I can confirm the first sword strike for Templar/Legionnaire using attack cancel hits multiple targets.  I try and abuse this as much as possible.

Though I am in the same boat, it will take quite some time to kill a fear demon with basic attacks, even in Perilous.

Does it make a difference if you hold down the forward button?  I like the animation of poking, so I always hold down the forward button.  So does a precision poke act differently than a reckless whack is my question.

My belief is yes it does, though I cannot confirm.  I don't poke the enemies unless I'm trying to close the distance.

Though does the poke increase attack speed somehow?

Only if you actually move forward with each poke. It's less reliable than sprint/Shield Wall attack cancelling in terms of increasing your attack speed, especially against stationary targets.

Scientifically speaking, what was the control here?  Did the same person switch from meat to a non-meat eating diet?  Probably needs more tests.

Years and years (and a number way too shocking to list here   ) of test subjects of both varieties. The trend is100% reliable.

Honestly?

Probably your title.  Look at the other 3.  People can be idiots.

What I would like you to do is throw on your Heartbreaker portrait and Unstoppable Force title I know you have :)   but I get the impression you are above that.

I would still stick it on for at least one round haha

No I have played with Timbo dozens of times in the past so I don't think its my title.

I do think I know what it was now that I think about it.

Yesterday, I joined a Peri match (Dark Spawn) on FC 5/5 that he was in right at the beginning. I had a mid-level  SS. When the battle started I ran around looking for the boss while I took out archers along the way. I couldn't find the boss where I was located and then out of the corner of my eye I saw that the three other players were losing health really fast, so I made my way over to help but by the time I could reach them two had faded already. I tried to revive Timbo as he was already down, but the Emissary used its red lyrium beam on me and I went through both of my health potions in like 2 seconds and had to find cover ASAP which meant Timbo faded. However at this point all my abilities were recharged and I was able to take out the Emissary relatively easy as it had to wait to use its beam again. Once it was down I was able clear the level (but it wasn't pretty as I was a squishy rogue).

I think he was mad that I let him fade but it was that or die myself and lose the match. I made a quick tactical decision to stay alive (by finding cover) and possibly save the match or die while trying to revive the last person I could.

For the 1st time tried to farm spiders last night....blech....

Took about 10 tries to get demons on nightmare, I kept accidentally killing the fear demons. Finally got quite a few spiderlings on wave 4 but am sill a long ways away. I think someone stated that the best map for farming was the castle, perhaps I'll try that this evening.

Castle, Perilous, Assassin. Build for permanent-stealth, kill fearlings with flank attack. Use daggers for speed, Bloody B/Silkdart. Head straight to zones 3-5.

Perilous to give Fear Demons more health to slow down on accidentally killing them. Each fear demon will have 2 fearlings spawn, kill them, they will re-spawn. Sometimes they 're-spawn at weird, unreachable places, so have Throwing Blades ready for ranged. Still, sometimes they are unreachable.

Most I got was 542 on one run. It takes awhile though.

I haven't done it yet, I think templar maybe easier than assassin for farming spiders.  Demon pretty much can't hurt templar and she could clear them faster than assassin with AE to zone 4.   And spiders is pretty much 1 basic attack 1 kill.. and don't have to worry about stealth or HoK as fear demon does like no damage.

It is way better to do it with an assassin. The stealth is the key. It's not so much about keeping YOU alive as it will make your life easier. If you are on FC wave 4 and it is filled with 10+ Fear demons and their spiders, if you don't stealth, they will all rush you and be in your face. You will be literally surrounded by the Fear demons and spiders and you will end up killing the Fear demons just trying to get away from the mess. Assassin with stealth/I was never there and upgraded deathblow means you can pop in and out of stealth and deathblow all of the spiders while keeping the Fear demons alive.

I was able to get over 1500 spider kills in one game (took a few hours so I just watched a movie while doing it).

I just tried to farm dragonlings on FC5 and got about 50 before I lost my patience. I also accidentally killed the dragon.

