Started a PUG FC run today. We drew the frost dragon in the fire dragon setting. Was soooooooooooo weird seeing ice and frost in the summer setting.  Was a hoot. Never seen that before.

Level 1 katari on FC perilous.  3 other people join who promptly get one shotted.  Run over and pick them up thinking bad luck on their part.  After 3 rounds of this they just end up watching me from the fade.  Did enjoy the one guys attempt to solo the treasure room on zone 3.  Always fun to see a revenant show up to the dog pile.  Finally make it to the last round, yeah repeat of everything.  Did reach level 15 after this match.  So either them fading increased the XP rewarded, or picking them up 9 times gave me the boost.

Pulled out the AW yesterday and saw that I only needed 200xp to promote so I figured a quick threatening PUG would do the trick.  Sure bringing in a LV 19 AW to Threatening was a bit much, but still, only 200xp!

 

So I hop into a lobby, I don't recognize any of the names and get red skulled out.  I hop into a second lobby, same thing.  5 freaking lobbies in a row I get instant red skulled by people I have never heard of - so it's not like they can be unhappy with my play style.

 

At this point out of irritation I make a threatening lobby and run my threatening (because now it was a mission) and picked up a few randoms along the way. I promoted and run with them again as my LV1 before getting the notification that two friends needed two more HB to get their 5 so I hopped over to help them out.  The first HB was probably the smoothest we've ever run (I actually checked to make sure it was on HB and not NM).  The second was Red Templars so we killed each other a few times but those were the only deaths we had.

 

So is my name out there for instant red skulls somewhere?  I was feeling really unloved yesterday.

I don't run a banner or title, just the little nug picture for completing 250 public games.  At least JT got his HB done

Unfortunately, everyone's first judgement of someone they don't know with no banner or title would be that the person is a noob. Brings about a decent amount of unnecessary speculation, but it does turn a lot of heads when you bring in a level 1 and nuke everything in sight!

Yeah, I guess I expect it now and then, but 5 in a row just seemed like there was a hex on me.  eh oh well - I'll probably try again this evening see how many red skulls I can collect per hour Lol

Got kicked 5 times in a row with a level 19 is pretty crazy.  Are they like the same group you kept trying to join 5 times? LOL.   If this is RL, I would say someone taped a sign behind your back saying "Kick Me".

I put a skull on someone yesterday and they saw it and had a literal tantrum on the mic and called me all sorts of names. I texted him and said, "Stop playing like a selfish ****** and it won't be a problem". He left the game after a few choice words.

I started to just putting the controller down and walking away when someone pulls me through before the round is clear.  Well the prerequisite is if I had to pick them up 3 times in one round.  Then I will just take a short break while they wonder why I stopped moving.

Nothing really bothers me except when people don't let me clear the treasure rooms. It takes less than a minute and it helps them as well, so they need to pull up their big girl/boy pants and deal with it. XD

If it's my lobby I'll hop over to game chat and use my airline attendant voice (JT loves this move) where I use my scripted "Please be aware, we will be collecting all pots and doors - pull early at your own risk though we highly advise against it"  After that if they pull early they get skulled or kicked.

 

If I hop into someone else's lobby I just follow the lead of whoever is listed as leader.  If they speed run, I speed run, if they seem to want pots etc, I follow suit.

I just go with whatever the host wants to do. It just so happens that I usually host, and I don't go for treasure rooms unless I know someone in the group really wants the gold. When I do play, it's usually with two others that also have no need for gold. When people get upset because the other 3/4 of the group are playing the way they want to play, then tough ****.

You eventually get to a point where you don't care about the gold at all. There is literally nothing more to get other than yet another Inferno Pact Belt to add to the collection, so no, it really isn't helping us in any way to sit around and wait to clear a treasure room after the key has dropped.

No problem if you're in a pre-made group. Dick move if you're not. I think most people who do this to newer players sre just showing off the fact that they already have everything we peasants need. SOOO many losers on DAMP whose sole means of feeling good about their life is the leaderboard. A leaderboard not based on skill but number of hours invested. Not something you should be outwardly proud of.

In my lobby you clear rooms before the zone is complete or you risk being pulled to next zone.

I'm not being an arse, just the way I play. I'll happily clear rooms for people and if it's not my class door then just bang it down and I'll clear it for you. I like to think people know I'm a decent guy by now.

It's not arrogance. I just prefer if rooms are cleared when the zone is in progress.

But when that key drops we are moving on.

When I join games I respect the host and I let someone else trigger the next zone just so I don't risk pissing people off.

It is actually likely that they saw your name and knew that you are not calling the dragon and left.    Seriously most under promote folks join NM FC games not to get xp but to kill dragons.   One time a guy got really mad when the host pull thru without opening the map 3 treasure rooms or call the dragon even though he was just freshly back from the fade.

 

There are lots of funny people joining NM FC.  One time a guy demands someone else uses their dragon call instead of him... even though the rest of the team didn't really need the dragon.  If I am hosting, I call it every time.  If someone else is hosting, I don't call it because I don't know if they are after dragon or xp.

Sorry I think that is just selfish and not "team oriented". And as far as I know you still don't have the banker challenge so every pence counts and it really helps us NOOBS.

Plus you need to read my post in the context it was meant. I already said I will clear rooms and regularly do.

Respect the host as I do. I don't force anyone to join my games. Everyone is selfish to some extent.

Gold means nothing to me just like the Banker challenge that I will never complete.
