Farmed and got another Crescent, this coupled with forums going away has killed what ambition I had for the leaderboard.  31 away.

May seem silly but no forum will probably mean I'll give up once it disappears

hah! I've felt pretty much the same way today. The thought of there eventually being no organized community to interact with has greatly lessened my enthusiasm. I'm hoping that it'll return when ME:A drops.

Finally ran into Rhorim. Was wondering if I ever would. I panned my camera right just as you took out that giant with your Necro...in time to see its limp body go flying off over the second treasure room into the sunset.

I almost dropped my controller from laughing so hard.

In all honesty, I'll continue to play the single player games enthusiastically (bloody hell, I managed to spell that correctly. It's a miracle). However, I don't know if I'll be nearly as invested in the multiplayer games as I was MEMP and DAIMP. Without a community it's not something I'd be as interested in w/o the BSN forum around.

Met 3 new players. Really new.

All 200 to 300 Prestige and all now rocking the Heartbreaker hand portrait of coolness.

Believe it or not i still don't have my 5 heartbreaker games, i have 3.  no one ever wants to play it it seems even experienced players.  For yucks i tried to solo twice today with lvl19 ss.  Butt kicked, died on wave one to shield buggers red tramplers and then vs vents made it almost through lvl 2 but mages got me.

Assuming these plans are all for NM:
1) both katari and ss are pretty much unstoppable killing machines so it should be fairly easy...unless the rule is ONLY using charging bull...also Avvar can charge too ;p
2) so that leaves the elementalist, keeper, necro and virtuoso. This seems to be very interesting cuz with the first three there can be all kinds of crowd control...and virtuoso? He's omnipotent... we will have a good time against bolters or Qunari for sure
3) hmm but what should we do when leaping shot is in cool down? Basic attack?
4) who can beat Luka when it comes to mines?
5) I am one of the many people who have never used these 2 abilities ...But I am willing to try
6) I actually think playing 4 necros who all use walking bomb might be fun...survivability is another story though...
7) to think more of it not everyone is lucky enough to get spoon/ham so maybe not a good idea after all...

 

1) Yes, this was suggested more just for the fun of it than to be a particular challenge, and Avvar could fit in well with this too, as you suggest. We could of course have an "Only Charging Bull" rule, see 3 below.

 

2) Eliminating Saarebas would definitely make playing Virtuoso in the support role more appealing. Would banning him as well make it more or less interesting?

 

3) If we had Archers with Opportunity Knocks cooldowns might not be much of an issue. That said there are lots of possible variations on the basic idea of "use only ability X and basic attacks."

 

4) Yes, not a lot of reason to play anything but Alchemist for this one. If one were just for the heck of it, would Elementalist's Fire Mine count?

 

5) I did once play a Saarebas build using the wall. Not a bad ability, she just has too many better ones. So, yes, a "use unusual Saarebas abilities" challenge has potential.

 

6) It might crash the game, but it is not as if that does not happen sometimes anyway even when we are not trying to do anything special, so we could give something like that a shot.

 

7) Sadly I have neither the ham nor the spoon. As we all know, the loot RNG for this game is brutal and despite hundreds of NM dragon runs (I think, have not kept precise track of them) I have only been able to accumulate a collection of Hakkon weapons and similar second-rate junk of that nature.

I have only 2. Lost connection on zone 5 twice. As it takes too long to finish, it often happens.

My last attempt with a SS who I considered immortal ended against a dozen Venatori Commanders.

I will try again with maxed defenses, fire resistance potion and a PI amulet(maybe it will never happen ..).

NM exp cap is enough for level 18 plus around 300xp, iirc.

How about this setup if we can gather 4 players :

 

Keeper : storm pact belt. Main barrier caster 

Ele : inferno pact belt. Must have fire mine and barrier for backup when keeper's barrier is unavailable.

Necro : winter pact belt. Bring walking bomb and ice mine

Saarebas : pact belt based on personal preference. Wall and breath are required. Ring or glyph is OK but barrier is not allowed.

 

Although it doesn't strictly meet all the requirements, it's sort of a combination of 2), 4) ,5), 6)  Be aware of high risk of wiping In order to maximize the chance of surviving I think all the mages need to be level 15 or higher...

I've played like two promotions with Saarebas wall since recommending that. It's actually not bad (on perilous at least). The fire wall on perilous is usually a one hit kill and panics if it doesn't kill. For the Necromancer, I think you would also need blizzard and spirit mark for self revive.

If necro takes ice mine + walking bomb + spirit mark + blizzard (assuming all upgraded), she will be level 17...I think virulence and death siphon are also necessary, which will make her level 19...I have never used ice mine or blizzard with necro...maybe they don't need to be upgraded? or perhaps she only needs to take either blizzard or ice mine...

Beware of this individual names HunterKipling for I believe he has close tie with the Venatori, and he is actively working with them against the Inquisition!   Hear my story.  This morning, as I have wandered into the Ferelden Castle and set my sight to the brass gone of the dragon, I heard a cry for help underneath the ground before the draw bridge.   As I rush down the ladder to help this brave warrior, I step into a room with webs of lightning covering the entire ground and flashing knife blades cutting my robe and flesh.   To my horror, there were hundreds of Venatori minions awaited in the room for an ambush.    I have climbed down to a trap!   This Hunter.. if you could call him that... more like an executioner... was there directing the assault.   As he saw that I started to dispatch his assassins and warlocks, he bellowed a counterstrike and call in reinforcement upstairs!  I won't bored you with my escape, but I can tell you that this mad Hunter chased me all the way out of the castle gate yelling "This is the end, this is the end."   As I yelled back.. "you are quite mad!" I can hear him mutters under his breath.."working as intended.."

No, I feel something similar. I know the game will exist beyond the forum, but I launch it and feel so....unmotivated. I have been coming here for 4 years almost daily, if only lurking sometimes. This is not easy....