Yeah... farming dragonlings is WAY more frustrating than spiders. I only have like around 150 more to go, but I also lost patience playing around with the dragon. Kill dragonlings, wait for dragon to land, wait for dragon to do guard 2 times, break guard but don't hurt the dragon, wait for dragon to take off again, repeat...

ugh...

I tried doing this while watching GoT Sunday night and someone on my friends list came in and killed the dragon. Can't a guy rubber band R2 and afk some dragonlings?!?

Joined HunterK's NM dragon PUG and learned a few things:

Q: If your enemy jumps off the cliff do you follow?

A: Yes if you are a true Hunter.

Q: How fast can you kill the NM dragon?

A: This fast...

Jumped into a threatening last night with a lv 1 katari and was immediately red skulled out.  Jumped into another lobby and there was a friend of mine, also on a lv 1 - so we ran a few threatenings together, laughing about how often we get skulled for not running a banner, hopped it up to nightmare and were joined by two other friends.  In all we had a great night (and helped to keep one of them on the leader board for a little while longer :) )

I just tried to farm dragonlings on FC5 and got about 50 before I lost my patience. I also accidentally killed the dragon.

Did mine with level 1 characters while training them in threatening. Just had to solo and actually with setting ps4 not to allow friends to jump. Wonder if that was reason why some friendly color troubled mushroom guy unfriended me  :(  I'll admit that I wasn't usefull friend at the time and it took while, and my laziness kept me not changing setting more friendly towards friends :P

Had nice run yesterday in FC perilous. Thougth that I regognized 3 names in lobby as decent and one even better players. So I took hunter whom Ionly play with decent groups. Learned out pretty fast that my memory was failing (among other things...) and things turned interesting. Couldn't get to gold pot by the boat when I realized everyone were allready redlining (how this is even possible) and as to be expected 2 of them had taken short way to bridge and one was down and down. No way I could revive them all in time, especially when not single one of them had decency to crawl behind wall or anything. And oh, of course enemy was darkspawn with multiple bigger shield guys throwing things at me when ever my nose poked around corner. Out come after stage 1, one fade due not revive in time, 2 fades due multiple deaths... Least I knew at this point that there was not going to be too many revives in match any more  B) .

Luckily at stage 2 after instant fade one of them jumped away and and even more luckily in came someone who played more than just ok (in refence to name, big thanks to you if you happend to read this) with templar, keeping my alive. Allready low on potions and to my count 8 fade incursions by the gong I decided to call dragon to better ods for not getting viped. I knew that at least my hunter could not take punishment without potions from that cursed alpha. And at that point it was pretty certain that there would be 4 more fade runs. Long story short, we got through, even my hunter was really struggling at stage 4.

Wonder if enemys buf form fade "test" stays even one who caused it jumps away?

Had other ineresting mach also. Havent seen before that one player stays at the beginning of the stage 1 at FC (THAT part I have seen before), even revived him/her once. In stage 2 I was wondering where on earth enemies are running to. Of course they were lining up to lower door trying to reach (that was the new part) that one player STILL standing at beginning of stage 1!

Had also other first timer for me other night. Running public solo with alchemist in FC (not much suprise there) and in stage 3 one enemy spot left in map. Spot running round behind the door you open to get to stage, and I was certain that it was someone stuck between stairs inside stone. Even had some mines exploding time to time rigth after throw and that just made me wonder how tough this enemy is... Until out of nowhere, arrow whuushes past me and I could not find source. After other arrow showed path I was able spot the merry archer running on second floor and lurking over broken floor. Probably thrown there by my mines earlier, because he had only about 0,1 life left. He could not hit me and despite very, very frantic efforts I could not find way to hit him. After 10 mins or so I just decided to sueside. But that was surprisingly hard, cant kill yourself jumping anymore, and that poor little archer could not hit me. Took a while but managed to get shot by standing on the rail.

