Well, I would love to play with lv 20's, because @ this stage, most lv 1 player I met simple break my threatening game. I can't handle perilous level now, but I would like that my threatening games are fun at all. So simply I do think about kicking out lv1 overpower player since they can solo threatening without any obstacles. Like I met a guy play AW and with Pact belt one shot killed everything with his chain lighting from zone 1 - zone 5. Basic attack 2 - 3 times for each mob. In this case, other guy in the room can simply sit and wait. But what is the point of that? Auto exp farming?

I mean, yeah, with high end players I can get gold n exp pretty fast. But with people camp @ lv 20 means they might feel this level is challenging enough and will not kill everything with a touch. Maybe that's why I'm still slow on promotion:(

I dont have high promotions either.  My lvl 1's cannot solo threatening, but I can handle it fine with some teammates.  Routine and threatening to an extent is just too easy at this point(not from promotions but from armor).  I like the game to be challenging as well, but you cant assume every lvl 1 you encounter in threatening is a demigod, or a scrub.

I popped into a match with a level 1 to get a few points on him.  Threatening.  Match starts, Ferelden Castle, already been joined by Gekrakel and mjones21...

...

All in all great night!

Yes indeed.  It was great fun!

The reason I was in threatening, though, was from several awful pug matches before where I was left soloing perilous with my low level keeper a couple times and a low-level archer a couple more times.. as the rest watched from the fade.  Not calling anyone out though, they were just overmatched, they all were fine players though.  I was really trying to level up my archer and keeper, or I would have switched to one of the stronger players where I can more easily solo perilous.

I really don't intend to solo with a keeper much, but those matches did help me decide that unless I am working the storm pact belt, I should probably use a different element than electric in my staff.  Even though it was just perilous, I had a hard time soloing the lightning venatori mages, since all my attacks are lightning based.  Well, gave me a chance to use some different staffs, like Kingfisher and Staff of the Dragon.

With Dispel?  Yeah.. I wish you generated barrier when you dispelled negative effects on your team.. that would make it a bit more attractive. I have taken that before, but I like the ease of chain lightning, the CC of static cage (not that I had it yet yesterday), "escapability" of fade step or cloak, and I definitely need barrier.

Probably taking the upgrade to step/cloak earlier would help too I guess.

Either way, I'm really not getting static cage or any replacement until level 14 or so at the earliest it seems like.

Maybe playing too defensively, even though it still relies on barrier.

McBeth doesn't ALWAYS play 80's rock.  He'll do 90's rap, metal, country, oldies, you name it.  Whatever he can yell along to between hits on the bong.  ^_^

One time someone said to him "I love all your music."  He said "You do huh?"  Then he switched from 80's rocks to playing NSYNC and Backstreet Boys for the rest of the night. :P

Yes, and so true. So my way of doing it is still play with everyone and for at least one match. Then you will know what level they are at and decide if you are gonna play with them again. Even with drakescale on, new bosses and mobs can kick my ass

I am one of those noobs :(

I played DAMP a bit when I got the game, but I had no clue on what to do.

I am now just really getting into it now. I am having fun, though it seems like the player pool for the PC is small. Maybe it's the level I am playing on (Routine).

I am hesitant to move up to threatening since I am still relatively new to MP, and I have pretty bad gear atm.

Make sure you got all the free multiplayer DLCs (dragonslayer and destruction).   I have not played in routine for a long time but threatening is quite populated.   Just run thru your agent a few times in proving ground (if you still can't find routine games) and get familiar with the skills and move to threatening.   Once you have enough materials to make the purple armors, you will feel very at home at threatening.

Perhaps the greatest resource in the game is a patient mentor. Many leaderboard or otherwise veteran players are happy to offer their experiences and guidance. Be cordial, make friends and learn game etiquette.

Yep.. did exactly this today.  It is usually fun helping a brand new player learn the ropes.

One thing that was funny though...  RazeInfinite was playing an excellent Saarebot for us through nightmare on the first go through and we were glorious.  We decided to go again even without him and we actually did pretty well (mjones was wrecking havoc as well).  The newbie died and said he was embarrassed to have died. After asking how many promotions he had, I told him that there was nothing to be embarrassed about for dieing in nightmare when you only have two promotions..  I have near to 300 and died as well!

Thank you for the advice :)

A mentor would be nice.

I have all the free DLCS (I got GOTY Edition which came with it).

Thank you for the tip on the proving grounds. I have ran my Keeper through a few times. Managed to get enough mats to craft basic weapons upgrades (which I have noticed helps in Routine matches),

Probably should have save the mats for crafting armor.   It will help you more on Routine and Threatening.   You need to craft purple armor as soon as possible for at least one of your agent.  It will make you a god in routine and a demi-god in Threatening. :P

For keeper, first you will have to craft

High Keeper's Tunic

Once you crafted that, you will get the schematics for 3 purple armors identical in stats but different colors:

High Keeper's Tunic (Oak)
High Keeper's Tunic (Thorn)
High Keeper's Tunic (Ash)

Just craft one of those and wear it.. and you will feel the difference.

While that statement may be true for a relatively new player, don't underestimate its value. The more promotes you have = the more damage your do (willpower) + the more critical hits you do (cunning). Hakkon weapons are late game weapons for a reason--they better suit experienced players that can take advantage of their perks.

Err I meant my current Hakkon's Mercy, I already salvaged 2 of them.  Though I think I'll keep the ones I got now.

Lucky you!  Still on my shopping list.  Actually my list is still long.

Physical Immunity Amulet

Andruil's Gift
Tezpadam's Bane
Hakkon's Wrath
Silencer
Hakkon's Mercy
Stone Stalker Blade
Crescent Sword
Bolt
Rime
Brand
Hakkon's Honor
Valos Atredum
Hakkon's Wisdom
The Dancer's Axe
Hakkon's Valor

But every time I cross one off it spurs another few days of excitement until the 'Would you like to salvage 8 items?' confirmations starts to wear me down again.

Two nightmare fc runs and both times some fade scrub pulled everyone through before anyone had a chance to use a call.  Not sure what they were thinking, but   got a couple more names to avoid/kick
