into in a threatening lobby with only lvl 18-20 characters (two keepers and an assassin) with my lvl8 arcane warrior and received a kickvote, but then they checked all right. I was top scoring through five games. Arcane Warrior with an epic weapon is so OP. But it was nice for once to be in a PUG where people actually played together and waited for each other instead of just storming ahead. I hope I could alleviate those prejudiges for arcane warrior players a bit (I feel embarrased for most of my brethren, though).

Okay, my last Routine PUG was hilarious! :D I was playing a Reaver (a very bad one haha) and this other guy playing a Katari. We just went mad fun, jumping around and spamming Block and Slashing all over the place until two other people joined us for zone 5. I'll be sure to remember their name for future shenanigans!

A place to rant is exactly what I needed, so I started playing yesterday, obviously still not amazing, but this last group a dude was bitching over mic the whole time, were on threatening, at the end after we fail on the survival thingy, the dude start saying that were are horrible players because we had two level 19 and we can't handle threatening(I was 18 going in but it's probably not relevent), so one dude died right in the beginning so we were pretty much 3 against the last part of the mission and I'm playing an archer with a 70 dps bow... So yeah dude was super rude and after we fail he just goes on and on about how bad we are for being 19 and failing at threatening and saying that me having no gear is not an excuse because he can solo the last difficulty( I'm suprised he didn't carry us to victory there on easy threatening !)  ugh ! ...

Could use some nice friendly people to play with though... Add Deadarth on Origin if you wish, I don't think I'm terrible, just lacking gear and experience.

Edit: Looks like the game decided to reward me for having to deal with this jackass, I just got my first and second epic ever in one chest :D

JUst had the funniest pug i have ever had. Me and a lvl 4 keeper and a lvl 6 archer. Keeper was host with a bad connection so myself and the archer were bunny hopping our entire way thru the five rooms. Annoying but i just found it so funny. The poor keeper kept face planting on the last room though.