Btw, sorry about longish text(s). Seems like I'm totally incabable to express my self shortly (nor clearly) and I'm also using opportunity to hone my english. Feel free to correct me when ever you have urge to do so. Or just tell to keep it simple, I won't, but won't mind you telling me to do so  B)

Just had the honor of joining @SassaMFG, @Affe_Mit_Waffe and @N7_Paolo on a few NM FC runs. I'll freely admit that my contributions were kind of low, tbh - at least in this company! So I'd just like to thank for allowing me to speed up some promotions :).

I have seen a HUGE jump of first time players in NM... I don't know if they are picking random for the difficulty - but it seems like since the PS4 fire sale on the game I haven't had a single player jump into a public NM that WASN'T in the inquisition jogging suit.  We have started bringing a S-Bus along again to try to help with the now common buffing of the enemies

Sturvo, to the best of my knowedge the fade buff for enemies stays up through the end of the match regardless of whether the faded player stays in match or not. I commend you for practicing your english, to have the the ability to write that much at least shows you have a large vocabulary. Your grammar is fairly accurate for someone who doesn't speak english as a first language as well.

Most people would agree that you can write as long a post as you'd like, if it is too much, people will just read some then skip to the next, but what you can write at the end separately is something we call "TL:DR" which means Too Long, Didn't Read. There you can sum up your lengthy post in a brief statement to summarize things.

**I had to google TL:DR a couple weeks ago not having a clue as to what it meant. I haven't used forums since the first couple years of WoW, so I know nothing about all these new cool things**

Joined a pug NM FC Inferno dragon match. 2 of the people, including the host, must have been new and were in the Inquisition jogging suit. One was a level 6 keeper and the other was an alchemist. The third person was a leaderboarder with a level 1 Saar. I joined on zone 3 and the first two are already in the fade at the beginning of the zone. The Saar is retreated back as far possible and doing everything he can. Me and the Saar clear zone 3. Zone 4 is extremely similar. The first two die and fade out immediately as the door opens and buff enemies again. This zone proved too much for the two of us and we wiped.

BUT, we all start another round. This time I chose the AW. The match starts and the leaderboarder glitched and never got in the game. So now it's only me and the two Inquisition joggers. They both die immediately at the door opening on zone 1. I revive them even while wearing the pact belt. They die again. I revive them. Die again immediately. I revive them. Die again, fade out and double buff the enemies. Now I'm wondering if I want to commit to 5 rounds of this with slow DPS alone. I fight through and clear zone 1. I hear the key drop and I'm right at the zone end door about to open it.

THE HOST DISCONNECTS and sends me back to the beginning of zone 1

TL:DR - I cry every time.  :crying:

I actually quit a NM FC game yesterday, a veteran group, or at least i recognized the names and we get to the bolter level and two of our team get caught out in the open almost immediately and go down.  I'm a saarebas and try to rez which i do about 3 times using my rock armour and healing but there are simply too many bolters and my foolish rez attempts end up with me in the fade as well.  Since we had just started the level and the remaining player I think was an assassin, I just quit because it was going to take them 20 munutes to clear the area.  (The player left was a good vet player and very likely they could clear the area but I just did not feel like waiting around on that map and on that level.  I've done that before and it takes a long time to clear it solo.

You guys are better at quitting out of matches than I am... I'll fight on until dead every time... I just can't bring myself to quit for some reason, even when I know I'll be there for 45 minutes killing things by myself with three spectators.  I should probably work on that.

I wouldn't quit on those guys I mentioned above because they were at least trying. However, I didn't expect to be soloing it with two in the fade with a low DPS class. It would probably take me more time than I had available to play. Anyway, the host quit at the end of the zone sending me back to the very beginning and the other guy must have got a connection error because I was all alone when it restarted. But I'll fight to the death if others are depending on it.

I gotta apologize for this one Mr. Fish.  I should've known a little better than to run out against bolters as a lower level AW.  Things were going so well up to that point, too.
