Was playing Threatening as my Elementalist to get him up to level 20 and dropped into a lobby with a high-level Arcane Warrior. A level 1 Assassin drops in as well as a high-level Katari, and of course a kick vote immediately lands on the Assassin. I felt bad for the Assassin, and felt if need-be, we could carry them. The fact that said Assassin had a banner, portrait, and title also helped me feel inclined to not kick them.
I readied up, as did the Katari, but the Arcane Warrior was being an elitist dick and wouldn't ready up. Was about to turn on my mic and tell him to just ready up before he left, as did the Katari, and I ended up being host. Normally, I'd immediately drop out of the lobby, but I didn't want to seem like a dick, so I stayed and waited for 2 more people to drop in. Eventually, a high-level Arcane Warrior and a high-level Keeper dropped in and we all readied up. Of course, since the Assassin was level one, they started out with 2 kick votes, but I just ignored them and focused on crowd control. The Assassin dropped a couple times in the following match, but managed to get up to level 6 afterwards and the Keeper got to level 20, switching to a level 13 Arcane Warrior. Another match and funnily enough, that Arcane Warrior was the first to go down. The Assassin went down a couple times after that and it ended up with me and the high-level Arcane Warrior carrying zone 5 (damn demons...). After a couple more matches, I got my Elementalist to level 20 and dropped out of the lobby after thinking twice about it.
But that was last week.
Today, I dropped into a lobby with a pretty decent team as my Legionnaire. There was a high-level Keeper, a mid-level Archer, and a mid-level Reaver. Now, mind you, most Reavers I've played with were very competent, always managing to stay on their feet. The Reaver I ran into today, however, managed to face-plant at least once a zone after clearing zone 1. I tried to pull aggro as best as I could, but the Reaver just kept drawing everything on top of them before getting dropped. The Archer went down once or twice, but me and the Keeper always stayed on our feet, essentially carrying the lobby. After a few matches, the Reaver left and was replaced by a high-level Archer, who was a very competent player. Did very well for the next set of matches, clearing all the treasure rooms and handling whatever was thrown our way. Then, everyone dropped out, leaving me as the host. Naturally, I dropped out as well.
Eventually got my 25 treasure chests after that and decided to level up my Archer, so I started searching for Routine matches. The first one I dropped into had a high-level Elementalist, Reaver, and Keeper. Immediately left that lobby and eventually found a lobby that had just a fellow Archer and a low-level Templar. The Templar wouldn't ready up, so we kicked them and started the match ourselves.
Of course it turned out that I would get a shitton of lag. Eventually a Reaver and a Elementalist dropped in and, for some reason, the lag pretty much disappeared and I stayed around till my Archer hit level 12 before jumping onto the story.
